So at the end of September, we converted our old Invision board to a Zetaboard. We were under the impression this would take a few days tops. Our Invision Board was very old (around 8 years), with thousands of posts. So when the conversion seemed to be slow, we assumed it was that. Once a couple weeks passed... We knew something bad was up. So we opened a new board, put in a support ticket and followed the proper process, in hopes of getting out board back. We were eventually told that this was a Brandon problem and that, only he could look into it. We're still very hopeful that this is an issue that can be fixed. The entire reason we tried to convert to Zetaboards was because we were worried that since Invision didn't back up we might lose these 8 years worth of posts and writings. So this whole thing is unusually frustrating, but we're fine with waiting it out, if it means a resolution is coming. Anyway, it was directed to Brandon about two weeks ago. We haven't heard a peep yet. Rather than get all upset, we're mostly just curious... What's the timetable for Brandon to get to something like this? Does it usually take a few days, weeks? Mostly just curious. The longer this goes, the more the spirits of the folks who write at our boards go down. But we keep telling people that it's been directed to the head cheese in development, but it would be quite helpful if we could say how long that process usually is. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! |

When he has time. Him and the rest of the team handle hundreds upon hundreds of support requests from probably thousands of boards daily. Possibly even the same support request that you have made regarding conversions. He also has an offline life too. Family, job, etc. Patience is required. I know from personal experience, from board restoration and account lock outs *winks at Brian and Nick* Oh a time table? Depends on the issue. My account lock out issue happened in January 2009. It was December 2011 when they finally gave me access to my account. I also submitted a board restoration ticket 18 days ago for a board I lost in 2007. Though technically I've been waiting longer than that, though due to that unfortunate ticket glitch a few years ago... -_- Edited by KhaosKarma, Oct 22 2012, 06:08 AM.

Hi there, I'd like to begin by apologizing for your situation. There are so few boards active on InvisionFree server 1 that it was uncommon for them to convert and we didn't know about the problem you experienced at all. Recently, your board and another board have brought this to our attention and it's gravely unfortunate given that you are some of the oldest users of our service. Continuing - you've not been forgotten: I can assure you of that. When a ticket came in about this issue, I ensured Brandon became aware of it. When your ticket followed it, I knew the problem wasn't isolated and passed along the information to the member of staff replying to your ticket and revisited the issue with Brandon. Recently, I had a discussion with Brian (who is in regular contact with Brandon) about recent problems we've encountered and ensuring they're on Brandon's list of things to do (including a recent ZetaBoards search bug). Brian and I both agreed that your situation is top priority of those that I discussed with him. So, we completely appreciate the severity of the situation and believe it is necessary to remedy it as soon as we can. Unfortunately, as you've been told, only Brandon can resolve these situations and until we successfully clone him without the evil gene taking over - he's only one person with plenty on his plate (much more than even I'm aware of). I'd very much like to be able to give you a timeline of when you can expect resolution - but anything I said would probably be incorrect and it's not very easy to estimate when he'll be able to resolve the issue for you. Know that you're not forgotten and that we believe the situation you're in is of very high priority. However, what that translates to in terms of speed of resolution is impossible to determine. All the best, ~Nick |
