Title: Tracking
Description: "Good dog Jerry..."

Catherine - March 8, 2004 04:58 PM (GMT)
Once they reached the alley where Catherine had been attacked, Jerry tensed angrily. The scent of blood was faint, some from Catherine's wound, but also slightly fainter and more distant was the scent of another human's blood. That was why Jerry was ticked. The dog immediately started moving, nose to the ground as he started to lead them down the street to a different alley.

A deep growl came from his throat. There was many drops of dried blood on the ground, most of them around a dumpster. Jerry paced infront of it, obviously thinking they were near their target, but not knowing how to reach him. Jerry could tell the dumpster had nothing in it, it smelled new, never used. It was a hidden door into a walled off room in a nearby building, the man's hide out.

Catherine went over to the dumpster, quickly locating the handle. She gave it a turn, but the door didn't open. The man must have baracaded himself in, expecting her to come after him.

Sky - March 12, 2004 11:20 PM (GMT)
Sky followed Jerry and waited patiently for Cat to try the door, he shuffled infront of if an tried the handle for himself to make sure. Lightly tapping the door where he expected to be a bolt of some sorts he listened for any sounds of hard metal contrasting to the hollow sound in other parts of the door.

"Two ways, subtle and we try to break the bolt quietly. Or we can just beat the shit out of it till it is off its hinges."

Catherine - March 13, 2004 09:29 PM (GMT)
"To hell with subtle." Catherine said, pulling out the Barreta and shooting at the area wher the botl would be. After three shots the door swung open. Cat smiled and motioned to Jerry, who went in low to the ground to sniff out the man. Jerry moved as any trained police dog might, acting cautious as he headed through the fake dumpster towards the hide out. It was nearly pitch black, as the man was counting on Catherine and Jerry, neither of whom had the best of night vision.

Sky - March 23, 2004 08:22 PM (GMT)
"Wait here, I'll have a scout around."

He paused in the entrance, the pitch black was too dark for mortal eyes to pierce but Sky could see quite well. As he peered into the darkness from the warm light of the street lamps his vision changed colour and adjusted to the corridor behind the door. He took a small step into the dark and closed his eyes, looking deep into his mind as he tried to merge with the shadows. After a minute of stillness he side stepped almost into the plaster and couldn't be seen at all.

Catherine - March 25, 2004 02:47 PM (GMT)
The man hadn't seen Sky come in, but knew Catherine would be hesitant about entering the pitch dark without some idea of where anythign was. He had on nightvision goggles, and was holding a subrifle. He moved foorward a bit, staying out of Cat's line of sight. He smiled, knowing that even though she couldn't see him, he could see her just fine. He saw the dog coming in.

Cat tried to see in there, wondering where the guy was, and why he hadn't shot her yet. Thinking a moment, she saw Jerry start to go in. "No Jerry, stay out here, I'll go in." The dog halted obediently, and stayed put to watched the enterance as Cat leaned on the door and took a step in.

The man took aim at her once the dog was out of sight, and started to squeeze the trigger.

Sky - March 25, 2004 06:57 PM (GMT)
Sky after absorbing himself into the shadows slid across the wall. It was a really unique sensation to him, the first time he had properly used this power, and he felt as though he was gliding through the wall itself.

As he stepped sideways slowly through the shadow he began to see the man with the gun, and goggles. He held his undead breath and heard the gunman click the safety off before gently reaching for the trigger. As he did so Sky lept off of the wall and out of the shadow with a ear shattering yell, Sky's eyes were ablaze in the dark burning red with flames licking the pupils.

Time slowed down for everyone except for Sky who crashed into the man. He swift kicked his chest and fell over onto him, the man on his back with Sky on his chest. Sky grabbed at his face, forcing him to expose his neck and he paused.

The gun had fallen forwards. It span twice in the air and slowly came down with a clatter and then a shot where the trigger fired the gun.

Catherine - March 25, 2004 07:18 PM (GMT)
There was a gasp right after the shot went off, and Cat fell backwards. Then scent of blood was in the air as Jerry came over to her, whimpering.

The dog then looked up growling, not at Sky, but at the man. Jerry ran over as fast as was possible for a German Shepherd. Jerry pushed by Sky, not meaning to tackle of injure him, he was just in the way. Jerry didn't hesitate to start tearing at the man's face angrily, not seeming interested in giving Sky a shot at him.

Cat sat up slowly, holding her chest. She didn't say anything, just looking at the man, Jerry, and Sky.

Sky - March 26, 2004 11:20 PM (GMT)
Sky heard the shot but only vaguely; it was in the back of his mind, just another distraction which he had become so used to blocking out. He continued to thump away at the man's neck sitting on his arms and forcing his head to the side.

Then Jerry barrelled into him, knocking him slightly off to the side, and he saw out of the corner of his eye Cat just sitting there. And he paused, the noises faded out and he watched a small red patch starting to grow and trickle. At once Sky was off of the man, leaving Jerry to mutilate his uncoinsious body, and by Cat's side.

"I don't know what to do," he said weakly as he pressed firmly on the wound, hopefully somehow slowing the blood loss. "Of all the killing powers my kind possess, we don't have one to save life. If I could give away all my gifts right now for such a power I would do it here and now."

Catherine - March 27, 2004 04:06 AM (GMT)
Cat coughed and smiled at him. "I'm not letting that bastard win..." She whistled and Jerry looked up from his task. Cat whinced as she made a motion with her hand, and the dog took off, returning dragging the purse. Cat tried to roll her shirt up over the wound, moving Sky's hand.

"The lighter.... You can use it to carterize the wound... at least that will keep me from bleeding to death, I hope." She would have done it herself, but her natural instinct to flinch away from the pain would make it difficult. Not to mention she was a bit weakened already. The bullet seemed to have hit an artery or something, as she was bleeding rather badly.

Sky - March 30, 2004 10:35 PM (GMT)
Sky's hand dived into the handbag and pulled out the lighter, he opened the metal casing and tweeked the flame controller to make the flame larger and hotter. He shuffelled to move his weight onto Cat restricting her movement of the chest.

"Close your eyes and grip onto something, preferably nothing damageable to me." He whispered into her ear as he flicked the lighter and began to burn the wound.

Catherine - March 31, 2004 01:54 PM (GMT)
She grabbed onto the closest object in reach, her purse, and dug her nails into it, gritting her teeth as not to scream. Not like screaming would make matters any better, it would just set Jerry off into attacking Sky. Tears ran down her cheeks and Jerry cocked his head, smelling the burning flesh. He growled lowly, his gaze moving to Sky. Jerry's fur bristled as he snarled at Sky, tensing to leap at him.

Sky - April 2, 2004 09:17 AM (GMT)
Sky finished and let the lighter fall to the ground, he took Cat's arm and put it over his shoulder then lifting her up he carried her back towards his appartment. He tried to make each step as still as possible, so any sudden moves didn't hurt but found it difficult at the speed he was moving.

"Okay, I can't take you to a hospital to get it sorted. I think I'll need to try at my place then in the morning I'll take you near a hospital."

Catherine - April 2, 2004 01:32 PM (GMT)
Jerry growled lowly at Sky, teeth bared and fur still bristling. From the way he was acting, it was a surprise he hadn't attacked already. Cat smiled slightly at Sky, "Thanks for helping... you didn't have to."

When he mentioned the hospital however, she made a face. "I hate hospitals. They ask too many questions." Jerry followed closely as best he could, still obviously ticked off.

Sky - April 2, 2004 02:35 PM (GMT)
"One reason why I never go there, if they ever asked for a Blood sample of me then I guess I'd be fucked."

Sky picked up the pace a little, he intended to get back within the hour. He assumed he had some disinfectant to keep the wound clean and a couple of bandages.

As he looked over his shoulder and into the dark corridor where the man laid all he saw was a puddle of blood, both the gun and man were gone.

Catherine - April 2, 2004 03:15 PM (GMT)
Cat placed her hand over the burned wound. It still hurt badly, and she could feel the bullet still inside her. She closed her eyes. "I hope that asshole died from his injuries." She sighed, thinking. She knew that she had lost alot of blood, and even though Sky had stopped the external bleeding, she could still have internal bleeding. She opened her eyes and looked at Jerry. If she died, or even just passed out, she knew Jerry would likely attack Sky. "Jerry. Si je vais toujours, obéissez-le." Jerry's previous owner had taught him most commands in foreign languages, so she could only hope she remembered the right one.

Sky - April 2, 2004 10:17 PM (GMT)
Sky rounded the final corner and laid Cat at the bottom of the steps leading to his appartment. Things looked fairly grim from his point of view, bullets were a large issue for Sky as bullets usually meant death. He was determined to prevent anything happening to Cat as he had grown to quite like her.

"Last bit, holding up okay?" He didn't wait for an answer as time was off the essence and put Cat over his shoulders as he climbed the stairs as carefully as he could.

Catherine - April 3, 2004 05:16 AM (GMT)
"I'm hanging in there... Just kinda tired." She looked back at Jerry, noticing the dog was still just as angry and tense as before her order. "Jerry... obey him." She muttered, closing her eyes.

Jerry growled when her eyes closed, eyeing Sky. despite her orders, he blamed him for her injury, and had no intention of listening.
