Title: Seeking Home

Amok - December 13, 2008 02:26 AM (GMT)
Amok comes to a stop on the corner across from the steps of the old Saint Mary's Church. He pulls his journal from his inside jacket pocket and rereads a recent entry. Slipping the journal away he lets out a long sigh, his breath crystallizing in the cold winter air. "This looks like the place.", he says as a small smile forms on his face. Amok adjusts the strap of the large plastic case he has slung across his back and walks across tot eh church and steps inside. He looks around but doesn't see anyone in the large gathering room. Wlking up the isle ,he steps up onto the stage and runs his hand across the smooth cold serfacce of the alter. He looks up at the beautiful stained glass windows then asks aloud, "Is anyone here?".

Pandora Lorrain - December 14, 2008 03:59 PM (GMT)
Catherine had been playing in the shadows around the cemetery that surrounded the church. It was a game for her, while at the same time she was practicing her ability. Her shadow-walking was perhaps her favorite skill so far and she practiced hard to make it all it was worth. She stopped in her game for only a second between two shadows. She seemed like a human shaped shadow, though parts of her body were clearly human and not black. She relaxed her posture and returned to a complete red-headed vampire.

Someone was in the church and she didn't think that he was someone that she knew. She sped that way and went in through the back down, still sticking to shadows. She entered the main room and looked at the man that stood at the altar. She watched him with a touch of amusement. "Welcome to the Nephim coven, stranger." Her voice was like soft velvet and clearly stated the reason why she was in this particular coven. It was the same voice that she used to trap mortal men into doing whatever she wanted. She shimmered into view and smoothed out her forest green shirt. "Is there something I can do to help you?"

Amok - December 14, 2008 06:35 PM (GMT)
Amok turns from the stained glass windows to see the woman now standing behind he. She didn't appear too much younger then himself, but he knew otherwise. Amok smirks to himself as the words of her Command meet his ear. "That was very good my dear, you're very talented. And yes, I believe there is something you can help me with. I've just arrived here in Demaitre and I've been searching for fellow coven members. Berengar, the Nephim coven leader in London, directed me here." He bows shallowly, his movements slightly restricted by the large case he's carrying. "My name is Amok, it is a pleasure to meet you, milady."

Pandora Lorrain - December 16, 2008 07:34 PM (GMT)
Catherine looked at him, her face showing mild confusion, yet she didn't ask him to elaborate. She hadn't been using the word of power or as some others would call it command. It was simply lowering her voice low enough that no matter what she said, it would sound sexual. She had practiced it enough that she only had to say one word and mortal men would be putty in her hands.

Catherine paused, thought about the person that he mentioned and shook her head. "Never heard of him." She wasn't privy to the other leaders that directed the Nephim coven, after all the only one that truly mattered was the one that was in Demaitre. The leader here was the one that directed all the Nephim covens in the world. So others could be deemed as unimportant to her mind unless she decided to move there, until then she couldn't care less.

She gave a small curtsy, spreading her plain, knee length, black skirt. "It's a pleasure to meet you Amok, I'm Catherine and I welcome you to the vampire capital of the world." This was the place where the head leader of each coven was established, it was the only place where the vampire capital could be located.

Amok - December 17, 2008 04:18 AM (GMT)
(OOC: My mistake on the command thing. The wording mislead me. Sorry for the short post as well, bit of a writer's block tonight...)

Amok smiles softly at Catherine and says, "On the contrary my dear, the pleasure is mine, and thank you for the welcome. I think I may need a guide for awhile and I will require lodging, if you care to volunteer for either." He slips the large case of his shoulder and leans it up against the front most pew. It had been nearly ten days since he had a decent days sleep and the effect were beginning to show.

Catherine eyed the man, she wasn't sure if she liked him or was simply annoyed with him. What person went through many centuries without changing at all? She doubted that anybody simply stayed the same. Even the ancient that she had met had made some concessions to the present. He still acted as if he had almost walked out of the seventeenth century with his speech being the only change. Had men of her time been like this? She didn't think so.

"If you belong to the Nephim then there are lodgings below this building. There are rooms with beds and coffins, it is up to you to determine which you prefer. Some of the Nephim stay here and never move out, while others see this as temporary lodgings. you can stay here for an indeterminate time frame and no one will say that you have to leave." Sh supposed that she could show him around town and perhaps she could end up liking him, it was really up in the air for now.

Amok - January 1, 2009 11:26 PM (GMT)
(OOC: Sorry for the long delay. I got caught up in the holidays.)

Amok smiles softly and says, "Excellent, I think I'll settle in downstairs and grab a bite to eat." He pauses a moment looking past Catherine to the windows behind her, gazing as if lost in a thought but then continues. "Would you care to show me around a little later then?" He steps back to the front pew and picks up the case by the long nylon strap. Amok motions Catherine to show him to the lower level as he lets out a small sigh or relief at the thought of a good rest.

(OOC: don't worry, i haven't been able to get on in a week...)

Catherine eyed him. She still wasn't sure what she thought of him. He seemed decent enough, but definitely not her type. She was looking for love, it was her only goal in life and it was proving to be most difficult. Who would have thought that finding love could be difficult, it wasn't suppose to be this hard. She nodded to him. "This way. It's just beyond the door. There are steps in the back that lead down to the catacombs where many of us sleep. Just follow me." She led the way down and pointed to some of the rooms that were unoccupied. Separating the ones that had beds from the ones that had coffins.

Amok - February 1, 2009 12:20 AM (GMT)
Amok follows Catherine to the catacombs and arbitrarily selects one of the bed-rooms. "Thank you Catherine, I'll look for you tomorrow evening then. Goodnight." With a small smile of contentment, he walks into the room and slides the deadbolt into place. Walking to the bed, he lays the large case on it and opens the steel latches. He grabs the black silk cloth from the corner of the case and spreads it out over the top of the dresser. He moves back to the bed and removes the pieces of a darkly stained teak wood display stand and assembles it. After centering it on the dresser he takes two longswords from the case and places the delicately on the stand. He finishing unpacking his clothing and then lays down to rest through the daylight hours.

The day comes and goes; and shortly before nine, Amok stirs. He sits up slowly, gently massaging his temples with one hand. The migraines had plagued him for years now; he wasn't sure when they started but they had stuck with him. He walks over to the dresser and opens his flask. Looking inside he thinks to himself, Getting low... He takes a few small sips and then reseals the stopper. He takes the next few moments to dress and finishes by slicking his hair back and straightening his jacket. Pleased with his appearance, he makes his way upstairs. Amok strolls slowly through the corridors, taking time to admire the ornate architecture of the church; masonry had always been one of his fascinations. He steps out into the cool winter air and looks around, away into the night as if looking for something that should be there.

Pandora Lorrain - February 11, 2009 05:56 PM (GMT)
Catherine was already outside and enjoying the cool air, walking through the tombstones. She was wearing a short spring jacket that was definitely not warm enough for the night, but then again cold didn't bother those that are already dead. She wore a pair of chocolate brown corduroy that matched well with her forest green jacket. He hair for the night had been curled, but she knew that by the end of the night he hair would have returned to its wavy state. Only problem with being a vampire, everything was always the same.

She saw Amok and made her way to him, carefully walking through the frozen ground. She didn't want to step in a wet puddle with the boots she was wearing. It would damage them and get her feet wet, they weren't waterproof. "Hello Amok. How did you sleep?" She was going to be proper she always was and was determined to keep it that way. Besides he wasn't a bad fellow.
