Title: Pronunciation?
Description: An unoffical poll, I guess..

Vanessa - May 14, 2004 01:44 AM (GMT)
Although if it is a poll I don't know why I'm not actually making it a poll. Maybe because I'm lazy, or possibly because it's unoffical. =)

Anyway, like it says in the title.. *points* How do you guys all pronounce the word 'coven'?

I myself say co-ven, with the stress on the 'co', like 'company' or 'Mickey Mouse & Co.' But on CSI a few weeks ago a chick said c-oven, as in 'I'm making cookies in the oven.'

And when Rowen was at my house the other say she said c-oven, too, so maybe I'm just wrong.. *Noo!*

So, personally.. A or B?

Nafretiri - May 14, 2004 01:50 AM (GMT)
Personally, I've always used B. I always thought that was the right way, but I'm probably the wrong person to ask. I'm always pronouncing things wrong. <_< According to my friend (who is here with me) it's c-oven though.

I always use B but hey then again I'm a little weird so don't take my word for it ok? Ok well then I answered you now then. Can I get on of thoose cookies you made in that oven?

Angeliques - May 14, 2004 02:09 AM (GMT)
I would have to say I use c-oven. Looking it up, or trying to, via online dictionary, I didn't understand they way they had it pronounced. <so why did I go there in the first place?> I think they say, that it is pronounced co-ven. But wouldn't that sound like cove-n? That just sound funny.

*looks around cautiously and reminds herself not to babble on*

B, never heard it say Co-Ven, thats just f00lish.

Vanessa - May 14, 2004 03:17 PM (GMT)
=P *smacks Sky on the back of the head*

Well, I guess I'm out-numbered.. =( I said co-ven because when I'm reading and don't know how to pronounce a word, I literally sound it, and I normally start stressing on the first part.

Aww.. guess I've been saying 'Coven of the Articulate' wrong all these years.. At least I get 'Talamasca' right!

Victor St. Michael - May 14, 2004 04:01 PM (GMT)

Cookies in the oven... c-oven! YAY!

Are vampires just cookies that live in ovens...?

Now I have had too much online time... AND I WILL POST, 'NESSA!

Vanessa - May 16, 2004 09:17 PM (GMT)
I guess they could be. In a way, we are all just cookies baking in the oven of life. *nods, feeling deeply wise*

AND I WILL POST BACK.. in time.

Skirr - May 16, 2004 10:56 PM (GMT)
*Snicker* Oh sagely Vanessa! Please, weave your wisdom into the actions of my everyday life!

And, random question for everyone...

Does your PM system do this?: Your folders are -4% full. Yes, that's right. -4% full... Please tell me I am not the only one...

Gabriel - May 16, 2004 11:35 PM (GMT)
*Cries* I wanted a Cookie!!!!!!!*Cries more.*

Vanessa - May 17, 2004 12:03 AM (GMT)
Nope, Skirr.. Mine don't. I remember you asked me that before, too.. My Inbox somtimes doesn't show if I have any new messages. I mean, the little 'Inbox' label up by the 'My Controls' and the 'Logged in as: whoever' stuff.
