I just finished a series of upgrades/improvements. I will be starting on a second set immediately. Here are the major highlights: Improved Registration: No need to validate using email. This means instant activation. Several other small changes and bug fixes. v1.2 RC2: All boards are running RC2. RC2 focuses on security improvements and bug fixes. It also laid the framework for a Portal which will be available on InvisionFree soon. Speed/DB Errors: The last week has had a 40-80 times reduction of DB Errors. A side effect of the improvements is an all around slight increase in speed and major increases in some areas (PM System and Show Leaders Page). PM System: In addition to faster loading when you have several hundred or thousand PMs, you will now have every PM you reply to makred so you can remember which still need a reply. Several bugs were also fixed. Attachment System: Major bug when moving a topci which has attachments in it has been fixed. The download counter was re-enabled. Topic viewing is slightly faster. The whole Attachment system has been redone. Server #2: All new boards will be placed on Server #2 as of tonight. Server #2 already has tools in place to prevent DB Errors. Server #2 also already has short URLs (no need to type /forums/). Cookies have also been improved. Images and Port 54: Images are now served completely seperate, not using port 54. This means users with strict firewalls will now be able to see images on InvisionFree. Minor Adjustments/features: -File Manager bug fixes. -File Manager improved user interface. -File Manager size bug fixed. -Polling voting bug fixed. -Backup shows when you can perform your next backup. -A major permission mask bug was fixed. -Added Custom Image for Users Online (it no longer is shared with birthdays). -Dozens of minor tweaks and bug fixes. -Probably some more little things I forgot to mention. |

Here is a quick preview of what is to come in the second bundle of upgrades... -PM System: More user friendly. -Forum view: topics with attachments will have a marker. -Speed Improvements/DB errors: A complete elimination of DB Errors. -File Manager: The ability to view, manage, and delete all files on your board. Improved viewing and bug fixes. -Bug Fixes: Fixes for over 75 bugs. |
