Title: Our Rusted Hearts Begin to Beat
Description: for Pandora :D

Nikolaos - November 25, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
She had been sitting there for awhile now. She did not look like a vampire. Her hair was boy-short, never recovering from its rough shaving. That had been so long ago. Thin white fingers ran themselves wishfully through brown hair that used to be so long and beautiful. Now she had to style her short hair with curls and spikes. It gave her a cute sort of rocker look- but she still missed her long tresses of chocolate hair.
Today her hair was curled softly. It waved slightly in the front and those waves were pushed back by an icy breeze. The vampiress released a sharp breath as the wind she could no longer feel bit her face.
She pulled her knees to her chest and leaned against the headstone that she sat by. The headstone was large, marble, strong. It blocked most of the wind when she relaxed against it.

Blue eyes closed and dark eyelashes were suddenly graced by snowflakes. The earth was about to be blanketed, put to sleep- and Carina would not sleep with it.
Carina Durr felt her jeans soak from the snow. She felt her thick sweater begin to freeze into a stiff substance. She stayed near the gravestone a while longer, pulling back her sweater to reveal a blue number on her left arm.

She could see that number- invision it- without even opening her eyes. But still she opened those icy eyes and stared- stared at her branding- at her marking. She was once something to be killed- something of no value. Yet that had been changing. She did the killing now. She was in control now. She had seen to it that those who killed her friends- died as well. They deserved it.

Anger saturated her body, causing her cheeks to flush slightly as her blood pressure raised. She frowned and stood, her boots crunching in the newly fallen snow.
She stared at the grave.
Ava Jenkins
Mother
Sister
Wife

Her mother's name was Ava. Of course, her mother's last name was Durr, but for some reason Carina liked to see her mother's first name embedded in stone. It eased her mind. Her mother had no place to rest. Ava Durr had been cremated. She left her daughter through the black smoke. She had to think her mother was at rest. She had to believe her mother had peace. But her daughter had no peace...

Carina started to back away from the grave. She should go. She should go away... Run!
But she was frozen, fixated and paused- in a nightmare.
Blue eyes blazed and Carina stalked away from the grave, firey shields protecting her from the horrible thoughts that threatened to destroy her sanity.
Carina sighed as she escaped the alluring call of the tombstone with her mother's name, now stopping to relax beneathe a barren tree.
"How am I to find an outlet for this fire which I have been burdened with?" she asked herself in a shaky whisper. "How am I to quench my wrath and put myself to some use? What is there for me here? If only I knew..."

Pandora Lorrain - November 26, 2007 03:11 AM (GMT)
Hale lately had spent most of his time near the coven, leaving only to hunt. He had spent endless hours in the library, reading anything that he could comprehend and that he could somewhat translate. It made him so passionate to understand all of the history that surrounded vampires. Their beginning and their history to this day, it was empowering to know that he had lived this long and had experienced this much. He was a part of their history.

Right now he was outside on the cool night and enjoying the brisk air. He would have preferred no wind, but beggars couldn't be choosers. He inhaled deeply and enjoyed the cool air going up his nose. This was a beautiful night and it was a night to create havoc.

He lay crouched on one of the biggest statues in the cemetery, looking over his domain and his eyes caught the woman standing not very far off, but definitely she seemed lost in her own world. He knew instantly that no woman with any sense would be in a cemetery alone in the cold, she was a vampire and he knew that.

He vanished from his spot up and reappeared behind her on another tombstone. He heard her rant and wanted to smack her, yet he restrained himself barely. "Are all young vampires as dramatic as you? What is wrong with the younger generation, did someone force you guys to watch soap operas to make sure that you spoke like them?" He tilted his head. "About your wrath, I may have an answer. Are you interested?"

Nikolaos - November 26, 2007 10:37 PM (GMT)
Carina wasn't very startled as she looked up to see an old man sitting on the tombstone... in the body of a child. Damn.... That had to suck.
His catty remark made her smile, she didn't mind insults that much- but that really wasn't an insult- rather a... expression of distaste.
She shrugged.

"Yes." She answered. He was right. She was being overly dramatic in that moment. Thinking back over what she had said, she shook her head with embarassment.

"I lost myself." She would have to stop that. She would have to get over her own script in mind and leave her fantasy life behind. There was no fantasy. There was no camera rolling. There was only death. And she liked it that way. She just had to get over herself.
It was a new goal.

"Interested? Yeah... Yeah I am" she said, her iced eyes a little unsure of this vampire. She didn't know him, shouldn't trust him... but she was interested. He should be an Ishak too- a member of her own coven- if he was in this cemetary. She figured she'd take up his offer- whatever it may be. Why? If he wanted to snuff her- he would. She knew she didn't have much of a chance. He felt- so old. It felt as if something rough rubbed against her skin when he appeared on the grave. The sensation was unnerving so the vampiress simply forced herself to ignore it.

"I'm Carina," she offered her name, not really sure what else to say until he told her just how she might deal with her anger issues.

Pandora Lorrain - November 26, 2007 11:56 PM (GMT)
Did it suck to be stuck in a child's body? To some possibilities in life, it did suck and he hated it, but in other moments it made life so interesting. He could get away with so much, it also helped that he had telepathy, he could make anyone believe what ever they want.

Of course he was right, he knew it and there was nothing that was going to change that. He wasn't always right, he knew that much but there were times where he had interesting insight and knew the answers to questions that baffled many people. He loved to learn and was a person who enjoyed experimenting.

"Have you ever considered simply letting it all go? For example when you feed, to be gruesome as well. Tear your victim apart." He was simply seeing how she would react to it. "I get rid of my anger with torture, of course I use appropriate prey to do so." Almost anything worked, but he stuck to people that deserved death and he practiced at that same time. "Or if you wish, you can take it out on me and I'll try not to kill you."

Nikolaos - December 12, 2007 08:48 PM (GMT)
Carina listened with indifference. She wasn't shocked or phased. Torture and pain had ceased to shock her. She frowned. Carina had aquired the taste for death of her captors. Her sweet nature had been twisted by the bastards in that camp. And now- she was turning into them- killing for the sake of her own safety. She had to kill- but now she was being asked to step it up a notch and she knew- she knew she wanted to.

She wanted to do what they did to her. She wanted to destroy. And that anger and desire flooded her body far too regularily. Her brother would be so angry with her if he knew. But she didn't care.

Carina spoke slowly. "If I took it out on you- I would not win. I want to win. I want to be the one still standing. If I fight you I know I will come out more hurt than you." She shook her head. "I'd rather take my anger out on mortals but- Konrad says I should just randomly kill people- I don't see why not- they tried to kill us."

Unconsciously Carina touched her branded arm and stepped toward him.
Curious she asked. "But why do you care about how I deal? You probably don't care- so why are you talking to me?" her voice was patient.

Pandora Lorrain - December 12, 2007 11:59 PM (GMT)
Hale chuckled darkly. An odd sound coming from a child. He was dark and dangerous and many people stayed away from him, even the mortals felt something when he was around, unless he turned on the charm. Then he was seen as a helpless child.

"Child everyone likes to win, but you can't always win. What I am offering is an outlet. I hate over dramatic vampires, they upset me. I'm trying to turn you around, try to make you a better vampire and worthy of being one. You are an Ishak and Ishak are proud of their heritage. You need to learn that, be proud of being a vampire."

"You care what others think? What they think or say, shouldn't matter. This is your life, your path, your choice. No one should say what you should and shouldn't do. The only thing they can say is offer options, suggestions. Nothing more. You are an adult with a mind, use it. Decide for yourself."

Nikolaos - January 7, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
ooc-sry it's short. brain died.

Carina wasn't very creeped by the fact that the seeming child had such a dark laugh, she only listened to his words. She nodded and held her head just a little bit higher.
"Fine. Turn me around. I don't want to be overdramatic." she told him.
She should be proud- of being a vampire. She was proud- she was, but Konrad was getting his panties in a bunch all the time about who they should kill and who they shouldn't. It was driving her crazy! Her brother annoyed the hell out of her with his thought processes and somethimes- Carina didn't think Konrad a vampire at all. He had no thirst for blood in her mind- he was always so controlled around her. You would think he could open up to his sister.

Pandora Lorrain - January 7, 2008 10:39 PM (GMT)
(OOC: don't worry about it, hopefully your brain will jump start eventually...)

Hale sneered at her. "You have to start by wanting to be turned around. I can't do it, if you don't truly want it. If you don't want to be over dramatic there are a few things you have to do, the first is to get over yourself. Stop the self-pity that will only get you killed and I don't want a perfectly able vampire go to waste."

He was straightforward, there was not doubt about that. He said what when through his mind. He watched the younger vampire. "Is there something holding you back, perhaps your sire doesn't let you off your leash?"

Nikolaos - January 11, 2008 04:14 PM (GMT)
Carina frowned at him and nodded, listening. She watched him intently for a moment before taking a few steps to the left. She wasn't one for standing still for too long.

"My sire... no. He's long gone now. I kinda need a new mentor. Currently, it's my brother- Konrad. But he's..." she paused. "How should I say this?" Her brow wrinkled in thought as she thought about her brother.
She loved him alright, but sometimes he was so stupid. He was so.... ignorant of the amazing powers that they possesed. They were twins only in the womb, but once they had left- they had gone VERY seperate ways. They were twins even in the grave... but again- they both had gone very seperate ways.... Even now.

"He doesn't realize the potential we have and he- tries to restrict my feeding habits. It- annoys the hell out of me." She said, her voice an even tone. She wasn't angry at her brother, merely frustrated. "But his mind won't change- However, I don't plan on listening anymore-"

Pandora Lorrain - January 14, 2008 03:28 PM (GMT)
Hale listened, interested by the fact that she was a twin. That was some thing that was interesting. He had never heard of twins, or very rarely they weren't all that popular in Egypt. He titled his head to watch her. No one could control a vampire's desire and if she desired to kill then that was her decision.

"You would let your twin control you? Aren't you the same age? Does that mean that he has the right to control you?" He snorted as he shifted on the tombstone. He slid down from his spot and approached her. "I could be your mentor if you are interested in killing and death. I tend to like the same thing. It provides such energy."

He held his hand out to her. "Then don't listen to him, do what you please. Forget him and come with me. The night holds such possibilities for us vampires, we simply need to exploit those possibilities. What do you think?"

Nikolaos - January 30, 2008 11:49 PM (GMT)
Carina's eyes watched as the older vampire cocked his head to one side, obviously considering her.
"Yes. We are the same age and... yeah- he controls me pretty much, but I don't want him to. He just thinks he's stronger than me- I think it may be a male thing with him. His sister can't possibly decide things for herself. The brother has to tell her what to do--" Carina shook her head with a slight frustration. "I don't really get why he does it and why I listened- I just want to stop."

Carina couldn't help but smile slightly as he slid off his rock and stepped towards her, offering to mentor her. She nodded. "Yeah- yeah I'd like that."
He held out his hand.
She didn't hesitate to grasp his hand, feeling the terrible muscles beneathe his fingers.

"I think- that's a great idea. But, you never gave me your name?" she inquired, wondering if that was a mistake. Her voice was flat, only a tad excited, but she was far from bright and cheery. She just didn't swing that way. She might though- after a few drinks.
She had given him her name though, only made sense to get his- unless he was hiding from something. Or unless he wanted to remain "mysterious" and just simply not tell her.

Pandora Lorrain - February 4, 2008 05:03 PM (GMT)
Hale beamed at her as she took his hand. The smile made him look like a child, the one he had been before being turned. The one he pretended to be when he prayed on adults and asked for their help to find his parents. It was always such fun to lead them down an alley and scare them until their ever gory death.

He let a soft smile play on his lips. Mentoring someone who wanted to let go could provide endless amount of pleasure, of course they would have to be careful. The Amman could be an annoyance as that older vampire could be. Very careful indeed.

He started to pull her along. "You can call me Hale for now." Maybe he would tell her, his real name eventually but for now the nickname would do.

Nikolaos - February 13, 2008 12:48 AM (GMT)
That smile made him look eerily young. It was slightly- well no, not slightly.... it was downright creepy. Carina hoped the smile was genuine. It should be. They were going to have a good time together. She smiled back, flashing him a fanged smile.

"Hale" she said as their hands grasped each other. She nodded. "Nice name." She let him pull her along. She got a little giddy as she followed, excited at the thought of feeding- or of killing. Either or both would be fine. And even if there was no bloodshed- mental games were just as fun. It was nice to finally find someone who wanted what she wanted, who was what she wanted to be. And what did she want to be? She wanted to be an old as shit vampire who ransacked the world for all eternity. She wanted to fullfill, enhance, and transform the legends of old.

Unfortunately, vampires had to be sneaky now. They couldn't have public displays of violence and inhuman powers without a mass mind control vamp. And she wasn't one of those. She briefly wondered just what Hale's abilities were. More advanced than hers, undeniably- but maybe he could teach her some new moves. Maybe? She was just getting used to this strange vampire society in Demataire. And that was sad- because she was ninety- and most people take that long to adapt. But most people didn't have an annoying as hell twin brother.

Pandora Lorrain - February 25, 2008 07:08 PM (GMT)
Hale was creepy, he was perhaps the creepiest person you could meet and downright dangerous. His favorite past time was skinning people alive, of course it was practice and done to people who so far had deserved it. He had a thing against pedophiles. Eventually perhaps he would skin other people, yet so far he stuck to one category. Any other type of torture he used on everyone.

Hale gave her a close mouthed smile at the comment. they would get along just fine and perhaps she would be his friend. He wasn't the friendliest person, like any child he did have the annoying mood swings. Yet he could be very nice and kind. Again mood swings dictated his behavior.

"So what are you in the mood for? A couple? A single man or woman? Or perhaps you would like a thief?" Hale had no preference truly, he went after anything. Once he went after a cop or more wanted and realized that it was a stupid idea. Did he want the Amman on his ass? Nope.

Nikolaos - February 26, 2008 01:47 PM (GMT)
"In the mood for?" Carina wondered softly out loud. "Hmmm.... Couples are too easy to get. Most theives are idiots but they should be more fun than any single person. I don't care who it is as long as it's fun. They can't be too easy though."

Carina didn't really care who they bit, killed, or maimed tonight. Maybe that was because her brother had ordered her around all her life. Maybe she just wasn't used to making choices on her own. Wait- she had made her choices.... she had destroyed every Nazi guard that had ever looked at her mother. She had killed every one she could find, ripping them apart.... feet first so she could hear them scream.

Carina frowned before giving Hale a sweet smile. "I do, however, love blondes.... with blue eyes- white skin.... Red looks so good on them. It's their color." Carina pictured splashes of red across ivory skin, seeping into blonde hair- their blue eyes screaming for mercy. She licked her lips, but her face was impassive as she reminisced.

The young German vampiress followed the man-child where he led her and couldn't help but think that she looked extremely strange now, following a child, holding his hand. Well, she knew he wasn't a child. Luckily, they had encountered no one yet. But they would. And whoever it was that they ran into... poor them. Too bad she had outgrown pity.

Pandora Lorrain - March 2, 2008 10:55 PM (GMT)
Hale glanced at her as she listed what she preferred. She was smart, even Hale had to admit that. She thought like a smart predator and that was very important to be the hunter and not the hunted. Hale came to a dead stop as they both exited the cemetery. The only movement was his nose twitching as he caught the scents of the night.

Abruptly his head turned, he sniffed almost inquisitively. Amusement then flickered through his face. "How about a couple, both the male and female are blondes? I could hold one back while you have fun with the other or we could each have our own? What do you think?" Anticipation was all over Hale's face, he liked to have a partner in crime. He could always learned despite of the age of his partner.

"If this appeals to you, what plan of action should we follow?" Hale had a million ideas floating through his head, yet he wanted to let the younger one to come out with an idea. After all she had been restricted all these years, she should be able to come up with something creative.

Nikolaos - March 3, 2008 12:08 AM (GMT)
Carina smiled wickedly as he mentioned two blondes.
"Two blondes? My, my we're lucky tonight." she said, laughing softly, her sounds carried away by the slight wind.

Carina considered his ideas. "I like the first idea. Sharing humans is fun anyways- why split them?" she thought out loud. Carina met his eyes with a strange expression as he made clear that the choice was hers. It was her choice- and her life would be her choice from now on. And Konrad, Konrad would have no choice soon. Yes, she'd be sure of that. Payback was a bitch.

Her mind wandered back to their prey as she felt their warmth moving up ahead. She smiled slightly and thought for a moment. It was her choice- anything she wanted.
"Well...." she looked at Hale. "I do love mind games." She tilted her head to one side, wondering if Hale would be insulted if she asked him to pretend with her. She really thought it'd be fun to play a distressed mother looking for a child. The couple would naturally would help- blondes were retarded like that... and then they find the child hiding in the bushes, mother is happy as a clam, Hale grabs one from the front and she gets one from behind- and well, the fun could go on from there.

She wasn't sure, however, if Hale would be into that. She was slightly afraid to suggest it. She didn't want to disappoint him. She wanted to be creative, exciting, and the perfect hunting partner.

Pandora Lorrain - March 3, 2008 07:15 PM (GMT)
Sharing? Well Hale could do that for her. She seemed like a good sort for him to hang out with. They had so much in common and the first item on that list was the fun of killing. It also seemed that the more time they spent together, the more he enjoyed hearing her input. She also had that freedom of doing whatever she wanted. Hale simply needed to push her in the right direction.

He tugged her hand bringing them both to a full stop. "I do love the way your mind works, but my telepathy isn't all that great and me going into your mind to see what you want to do, is going to hurt. I'd rather have you spell it out for me. I'm up for anything and I won't hurt you if I disapprove. I promise." This was one promise that Hale was willing to keep, after all she was his partner in crime. Besides it was more fun this way, two were always better than one.

Nikolaos - March 5, 2008 12:25 AM (GMT)
Carina smiled at his reassuring words, she the child and he the adult. She stopped when his hand tugged her and listened when he talked.
She nodded and spoke softly, making sure her voice didn't carry on the wind. "Sorry- I don't want to hurt you by making you delve..." Oh- great vocab word- brownie points for Carina!

She paused before speaking again, a little unsure. "I look old enough to be your mother- perhaps we could play off that- a lost child kind of thing. Blondes usually have the IQ of a squirrel so I'm sure they'd help. If they don't help me find my babe then we can full out slaughter them, but if they do help- we could have some fun, dragging them on a chase- getting them all dirty and scratched up, distressed by the psychotic mother who is freaking out now that her son is lost...." Carina shrugged. "They find you in a bush and you get one from the front while I grab the other from behind and the fun could go on from there- maybe take out the woman first and let the man suffer a little more... I don't know- I kinda don't like mortal men of this age very much... they're dispicable." She frowned and met his eyes, arching an eyebrow.

"That okay?" she inquired, hoping he liked it- Maybe it wasn't the most creative idea... but Carina definitely thought it'd be fun. Send them on a fucking wild goose chase and then make them regret their charity. Wow... she was bitter.
Being a vampiress was like having eternal PMS.

Pandora Lorrain - March 10, 2008 06:51 PM (GMT)
It wasn't the most creative idea Hale had to admit that to himself. Yet it was her first time coming up with the idea and finally being free of the story, besides he always played the part of the lost child, it might be interesting to be the one that was going to be looked for. Besides it would be a different scenario.

"Unoriginal idea wise, yet I've never quite done this. It could be fun." It could be, Hale tended to be very picky, as a child was picky the only difference was that when Hale was upset and annoyed because his plan hadn't worked, heads tended to roll, literally. He gave her a beaming smile. "It's more than OK. I do like the idea."

He glanced towards the couple. "I hope that you can act hysterical and don't worry." He returned his look to her. "I'm going to go hide and you can find me. You'll come to me eventually. I'll influence their choice of direction." He gave her a wide smile, fangs flashing. "Have fun." With those final words, he was gone.

Nikolaos - March 13, 2008 10:08 PM (GMT)
His reassurance did just that- reassured her that she had all the time in the world to think up more creative ways to torment humans.
"Have fun," and he was gone. She smiled. She would have fun. This would be fun- even if it wasn't original- ripping out throats was always fun. There simply was no other way to do it.

Carina started to run towards the couple, panic in her eyes. At one time in her life-she had loved theatre and drama. It really showed- or rather it didn't show. Her performance was believeable in all aspects.
She held out her hands hysterically to the couple, her eyes wide, their blue pigment attracting the mortals instantly. She didn't need vampire wiles to draw people to her eyes. Their unique icy color in itself was draw enough.

Carina ran her hands through her hair with frustration.
"Please help me- my baby.... my son! He's gone! God, help me find him please!" she pleaded, clasping her hands together as the shocked couple's eyes filled with pity- now that they realized she was not mad, but in distress.
"He must've wandered off somehow- and in the night... Oh God- please help look. Maybe he's in the bushes? Oh God- what if he was kidnapped or injured? What if-?" Carina wondered aloud, feeling the mortals' hearts beat with anticipation as their sympathy drove them to begin looking for the child. They looked by the rocks, by the bushes, and by the swings- but little Hale couldn't be found.

"What's his name?" the woman asked as Carina's words were cut off by soft sobs, as if she had given up for her little boy. "Oh- don't cry love..." her voice was gentle and concerned. Foolish. It was foolish to show concern for anyone whom you did not know or intend to keep forever. Carina frowned.
"Why his name? Why do you need to know?" her voice was labored with sorrow.
"What will that do? It won't bring him back if you know his name!"

"We can call him," the female blonde explained. Carina smiled hopefully, playing the dumb human mother.

"Oh- wow-- That's such a good idea," her pout decreased as she spoke. "His name is Hale. Let's go an call him- we can keep searching... oh- thank you for helping me. My brain- I'm sorry I was freaking out before but... I just can't imagine my life without my son and-- he's lost in the darkness!"

Carina turned her head in sorrow and the woman patted her back as the man stared, showing less compassion than the female. carina would personally rip his fucking throat out for not comforting her. Wow, she sure aquired grudges easily. And she held them forever.

Carina and the woman began to call
"Hale, Hale!" as they searched through the bushes, Carina sniffling and sobbing every once in awhile. The man seemed interested in finding the child, but not in consoling the mother- whom he probably thought to be crazy. Well, he should get manners and learn to tolerate the crazies- he'd have two crazies to deal with in a little bit... and they'd be real as hell, not an act, and not a farce.

Pandora Lorrain - March 15, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)
Hale didn't rematerialize right away, it was more fun to simply watch them look for him. Carina was a very good actor and really seemed panicked. Depending on how it finished, they would most likely do it again, maybe they could switch it up, after all, he had often done the lost child looking for his parents.

He carefully watched the direction they were headed and his eyes lit up on a tree. If he could have smiled in his fog form, he most likely would have. He loved to climb trees and this one was big and would be perfect for what he had in mind. It was still a little far, so as a human child he wouldn't be able to hear them screaming his name. How he loved to hear that, he loved being the center of attention and what better way to do that, then pretending to be lost.

It wasn't long until he reached the tree and once there he rematerialized in the tree. He watched them and every now and again would tug at the mortals mind to head his way. Not giving them a direct path but more a simple suggestion. Mortals were weak, especially since they followed his suggestions. He wasn't that strong of a telepath.

It wasn't long until they were close enough so that he had to stop playing the charade and actually make a sound. "Mommy! I'm stuck!" He was a very good actor and actually looked the part. His eyes were wide with fear and his lower lip trembled as if he was trying not to cry. His eyes even looked watered up.

The two mortals looked up at him and the woman was whispering urgently in her partner's ear. He was obviously disagreeing with her and eventually caved in. "Listen up son, you are going to have to jump and I'll catch you ok?"

Hale shook his head vehemently. "I'm too scared."

The mortal man seemed annoyed with him. "Just jump sonny, I'll catch you."

Hale looked at him and nodded uncertainly. He braced himself and Hale jumped. At the last moment though he recentered the weight of his body, knowing that he would knock the man to the ground. Which he did. He pined the man there and looked at Carina. "Grab her."

Nikolaos - March 15, 2008 05:45 PM (GMT)
Carina could feel him pull the mortals, for they only traveled one way for awhile.
"Hale, Hale!" they called, Carina's sobs and sniffles accompanying their yells.
"Hale!" Carina yelled, joining in the hunt for the boy.

They came across a large ominous tree, it's leaves ripped away by the winter winds, the branches bare and naked... Hale- sitting in the tallest branch.
As he called to her, told her he was stuck- Carina stretched out her hands.
"Hale.." she whimpered, turning to the mortals. "Please do something- climb the tree- get a... I don't know... I-I can't climb up there to get him- I don't know how to climb. God..."

The woman whispered to her partner and Carina hid a sadistic smile behind one hand as they suggested the worst possible way to save the boy.
Hale looked perfect up in that tree- his eyes wide and fearful. Maybe he and the grounded vampiress should go on Broadway together. They were quite good at acting- Now... If only they could sing....

As Hale jumped into the man's arms- Carina saw the fire in his eyes and her own lit as he told her to grab the woman. It was easy- so easy. In a blink of an eye, before the woman could even react- Carina had her from behind, wrapping her arms around the woman's arms and torso with a tight grip- breathing along the woman's neck.
"How can I ever thank you for delivering my son to me?"
The woman's heart sped up, musically changing the rythm of the wind to fit the mood. Carina gave the woman a wicked smile and laughed as fear flashed through her eyes as she turned to look at her captor.

"Now Hale- who should be first? I think she should be- the man can take a longer time I think... he wasn't as helpful as she..."

Pandora Lorrain - March 15, 2008 05:59 PM (GMT)
Hale grinned at his 'mother'. They were very good, perhaps they should play in theater, he couldn't sing and didn't want to. They were simply too good and Hale was having fun. He looked down at the man and back at the woman that Carina held. The man was struggling under Hale and despite Hale's small body size he was extremely strong. He looked down at the man with a quizzical look on his face. "Fight all you want you are not going anywhere. I don't want you too." He sounded like a child, he looked like a child, but he definitely wasn't a child.

Hale looked at Carina and stood up, pinning the man in place with his telekinesis. He approached the woman and looked up at her. "You know, I think that you are right, besides perhaps I could teach you to skin the man alive, if you want to learn." His grin turned purely evil. "I've been practicing." It was at the exact moment that the woman in Carina's arm passed out.

Hale took a few steps back and realized that the man behind him was shouting. He gave him a dark glare and the voice was cut out. He return his look to Carina. "Mortals these days don't cooperate at all. It was much easier two thousand years ago." He let out a sigh. "Do you want me to wake her?"

Nikolaos - March 25, 2008 08:28 PM (GMT)
Carina frowned as she considered the woman. The man was being annoying so she shot him a wicked glare before turning back to the woman, contemplating Hale's question.
"Should we wake her/ I don't think she'll struggle as much as the man.. I think he'll be more fun. I think we should feed from her, drain her- for she'll have no one to live for after we kill the man. Ten... after we've fed- we'll have all the energy in the world to rip him apart... like making beef jerky."

She wrinkled her nose in thought. The woman had tried to help. Damn. She was getting too sympathetic. "I don't like this question- I say kill the woman and torture the man."

Carina tuned a hardened look towards the male as Hale's mind held him in place.
"That alright with you?" Carina asked him.
"You can wake her up though- so her blood pumps a little faster with the fear, but she's going to die first."

The man began to yell again, listening to their conversation. Carina growled and carried the limp woman with her as she strode over to the man before slappinghim across the face, laeving a horrible red mark that began to bruise almost immeadiately.
"Shut up will you or I'll sow your fucking mouth shut with your balls in it."
He shut up after that. Carina wasn't quite sure if she'd ever do that, but she was certain that the remark would keep him silent- at least until he started to feel pain.

"Alright- you wanna wake her Hale?" Carina asked, turning, woman in hand, to face her companion.

Pandora Lorrain - March 25, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
Hale watched her considering. He had unleashed a monster unto the world. Was he horrified? Nowhere near even horrified, he was at the absolute other end of the spectrum, jubilant and pleased. She had quite a temper on her and he quite liked that. He couldn't help but smile as she threatened the man. He approached them both and crouched next to the man. "You can believe that she most likely will." He then grinned, pointed teeth showing and all.

He stood back up and tilted his head, staring at the woman. He waited a moment and then with a sharp telepathic jab, poked her mind. She woke up with a scream of pure pain. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that..." Was Hale being sympathetic? He was never sympathetic, so there was no reason for him to start now. He was displaying concern, where he felt absolutely none.

His look went to Carina. "You can have that one, I've fed earlier tonight. I'm more interested in our manlier prey. When you are done, simply tell me. I'll be keeping our guest entertained." If you could call mild torture entertainment. He liked to cut people and he was well suited with the claws that seemed to appear where his hands had been seconds earlier.

He crouched next to the man and was actually making small talk with the man and it seemed that he didn't notice the horror and terror on the man's face. The man wanted to talk and Hale smiled like the child. "Was there something that you wanted to say?"

The man cleared his throat. "You seem like a nice boy, why don't you escape your mother and make a good life for yourself."

Hale blinked with a frown. "I don't think you understand. She isn't my mother and if anybody here is the adult, it's me. She is nothing but a child compared to me." He lifted a hand and the claws seemed to sprout and they sparkled in the moonlight. "Now shush, unless you want to scream."

Nikolaos - March 27, 2008 02:04 PM (GMT)
Hale's pointed grin brought a smile from the younger vampire as she met his eyes. Something dangerous and excited flashed through his very aware, very alive eyes. Carina was sure that the same expression raced across her eyes as well.

Her grin widened as the woman screamed and Hale apoligized.
"Now, now.... calm yourself- this won't hurt a bit..." Carina murmured against the woman's skin as she licked her neck tenderly, able to feel the jumping pulse just under the skin. All she had to do was break that tiny barrier..... and then the pulse would be hers. If only it would jump in her mouth, all the way down her throat, but it wouldn't.... No.... The heart would stop: The pulse would cease. What a pity.

Carina nodded as Hale spoke to her, only slightly aware of what he said. She was much more focused on the metallic liquid running through the woman's veins.
"You look like a Sandra Dee. I think that's what I'll call you--" Carina whispered as she kissed Sandra's neck.
"Say goodbye to Sandra Dee," Carina projected, looking up at the man with an intense stare. "Don't worry Sandra.... I'll kiss your partner goodnight for you. Goodbye."

And with that, Carina's mouth opened and punctured the pulse, trying not to rip the woman's skin apart, lest she get blood on her clothes. She'd wait until later to get her clothes bloody. The blood tasted fresh on her lips, the taste of pennies running down her throat, giving her strength, giving her power, giving her life.
She drank for a very long time, her strong throat convulsing with her swallows as she took as much blood in as she could, not caring whether the woman died or not. She finished drinking and noted that there was some blood left. She frowned as she pulled away from the woman in her arms.
"Well, that won't do.... Sandra-" Carina's fangs ripped across Sandra's throat quickly and the vampiress' split second movements kept her from being splattered by the amount of blood that sprouted from the jugular vein that she tore with her fangs.

The woman fell to the ground and Carina almost bounced over to Hale and the man.
"We should despose of her now or later?" she questioned, unable to keep the wicked smile off her face, her eyes sparkling with something horribly pleased.

She caught the comment that the man made about Hale. She shook her head as he assumed Hale was younger than she. Well, that was certainly a bad move. Hale was very proud of his age and power. The last thing that you wanted to do was to insult a vampire's ego. In fact, it probably was going to be the last thing that man did.

Pandora Lorrain - March 31, 2008 03:46 PM (GMT)
Hale though aware of what Carina did and aware as well because of the smell of the blood, kept his focus on the man. It was interesting to watch him thrash against his invisible barriers, trying to get up to save his woman. There was nothing he could do, after all he was only a pathetic mortal and unfortunately for him, he was quite defenseless against two vampires, especially one of Hale's age and power.

He shook his head. "We'll dispose of her later, as the same time as we will do with him." He grinned cruelly at the man, his claws skimming across his skin yet, it didn't cut the skin, it simply glided across the mortal's skin with a nick or a cut. He glanced at Carina, his fingers never stopping their movement, it was like he wasn't aware of what one of his hands was doing.

"My dear, young one, what do you think we should do with this one? I'm thinking torture, unless you have another idea all together that you would like to try. After all this is your night to rediscover who you are and get away from that annoying brother of yours. So what shall we do?" It was her night. the fact that Hale had willingly given her one of the prey they had hunted together, showed how he felt. Usually he was quite territorial, but today he was willing to share and listen to another's input.

Nikolaos - April 5, 2008 01:14 PM (GMT)
As he questioned her, Carina stepped forward and moved to stand beside Hale. "I've never tortured someone before..." she replied, meeting the man's gaze with a soft smile. She reached out to touch his cheek.
"I couldn't possibly choose where to begin." It was almost like choosing a favorite star in the heavens. You couldn't possibly choose when all the choices were so wonderful in their own right.

Carina watched his hands nick and cut certain places and she couldn't help but watch the small pools of blood rise up from the little cuts.
"I think I need to learn. Show me Hale.. Please?"

Pandora Lorrain - April 5, 2008 03:55 PM (GMT)
Hale stared at her. "You've never tortured anybody and you call yourself an Ishak? The shame and the pain of it." He shook his head almost mournfully. "Well then it seems that I will have to give you a crash course in said torture." Where was the youth heading these days when an Ishak had never tortured and didn't know where to start.

Hale lifted his hand so she could see his claws. "I have claws and often that is enough to freak mortals out. It can be fun to see them run around like a chicken with it's head cut off. There are days where I find it very entertaining after all it can be interesting to hunt. That is itself is a form of torture, a mental one."

He turned to look at the man who was now sweating. He knew that there was no way that he was going to survive not with these two psychos. Hale patted the man's cheek. "We are more than your run of the mill psychos." He returned his gaze to Carina to continue the lesson. "Now because I have these claws, it helps me cut skin open. If you don't have claws I suggest you get a dagger or knife. Now my powers tend to be quite extensive so I tend to do something like this." He cut a long cut straight down the man's arm, missing purposely the main artery and once he was done a small flame danced down the man's cut, cauterizing the wound. He smiled at Carina, like a benevolent teacher. "Any questions?"

Nikolaos - April 9, 2008 11:53 PM (GMT)
Carina hung on every word like a thirsty refugee searching for water, like a lost soul listening to the Messiah, like a fat boy staring at a piece of cake.
"I do love chickens..." she mused as he held up his hand. She reached out, almost in a trance to touch the sharpened nails. She didn't press hard enough for them to break skin, but she could tell they were sharp. She smiled almost lovingly as she pulled her hand away.

"I'm so jealous," she remarked as she recoiled from his claws. The human male dared to look at them when Hale spoke. She felt anger surge just beneath the skin but it fled as quickly as it had appeared. Psycho? She wasn't psycho? Well, perhaps she was....
It didn't matter. The stupid human was going to die. Who the hell cared if they were psychos or not? She sure didn't.
"Psycho and proud peaches," she remarked after Hale before he began instructing her again. The attention she gave him was almost unnerving, her willingness to learn how to cause maximum pain frightening.

She nodded. She'd have to take her knife out with her more often now. It'd be her new toy, hopefully her favorite toy. Her eyes widened as flame danced across the man's arm. "How do you learn how to do that?" she asked, "Or is the trait inherited by sire?" She turned to look at him curiously, finding that it was difficult for her eyes to leave the sight of the strange phenomenon of before.

Pandora Lorrain - April 10, 2008 05:58 PM (GMT)
Hale smiled. He was turning out to be a good teacher. He actually surprised himself and her eyes watching him and drinking up everything he said made him actually beam almost proudly. He could tell that she was keeping all the informations and was going to use it later to her advantage. "As you age, powers and significant changes tend to happen. This was one of the changes that I went through."

Hale was a little worried that perhaps he would have a too profound impression on the younger vampire and then shrugged it off. She would be a good Ishak vampire and he would make sure that none interfere.

He frowned at the mention of his sire. "No idea, I never met him." Perhaps it was one of the reasons that he had turned so cruel. He had to let his anger of being abandoned out somehow and this was it. Of course the vampire that had taken care of him, had been like a mother to him, but she had died too. Damn mortals sometimes didn't know what was good for them. "I tend to think that it comes with age. After all I was there before Cleopatra was even a pharaoh." He glanced at the man and gave him a childlike smile, before looking back at Carina. "Anything that you always wanted to try on someone?"

Nikolaos - April 18, 2008 01:52 PM (GMT)
Carina nodded, absorbing every word he spoke- every lesson he breathed.
She said nothing at the mention of his sire. It wasn't important anyways. Her sire had been her brother- so if things were inhearited, she was going to be a piece of shit vampire. Konrad seemed unable to do anything but bite and complain. Yuck. She certainly didn't want to be like him. She wanted to have fun.

The vampiress arched her brows as he revealed a loose estimate of his age. Wow. He was quite old, but she knew he was old- it made her jealous. She could wait to be that old- be that powerful, but maybe- just maybe- studying under him would speed up the timeless process of being the perfect killing machine. If only the Nazis had discovered Vampirekind. That would have made for an interesting Holocaust.

"Well.... I've always wondered what was inside.... Never seen the whole body. I mean I've seen bowels- stomach- and spleen.... but never a heart- never a lung--" she thought aloud. "But that's just curiousity...."

Pandora Lorrain - April 19, 2008 06:26 PM (GMT)
Hale snickered he had a loose idea of what she was thinking and the jealousy was all over her face. "Come on Carina, you might be completely different from her sire, after all there are reports of fledglings having different powers from the sires. A sort of evolution if you prefer. You simply need to do try to be different." He paused, looking at her. "Besides what truly matters, is what you do with them."

He went through his pockets and pulled out a small dagger and showed her it. It was beautifully decorated and from a time that was non-existent. "I got this a very long time ago and it is an item that is very close to my heart. I am willing to let you use it, if you are very careful." He grinned at the man on the ground, before looking at Carina. "It's very sharp and will cut through skin like butter. So be very careful not to destroy any organs if you want to get a closer look at them." It was as if he was doctor teaching another how to cut without causing unnecessary damage to a patient insides. Of course they were here to kill. "Can I trust you with my dagger?'

Nikolaos - April 20, 2008 04:24 PM (GMT)
She couldn't help but let a twisted but bashful smile grace her features as he noted her jealousy. She laughed softly under her breath as he spoke and nodded. "Of course- yeah.... what you do with them" she mused, possibilities floating around in her head.

Her eyes widened as he pulled the beautiful dagger into the moonlight- the stars making the hilt glint with majesty. Even the human's eyes widened- but not in awe like Carina's- but in fear. Cut through skin like butter? Sounded wonderful- sounded more than wonderful. Perfect for a dissection- perfect but dangerous. She nodded as he cautioned her to be careful.

"Yes, you can trust me." She told him, her voice firm with promise. Carina had always been loyal. She- even now was still loyal to her family. Except her brother. Oh no- he had lost her loyalty or rather her submission.
She placed her hand on her heart and gave him a smirk. "Cross my heart and hope to die...." She teased, but her icy eyes were serious.

Pandora Lorrain - April 21, 2008 05:11 PM (GMT)
Hale grinned as he saw her eyes widen and he could understand the way she felt. When he had first found the dagger, which had been a long time ago, it had been dirty, but something about it called him to it. So he had picked it up and as a hobby had decided to restore it. He had been surprise to see the decorated hilt under all the grime and since that point on he had kept it on him, though often it was unseen and hidden in his pockets.

He gave her a look over and flipped the blade in his hand catching the blade end and offering the hilt to her. With the movement he had done, the blade shimmered, sending off shimmers of light, mostly blue because of the inlaid sapphires. "Alright, now remember don't cut too deep and you don't have to worry about him screaming, not a sound will be uttered." Paralyzed vocal cords, he loved to do that.

Nikolaos - May 19, 2008 07:53 PM (GMT)
Blue flashes of light reflected in her own frigid irises as Hale flipped the blade- catching it and offering her- offering her the beautiful tool. She licked her lips with anticipation as she took the knife- a little cautious.

"Don't cut too deep...." she murmured, half-entranced by the knife. She twisted it in the air just above the mortal's face and smiled, looking down at him for a moment- her eyes a little lost. She didn't see him- the human being. She only saw- a dissection- an experiment.... just like what they had gone through- what they had been put through....

Her wrist angled slightly and she could hear the soft flesh lyse as the blade punctured skin just above the biceps- Carina's other hand peeling back the layers of epidermal tissue to find pools of blood. She couldn't see anything. There was too much blood soaking through and covering the muscle. She could feel the man mentally twist underneath her but Hale's powers kept him in check. Oh, it would be so wonderful to paralyze. However, Carina found that sometimes she liked to wrestle while groping for the heart- digging her nails into that thumping, humming, splendid cardiac apple.

Pandora Lorrain - May 19, 2008 11:44 PM (GMT)
Hale handed her the dagger and saw the way that she handled it. It was delicately done and he knew that he could trust her with it. Perhaps he should give her a dagger of her own. He had quite a collection and he knew that she would put it to good use, she seemed to have the same instincts as him, it was delightful to find someone like himself.

She was in a trance and Hale let her be. After all she was the one experimenting not him and her trance would make her able to concentrate. That was always better when it came to cutting someone that was alive open. Hale made sure that the human, that was trying to twist away from his control, didn't die on them. That would ruin a perfectly good evening. Hale made the blood continue through the veins and made sure that the amount that was lost was negligent to the amount he needed to survive.

Nikolaos - May 20, 2008 07:23 PM (GMT)
Carina drew back the blade and turned her attention to his fingers. She pulled his hand, with one hand up to her face- touching her lips to his fingers lightly before running the blade over his palm- pulling away skin and muscle to find bone. She smiled as she looked down at the phlanges- letting her free fingers run over the bones.

She licked her lips as the blood seeped out of the wound- licking his wound briefly before moving closer to him, dropping his hand as his face twisted with pain, but that didn't matter.

Tha-thump-Tha-- thump. Tha-thump.

His heartbeat sped and raced as she came so near- close enough to kiss. Carina laughed and touched the tip of the blade to his jaw- cautiously. What else did she want to see before running the blade down his chest? Did she want to pull out his eyes? Examine the muscles behind his neck? Twist his hair and pull it out?

Pandora Lorrain - May 27, 2008 06:24 PM (GMT)
Hale watched her and the way she skillfully used the knife. He simply watched, after all sometimes it was better to enjoy the show. it was well known that you can't teach an old dog new tricks, which is perhaps why he was glad to have a fresh pair of eyes to look at things for him. It could be a learning experience for him and truthfully he was already learning. He had never thought to go looking for the bones of someone, it was an interesting idea.

He stepped closer to her and spoke to her ear. "You are a natural." She was and he was proud of her, affection entering his voice could tell that he was pleased, pleased with her desires to kill and pleased with her desire to know what to do to torture better. He could feel her hesitation as to what to do next to the man, before killing him. "We have millions of nights ahead of us and you will be able to try all that goes through your head."
