The Portal is now available on all boards. The purpose of it is to be a summary of the baords information. It can be a useful intro page to your forum.

We have upgraded to v1.3. IPB v1.3 is mostly minor changes and bug fixes.

---

The September Survey has shown that people are most interested in the following improvements:

° More features: We plan to address this with many new features found on IPB and other not found on IPB. This includes: RPG, Shop, Unlimited level forums, Custom Profile Fields, and more powerful Skinning.

° Stability: Database errors may be rare, but they are not gone. I plan to spend much time this month fixing the causes of these errors. Today, I wrote and installed new database access code. This should isolate errors and make them more rare.

° Ads: This is a tough subject. Some people think text ads look messy, others think they are less intrusive. Some people think big makes it fit in with the page better, others prefer small. Some people prefer the ad at the bottom, others say it bothers the items they added at the bottom. Most people hate pop-ups (myself included), some prefer them so that a banner does not spoil their board's layout.
As you can see no single ad solution will make everyone happy. In addition, InvisionFree costs money to run and so we most have a reasonable form of advertising. Our solution is to give the board owner a choice in the advertising the board displays. We will try to provide as many reasonable options as is possible. here are some taht we will most likely offer.
- Single Pop-up: Depending on the rates we find you may only get 1 pop-up every few pages.
- Small banner (google) on top and small banner (image) on bottom.
- Leaderboard banner (larger): Choice of Google on top or image on the bottom.
- [Maybe]Adjustable small google banner: will be in different spots depending on which area of the baord you are in.

° Bugs: Many people have shown a concern for bugs. I have started to do extra testing before upgrading to reduce the number of new bugs introduced. In addition I plan to fix more bugs and fix them faster this month.

Now that the portal/v1.3 is completed I will be working on the next projects.
These are somewhat in order:

- Some other smaller features

Our survey has shown that there is a high demand for both cheaps domains and free web hosting.
We are aiming to provide domains (.com .net .org) for approximately $8.
I am also looking into adding free hosting as a free service we offer.
