Title: Youtube
Description: Recomendations

Zardoz - July 9, 2007 12:22 PM (GMT)
After seeing the Bollywood Version of Michael Jacksons Thiller (Everyone has seen that, right?) I wondered if anyone has any other gems to share that I may have missed.

CornerUnitSofa - July 9, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
Joe Pesci with his head on fire.

I watch this about once a fortnight, sometimes more.

Macready - July 9, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
The Darth Vader Sessions is quite funny;

Man makes farty noises with hands to popular hits. Also see his version of Super Mario Bros.

Hurt. Help. I am hurting.

(Falls off chair, grimacing with laughter-pain)

A lovely catchy song - Jason Webley 'Eleven Saints' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP21zUrMh7s

And Reeves & Mortimer's unsuccessful, flawed but funny pilot post Big Night Out but before their move to the beeb. Worth it for the bit where Vic's newspaper spins around.

Behold elaborate marble rolling, er, stuff. From some Japanese education programme called Pythagora Switch (which is probably not about marble rolling or switches).

Dramatic squirrel

Clearly the best thing on the Internet.

It's certainly good stuff. But! Not a squirrel. S'a prairie dog. *I* thought it was some kind of gerbil meself, before.

grumpysmurf - July 10, 2007 02:06 AM (GMT)
Squirrel is my default word for any non-mouse rodent. (More dramatic squirrel goodness below!)

So that's where it's from.

An animated GIF of that has been circulating around SA for about a month now, and it never ceases to make me curl up into a ball with laughter.

Some people have made the GIF so that there's no dramatic pause at the end, and it misses the point completely.

Basketball / Massive Effort fans: Some amazing shots (I especially like the skateboard/baseball shot).

markg - July 10, 2007 10:14 AM (GMT)
My own effort, I'm such a nerd.

Grim... - July 10, 2007 10:18 AM (GMT)
THAT PLANE HAD MAGIC PROPELLORS!

Lasermink - July 10, 2007 10:24 AM (GMT)
I think this was linked in another WoS thread not so long ago, but just in case someone here hasn't seen it yet: Grand Theft Mario

Dr.A - July 10, 2007 10:43 AM (GMT)
Not sure if I ever mentioned these things what I did, so I shall do here:

The secret life of Skeletor

Britain's got infantile humour

AndyB - July 10, 2007 10:56 AM (GMT)
YouTube comments make me weep for humanity :(

Seriously, though - how did they just dissapear?

markg - July 10, 2007 11:21 AM (GMT)
It's a powered glider so we use folding propellers to cut down on drag when the motor is off.

Grim... - July 10, 2007 11:43 AM (GMT)
Oooh. I wouldn't have thought that centrifugal force to hold them 'out', but hey, that might not even be how they work.

markg - July 10, 2007 01:23 PM (GMT)
Sort of, initially the centrifugal force pulls them out, away from the fuselage but after that they are trying to screw through the air and so are pulling themselves forward.

elmarko - July 10, 2007 01:34 PM (GMT)
Come and look at my YouTube channel.

http://www.youtube.com/wuzzlevideos

I have a shit-ton of road safety commercials from around the world. Only the best ones. With crashes. And deaths. None of the boring ones. Or none that were already on YouTube when I started to do this. I'm running out of new ones to add now, but if you have any requests for ones you may have seen on Tarrant on TV or whatever (you know, where he does his "serious" voice for a few minutes), give me a shout.

There's a new Think! drink driving campaign out soon, and I'm hoping it's a good one with lots of gore and blood.

You haven't got a dog. You've got a little cat that's dead.

jradge - July 10, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
Not strictly youtube, but this always raises a smile. And the volume.

Fuck me, they certainly don't hold back over there.

I can't look away - it's like a car crash (ba-dom-tish).

Youtube can also be educational:

Birds of Britain
Spiders

This one has to be my all time favourite:

This one has the same voice over fella and is brilliant:

Morte - July 16, 2007 04:46 PM (GMT)
Quite possibly the strangest and most amateurish thing I've seen on youtube...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW9PRpJBCu4

Aliens and bible readings...watch for 8.21 (after the alien puppet sings songs about Jesus and alien planets) as "Chip the Black Boy!" © comes on and the video effects machine seems to break down.

The puppets also seem to be accompanied by a peadophile called "James".

Very, very strange.

They're from (ex?) TV funnybloke Adam Buxton, best known for the Adam and Joe Show.

I'd like to recommend "Ain't got nobody", a home-made animation in the style of King Rolo and all that.

nervouspete - July 16, 2007 07:24 PM (GMT)

David Blaine.

"What?! What!? What the F!? You're a TIME TRAVELLING DEMON!"

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=PGrTvNzGCZE

I laughed until it hurt.

Sorry if this has already been done, but:

My favourite public information film (the Man-Trap Rug).

Grim... - July 16, 2007 09:33 PM (GMT)
Not on YouTube, and not a video, but sod you! I'm linking to it anyway.

Some sort of martial arts audition thing (or something, I dunno), featuring people who clearly believe they are possessed of ninja-like skills...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsbagZvkrbo

Grim... - July 16, 2007 11:07 PM (GMT)
Hahahaha nunchuck man was awesome! That really hurt!

BertyBasset - July 16, 2007 11:23 PM (GMT)
"Chocolate Rain" music performance, sung by a 'serious' musician (he looks about 18 yet sounds like he's 52, but that's irrelevant). Just watch a couple of mins to get a 'feel' for the track (it doesn't get any less repetitive as it goes on....)
