XBOX developers are claiming that they may decide to give xbox a smaller design with the help of laptop compoinits. This is to boast sales in Japan. The main problem is that it might wind-up costing more.

More than likely they'll probably just have to put a bunch of high-powered components in the laptop that are mobile, and there you have it, a small xbox.

Yea, but the thing that sucks about the smaller Xboxes getting even hotter means their parts will wear out quicker due to thermal stress. :unsure:

It won't have a hard drive though.

if they can make it as small as, lets say, the ps2..that would be good...I don't expect a laptop sized Xbox...just a smaller one.

It will have a hard drive, because all the games developed so far utilize it someplace or another.

But it will be so small.

I've read in one of the OXM issues that a hard drive manufacturer (I forget who, it may be Seagate) is developing smaller harddrives, with a thin profile and advanced cooling techniques specifically for consoles.

that sounds pretty cool actually.

The xbox doesn't need to be in the shape of a laptop, I just mean for it to have laptop or mobile components to allow it to have a smaller design. Like you guys said before, it might wind-up being the size of the PS2 or, dare I say it, the GC.
