Title: Fresh Blood
Description: A new arrival to the city

She walks slowly to her window and pauses inches before it. She looks down on the silent city below as it rains softly and the lightining plays around the taller buildings. As she presses her right hand flat against the glass she smiles softly.

"I have arrived..."

She drums her nails against the pane as she walks away and prepares for the night. She moves to her room where she changes into a pair of dark slacks and a fitted knit sweater. She has the hunger on this night, and wishes not to ruin her clothing. As she sits on the edge of her bed, she laces her boots and thinks quietly on who she may run into, hoping that someone of worthy status will be lurking about. She grows tired of the hum drum night life and secretly craves the company of another like herself.

Standing, she motions for her ghoul to look her over...her vanity never ceases. As he nods in approval, she motions for him to get out of her sight as she heads out. She takes the elevator down to ground level and walks quickly through the lobby and steps out into the rain. Immediately she is soaked, but she revels in the wind and the rain striking her face. Standing amongst the sparse crowd of people running with their umbrellas and overcoats, she grins....time for supper.

A young man brushes hard against her as she observes the crowd.

"Beat it bitch!"

She turns and follows him with her amber eyes and walks behind him, hanging back just 5ft or so. She studies the back of his wet neck, counting the pimples and stray hairs from his $5 hair cut. He paused at an intersection and waited for the light to change along with a crowd people. She stepped up beside him and looked up, he was taller, slight build...still very ugly even for a mortal.

When the light changed and the crowd began to move forward, she reached out and grabbed the young man by the arm and pulled him backwards. He whisked around and frowned.

"What do you think you're doing! Get your hands...."

She took her right hand, reached back, and slapped him hard across the face, breaking his words mid-sentence. As he stumbled to remain on his feet she dragged him away from the corner, ignoring the eyes of the masses, who probably thought this was a lover's quarrel.

Stopping along at the edge of a alleyway, she shoved him hard against the brick wall and leaned into him. Grabbing his jaw in her hands she forced him to look into her bright eyes.

"You should learn to be more respectful towards your superiors, you sorry sack of flesh."

He tried to push her away, in turn she shoved his head backwards into the wall. The sound of the cracking of his skull brought a playful smile to her full lips. When he slowly looked at her for the last time, she bared her fangs and sank them deep into the flesh of his neck, shaking and digging deeper as the fountain of his life blood poured into her mouth. He tried to fight, but she pressed into him and held his hands back against the wall. She could hear people passing by, shuffling to a stop at the sight of the two together before breaking into a run. She took him slowly, slurping loudly, enjoying her meal.

As she pulled away she let his body fall, it landed on the sidewalk, gapping hole side up. She only licked at her bloody lips and stepped over him, walking away.

"Yummy"

Returning to her home, she stripped down from the clothes she had worn out on the street and stepped into her closet. There she put on a black silk halter dress with a dark blue ribbon trim around the waist and edge of the skirt. She slipped into a matching pair of blue slingbacks and let her hair down.

"Now...to see just who lurks here in this town."

She had seen no one on her brief trip downstairs, this told her that this city was not a vampire mecca as her former New Orleans was. Just as well, less vampire kids to struggle with, more humans in the feeding pool.

She went downstairs and told the doorman to hail her a cab. She soaked in the looks of people passing by who looked her over. So very vain. Once the cab arrived she slid inside and knocked hard on the window.

"Westminstral Park"

She sat back and curled her lip at her bare back touching the dirty seats, she needed to secure her a car soon. She watched out the window as the city began to pass her by.
