Title: Rename Brishen, Get A Cookie!
Description: Help.Me....

Brishen - March 12, 2004 01:49 AM (GMT)
Okie. So. Kira wants to rename her character, because 'Brishen' has never fit him.
Kira needs suggestions for, first off, a nationality for him (unofficially Irish, but, like, I dunno if this is old Celtic-Gaelic tribe Irish, or later than that, and other suggestions are welcome e.e). I want nationality first, because then I can use one of many nifty name sites to try and pick a name that'd match his background.

For any who dun know, which is probably the majority of you, I should prolly give an example post for Brish. I dun even know enough of him to actually describe his personality. *sigh* Anywho. This is the first post I ever did with him, which Marcie dear salvaged for me.

Settled in one of many shadowed corners to be found in the dusky tavern, a young-seeming man with a very fair complexion and straw coloured hair sat eyeing the slumping forms of the mortals around him. Be they here on purpose or by accident, down on their luck or frequent patrons, young or old, obese or painfully thin, they all had two things in common; they were the lower class of a great city, and they were all prey. He observed in amused silence as a bear of a man clad in studded leather attempted to woo a passing waitress with his drunken antics, and was turned down with an aggravated look as the young woman passed.

The stranger had to admit that the waitress did have a certain appeal to her; was she aware of the way her hips swayed with each step she took, plump buttocks slipping partly into view from beneath her embarrassingly short skirt? The man in the darkness fingered his finely chisled chin thoughtfully, and then lifted one pale hand to beckon the girl over. She came without hesitation, relieved to be away from the sulking biker who glared at her retreating form from over his third mug of beer. "What'll you have, sir?" she asked the quiet young man, pulling a pencil out from behind her ear and twirling it between her fingers. The man smiled softly and reached up to catch the fluttering digits of her hand in his own, and with gentle pressure pulled the girl closer.

"I'd have you kept safe from the likes of that leather-clad lard," he replied, caressing her with his words as she gazed into his eyes in a startled manner. She smiled, awkwardly, hesitantly, and replied, "That's thoughtful of you, but when I took the job here, I knew that jerks like that came with it."
The stranger gave a regretful sigh and nodded, seeming to be in perfect sympathy with her ordeal.
"Perhaps, then, I could take you elseware, if only for an evening's respite?" he asked, his subtle smile all the more dazzling and mysterious in the partial light. The waitress hardly took the time to consider; her smile became more confident as she nodded.
"I can take my break now. Just give me a moment to get my coat," she said, starting to pull away from his grip.
"Oh, don't worry about it. You can borrow mine," the alluring man replied, getting to his feet with the grace of a feline and pulling his white leather trench coat free of the back of his chair, in the same movement placing it over her slim shoulders.
"I...thank you," the girl said, blushing faintly now as she pulled the coat, at least two times bigger than she was, in closer.
"Don't mention it," the stranger responded, continuing to smile as he lead her towards the door.
"Oh, I don't know your name..." the waitress began as he held the door open for her.
"You may call me Brishen, or Brish. Whichever you prefer."

Twenty minutes later, a tall man clad in black sparing for his white leather trench coat reentered the bar.

Two blocks over, a stray dog sniffed at the crumpled corpse of a young waitress, discarded in the alley behind a butcher's shop.

Um, um, um.. I'll try. I really want a cookie!

I've got to admit, though.. I only scanned through the post. Very long, and my contacts are getting blurry. Must blink often..

But, um.. Yes. The first name that came to mind is Caleb. Which is Hebrew, and means 'faithful, bold.' I don't know why, but the name Caleb makes me think of a very charming, powerful older man. Maybe because it's the name of the dude on The O.C. Which reminds me, I didn't watch The O.C. this week!! *ack!*

Yes, um.. My seconds suggestion is Callum. It's also my favorite. It's actually Celtic/Gaelic, so there's that part you wanted. But it means 'Dove,' and I take it Brishen isn't a big one. But I really like the name Callum, so I thought I'd mention it. Actually, if you don't use it, I may. = )

So, um.. I realized I've said 'um' a lot in this post.

Hey, I replied to that one I believe didn't I? hehe. Yeah, that was way back when when I was actually active and posted x_x

But yeah, I'd suggest some names and nationalities but I'd feel odd doing so, seeing as I may rp Rie with him alot (but the sooner you get this done Im assuming the sooner you can finish your reply to her *hugs* If you still want to that is..hehe) but yeah, I s'pose suggesting a nationality wouldn't bother me to much, I jus' gotta think..hrm..*thinks*

*is unsuccesful in her thoughts* =.=; Ox sucks at thinking..Um..Yeah, kind of pointless post here now, but at least you know i'm thinking, and people know Ox is still alive...heh. But yeah, If I think of anything I'll be sure to let you know..Yesh..*hides under her normal hiding place, a rock*

(Oh yeah, did I ever ask you if you had aim or msn messenger?)

Caleb...s'not so bad, but I dun really see "Brishen" as being of Hebrew origin, eheh.

Callum...I think there's a char in one've my fave books named Callum, hee. Not one've fave chars, hence why I only think there is. ^.^' I might look through that book though, see if there are any names I can scavange from it...

An', Ox, I think that's the one you replied to, yep, yep. 'Cause "Brishen" hasn't actually RPed with anyone else, that I can remember, hee.

(No, ye didn't. MSN I'm beyond_reality16@hotmail.com )

Alright.. Let me know if you don't use the name Callum, because I'm really warming to it now. = )

Good luck picking one, though.. I remember I was indecisive for hours when I decided to change one of my character's last name. I finally decided on Colwyn, her maiden name. Then I had to go and change about a dozen other last names, to make it fit. {Good think I love her the best!}
