Title: Bring Me To Life
Description: (Panda and Darkie)
AngelWings - December 1, 2006 04:06 AM (GMT)
Three weeks... It had been nearly three weeks since Kanti had put herself into a coma of sorts over the pain of losing Jason.
She lay comfortably on a bed of furs in her cave deep in the forest at the foot of a small mountian, the banket Chi ahd made for her covered her small body. The blood was cleaned from her body, her clothing changed with much difficulty by her brother. She was still in deerskin, but it was not covered with blood as before.
There her body lay, cold and stiff, though perfectly lifelike, as if under some enchantment. The tattoos on her face were still as bright as ever, her lips were pale, but still a blush red.
Only another vampire would be able to tell she was alive. Only another vampire would know how to wake her. Asku did... he knew how to wake her, but she had requested that she sleep until Jason came for her again. She wanted to wake up in his arms...
And by the sleeping state of her body, her brother must have stuck to her wishes. He accepted the fact that Kanti loved him and accepted the man in her life.... But it had been nearly three weeks and he hadn't come for her yet... But asleep in eternal dreams she didn't know how much time had gone by... Or even what was going on around her...
Pandora Lorrain - December 1, 2006 04:43 AM (GMT)
Kieran was walking around and he had a bag on his back. He wandered as always and watched his surroundings with an intensity unknown to a 15 year old. He climbed the hills in the area, getting a scoop of the area and climbed. He was more interested in the caves in the area, wanted to know if one could get to the bottom from the top.
He entered the first cave he went across and it was tiny and held no interest. The second though seemed somewhat decorated. Not only was it decorated but it was lived in, he could feel a presence. Nothing huge, but someone was here on the verge on death or in a coma state, he couldn't decide which.
As he entered further, he could see the lying form and curiosity overtook him. He approached and kneeled down next her. She was vampire, that much was clear, she wouldn't be in this state. It was like letting herself die, except that vampires didn't die of starvation.
He gently brushed strands of hair out of her face and his breath caught in his throat. She was beautiful, more beautiful that anybody he had ever seen. He had this intense urge to wake her up, listen to her talk and see those eyes open up and look at him.
At that moment, he knew what he was going to do. He was going to wake her, he just hope that it wouldn't be a mistake or a total bust. He looked down at his wrist and knew what to do. He tore at his wrist and put the wound close to her mouth, letting the blood drip in her mouth. He waited patiently, gently rubbing her throat and helping the liquid to drop down her throat. He inhaled deeply and waited.
AngelWings - December 1, 2006 04:56 AM (GMT)
She didn't feel the vampires hand on her face... didn't hear or feel his presance...
It was only a few moments after he had trickled the blood down her throat did her body begin to stir... As her heart began to beat faster, stronger, her lips quivered slightly, her tongue poking around at the blood on her them. She could feel someone near her... She could smell them... But... but they were too strong... Was it... Her head rolled slightly, turnign the blue flowers up to the other, as she gave a small murmur. She was still so weak...
Asku had brough a few bottles of dead blood for when she awoke... They were sitting in the small box at the back wall of the cave... But she hadn't known that of course...
Her lips moved as if she was trying to speak, but not a word came out.
Jason... Where was he? Was this him... It was a man... But he didn't smell like Jason... Or Asku... What was going on? Another weak murmur came from her throat.
Pandora Lorrain - December 1, 2006 05:09 AM (GMT)
Kieran saw her move and he could smell some blood somewhere in the cave. He moved away from her rapidly getting the dead blood in the bottles. Keep her awake no matter what the cost.
He grabbed two bottles and made his way back to her. He placed one next to him and helped her sit up. He slowly and gently poured a bit down her throat. With his mind he was willing her to move, willing her to wake up, willing her to open those pretty eyes of hers, he was sure that hey were beautiful, it could be no other way.
He could hear her murmur though there was no protest to being fed and he kept it up. He went slowly making sure that it got down her throat. He wanted to hear her voice, to see her reaction, he hoped that it wouldn't be brutal, he only wanted to help.
AngelWings - December 1, 2006 05:23 AM (GMT)
It... It didn't smell like Jason... but who else would try to wake her? She knew in her heart it wasn't Asku...
She felt arms lift her gently, a bottle at her lips... Blood... It was delicious... She needed it terribly so she drank quickly, luckaly vampires don't choke, so she needen't fear that.
Slowly she felt her strength returning, but she could drink no more now. Her hand went to the bottle and pushed it away softly. She leaned against the person holding her, unable to sit up on her own really, with a soft murmur. "Jason..." She whispered. "Jason is that you?"
Her odd blue eyes opened to look at the man holding her, but everything was blurry and dark, her vision hadn't quite restored yet. But now her nose was telling her what she had been dreading... It wasn't Jason's arms that held her...
"Who are you.... How... How long have I been asleep?" She asked grogily, her blue eyes blinking as she tried to clear her vision. She could see long hair though it was a man... light colored... Not Jason's dark hair... "Where's Jason...?"
Pandora Lorrain - December 1, 2006 05:33 AM (GMT)
The more she drank the more he felt relieved. When she spoke his widden, it was beautiful, just as she was. When he heard her name a man, he froze though he still held her. She had someone, he felt his heart stop.
What was he doing? He was waking a woman that he didn't know and now she was asking for a man that was probably her lover. Why was it that everyone had someone but him. He then mentally scolded himself. He hadn't been this desperate before what had happened to the strength he had possessed?
He spoke, his voice thick with his native scottish accent. He showed more when he was nervous and this was definitely one occasion of such. "I do not know a Jason and I have no clue how long you have been asleep. I recently arrived to Demaitre." He paused. "My name is Kieran Blair. Welcome back to the living." Her blue eyes were so like his, though his at the moment were dark blue, a show of his confusion.
AngelWings - December 1, 2006 05:53 AM (GMT)
She was right... It wasn't Jason... The voice, it was scottish... She could tell the accent. Jason was Brittish, like her father... He had that similar accent. And this voice was young... Younger than her brothers even... Close to her own age maybe...
But... "He hasn't come..." She whispered. "He didn't come to wake me..." There was a loss in her voice. Didn't he love her? Chi... Chi was supposed to tell him right? Chi would have told him. Her brother and his lover would not want to see her like this... They would have fetched Jason straight away...
A tear trickled slowly down her face, leaving a red streak among the flowers on her face. But hse made not a sould of crying... No whimper...
"Asku... Where is Askuwheateau... My brother... Has he come?" Her eyes opened again, a deep sorrow in them as she looked around with still blured vision. No... She could sence he was no where near the cave... How had this one awaken her? Was it by accident? He didn't know how long she had been asleep... It could have been hours... Days... Years even... But she knew he must have found her... He couldn't have known about her here...
But Jason knew... Where was he? How come he had not awaken her?
He did not love her...
Another tear trickled down her face as she shut her eyes again. "I don't understand... I... I thought he loved me..." She whispered as she turned to nuzzle into the young man holding her. The comfort of a stranger was better than sobbing alone.... But she had been so foolish... How, how could jason love her? She was a child still to him... The times he had made love to her, he must have been disgusted with himself... "I... I was so stupid..." She whispered against his shirt.
Pandora Lorrain - December 1, 2006 06:03 AM (GMT)
Kieran didn't know what to do. She was distressed and he wanted to comfort her so much, to push the pain away and to make her smile. He could hear the loss and knew that this man must have mattered very much to her. How could any man be so senseless as to leave a woman in sleep such as her own.
He saw the tear trickled and reached out to brush it away. He was amazed that no sound came from her, not a single sound of pain. He shrugged. "I do not know if your brother has come, unless he was the one that placed the bottles of dead blood here." He lifted the second one that he had brought to show her.
When he saw the second tear trickled he could almost feel the woman's pain. Most people would look at her and see the girl, but he saw the woman she would have been. "Love is an emotion hard to understand, I don't even understand it." He was surprised when she turned to him for comfort. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight, everything was going to be alright, he would do anything to make it that way. "We all make mistakes, it's part of a learning process." He gently rubbed her back and held her against him.
AngelWings - December 1, 2006 06:21 AM (GMT)
She wanted to ask why he had left... Why he didn't come for her... But that was pointless. She knew very well why he didn't come back for her... She was a freak... An oddity... A woman stuck in the body of a damn child... And she had only herself to blame... She had been foolish to think that her brother would be in trouble...
"I love him so... Why can't he see me? See who I am..." She choked back a sob now, afraid she would lose herself again.
She had been foolish to think he would come back though... He had left her before she woke, he hadn't returned for days... Even as she nearly killed herself... And who knew how long it had been since she had slept. She didn't remember what day it had been when she fell asleep...
Her sorrowful blue eyes looked up at him... His hair... A soft blond color. His face was so young... His eyes... The same sort of blue... But his eyes belonged to his face, his past... Kanti's eyes were an oddity. With raven hair and tanned skin her eyes stood out as unusual... They had been prized in her tribe, many men wated those gems... The eyes that belonged to her father. Asku had to warn them off because she was so young...
'Asku... Asku where are you!' She cried out in her mind, calling her brother to her. She wanted to see him... Feel his arms and body against hers... She needed to know he was okay.
"Why... Why did you wake me?" She asked softly, her eyes looking away from his face. "How did you find me?"
Pandora Lorrain - December 1, 2006 06:31 AM (GMT)
Kieran could hear her sob and each sob went straight to his heart. No man should ever hurt anybody the way she was hurting. When she asked why he hadn't come back he had no answer. When she stated that he had loved said man, he wanted so much to pummel the man to a pulp. He was probably a vampire, Kieran momentarily wondered if he could take him on.
"I don't know what he saw, but whatever it was, he was blind. He shouldn't have left you." He knew that she would probably find him insane yet he continued. "You are simply beautiful."
He paused giving her question thought. "When I saw you, I just had to wake you, no one as beautiful as you should hide from the world." His voice spoke and each word was sincere down. Even his face showed the truth of his words. "I'm new to Demaitre and I was scouting in the region, I was looking at the caves and that's when I found you."
AngelWings - December 1, 2006 06:39 AM (GMT)
"I thought he loved me though... I though..." She gave a small hiccup, fighting her sobs. "He was never cruel... Always so gentle and tender... He... He had to love me... But why..." she couldn't speak any more for fear of sobbing. Her voice was cracking enough.
She turned her head as he said she was beautiful. If she had been... Jason wouldn't have left her...
"Beauty is only skin deep..." She whispered. As she fell silent she began calling to her brother desperatly. She needed to know how long it had been... Needed to know why Jason hadn't come...
"My pain is greater than any beauty I may posess..." Kanti said softly. "So great... I can do nothing but hide..."
Pandora Lorrain - December 1, 2006 06:48 AM (GMT)
Kieran wished to take all her pain away, hell if he could he probably would have. "There is more to beauty that what a person sees. I believe that is perhaps why he left you, he only saw the outside. I know what it is like to be an adult stuck in the body of a child, I have been like this long enough to know that it isn't easy."
He gently placed his fingers under her chin and turned her face to him. "I wish that I could take all you pain away, you do not need to feel this way. God, I wish I could help you more." Kieran's heart was painfully hurting, she had found someone that had abandonned her, someone she loved, perhaps it was better not to love. Love could bring so much pain, but did the good outweigh the bad? He had a feeling that he would never know.
AngelWings - December 1, 2006 06:58 AM (GMT)
She looked away as he titled her chin up to him, she couldn't look at him. "I thought he saw past that... He treated me like no one else had... He treated me like a woman... How could it change so quickly...?" She asked softly.
She turned and curled up in to a ball in his arms, her eyes shut tight against the pain in her heart.
"No one can help me..." Not that she could ever think of... How would someone heal the pain in her heart...? How could someone make it go away? "Only time perhaps..." She didn't need to feel this way... But she did. She couldn't help it, she loved the man who had left her here to sleep for eternity...
She gave a slight sniffle. "Maybe... Maybe he's in trouble... Maybe he can't come..." But that wasn't something that sounded like him. He wouldn't let anything get between them if he loved her... "If only..." She whimpered as she curled up closer into him, wanting to feel some sence of security and comfort...
Pandora Lorrain - December 1, 2006 07:08 AM (GMT)
Kieran sighed. "I'm simply hypothesizing I honestly don't know." He had never wanted to make someone happy before unless they were family, either the real or vampire kind, yet she had drawn him like a moth to a flame and he was ready to burn up for him.
He wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight, ready to give her everything she asked for, everything that he could give her. She simply had to ask and he would do it, he hated to see others in pain and to see it on her face was enough to make him want to suffer in her place. He could take it, he was used to it. Comfort he could give and he was going to give it as long as she needed it.
Darkasian - December 1, 2006 03:34 PM (GMT)
Asku was on his way to visit Kanti, to make sure she was alright, but he felt something different now. He ran up the path to their cave, his deerskin vest flapping behind him in the air. "Kanti!" He felt Kanti's presence and another vampire's, but not Jason.
He had been checking on Kanti ever since he heard that she was comatose. Asku worried about his sister, and wanted to kill Jason. How could that bastard simply leave her like that!?
Asku pushed the fur curtains to the side, and stared at the vampire who was holding Kanti. His first instinct was to defend his sister, but he could see that the vampire was comforting her. "Kanti, are you alright?" He asked kneeling down near the two. "I'm Askuwheteau, her brother." He said glancing at the older vampire. Now this close it was easy to tell that he was younger than the one holding his sister. He returned his attention to Kanti, and smiled relieved to see she was awake.
AngelWings - December 1, 2006 03:50 PM (GMT)
She was curled up in the young man's arms simply lying there for a while, she didn't know how long really, when she felt her brother near by. He was coming closer... She could hear his voice...
"Asku!" She cried out quietly, wanting to run into his arms, but too weak to stand much. But that was solved as he knewlt down infront of her, putting her between the two men. She shifted her weight from Kieran's arms and crawled the little ways to her brother, curling up in his lap, nuzzling right into him where she had always felt safe.
"Asku..." She murmured kissing his clothed chest. "Oh Asku, I'm so sorry... Can... Can you ever forgive me..." She asked as she looked up into her brothers face. "How long have I been asleep? Where is Jason? Why hasn't he come?"
She didn't mean to ignore Kieran by any means, she was just overjoyed to see her brother. That and she had questions she needed answered.
Pandora Lorrain - December 1, 2006 05:11 PM (GMT)
Kieran had felt the other man approach and was somewhat relieved that it was Kanti's brother. Kieran was amazed that both of them were vampires. He wondered what it felt like to have a sibling in the same condition as he was. He was something maybe to ask, but only later.
Kieran relinquished Kanti to her brother, knowing that she will feel safer with him, after all he was simply a stranger to her. It was better to be around someone that loved you. He sighed almost regretfully, again he wondered what it must feel like to be loved by someone so much that it would hurt her the way it had.
He got up and moved away. This was a family matter, if Asku wanted to talk to him, he'd be outside, staring at moon. It was the only thing now that brought him peace. The moon and the stars in the middle of the night. He looked at Asku holding Kanti and sighed once more, before walking outside.
He sat down leaning against the side of the cave, staring as the moon shone. What had he done?
Darkasian - December 2, 2006 03:06 AM (GMT)
Asku held Kanti in his arms as she crawled into his lap, and kissed his chest. He shook his head as she asked him to forgive her. "There's nothing to forgive Kanti. I should be the one apologising. You were asleep for three weeks, but I haven't been able to find Jason."
It was a real shame, Asku knew Kanti loved Jason, but Jason didn't seem to share her feelings too much. If he did then he'd have been there. "I'm just glad you're alright." Reaching into a pack he set off to the side Asku pulled out a bottle of dead blood. "You need to drink."
Then the vampire that was with her before walked out. "I'll be back." He said resting Kanti on the furs, and followed him outside. He was thankful that someone was there for Kanti. It would have been terrible if she woke up without anyone around. "Thank you." He said sitting down on the ground. "Did you wake her up?" He asked looking up at the moon and stars. It was soothing.
Pandora Lorrain - December 2, 2006 03:17 AM (GMT)
Kieran sighed. Why had he done that? Oh, wait he remembered why, he was the good guy and only trying to help. He sighed again and saw the other man, her brother come outside to meet him. What was his name? He had mentionned it...Asku.. That was it. "Yes I did wake her. I couldn't believe that someone would let her sleep for so long, but when I saw the pain in her eyes, I believe that perhaps I did something wrong." He shook his head. "Maybe I shouldn't have."
He looked at Asku. "It may sound ridiculous, but I didn't quite think this through. I know what it's like to be an adult in the body of a child. Unlike her, though I never felt love, I don't know if I should feel lucky or unlucky. I would never want to find myself in her position. It seems to be hard on her, it sucks that the man doesn't appreciate her." He felt sorry for her and still wanted to take all the pain away.
AngelWings - December 2, 2006 05:13 AM (GMT)
Three... Three weeks? She had been asleep for nearly a full month here? And Jason still hadn't come to find her her... Her head fell and her eyes sank to the ground. She was a fool.... A fool to think anyone would ever love her...
Her head turned as she heard the young man leave. She had forgotten his name, being in a slight state of hystaria nearly. And Asku excused himself to follow him. Kanti whispered a soft 'okay' as he left her and grabbed the bottle of blood that he had brought. She couldn't help but think that she didn't want the young man to leave... She wanted to learn about him.... Learn why he had woken her up...
She sipped at the dead blood as Asku left and after a few sips was feeling strength enough to get up on her own. And so she did. Her legs were shakey, but they could support her light weight...
She pulled her long raven hair back, tying it with a leather strip before making her way to the curtian of the cave. She knelt at the entrance, waiting for the two men to finish talking. She heard the last of her wakers words and they would have made her blush if she could. He sympathized with her somehow... But why?
She sat on her knees, her head bowed as she thought. Why had he woken her? He had said she was beautiful... But Jason said that too. He had said she was wonderful and beautiful and all those other things that men said to women to... To get the one thing they wanted... And with that thought she felt even stupider... She had given him what he wanted... And he had simply left after he had gotten it...
She wanted to say something... to join them in the night air. But she knew she should not intrude. She would wait for one of them to invite her. It was only proper.
Darkasian - December 4, 2006 05:11 PM (GMT)
Asku was silent as the vampire spoke. "I'm thankful for waking her up. She had been through a lot, but she needed to wake up. You see Kanti was waiting someone who never came." He wanted to kill Jason, just for what he did to her. "She would've been sleeping a lot longer if you didn't wake her up."
Asku would've probably woken Kanti up if Kieran hadn't. "I don't mean to be rude or anything, but may I know your name?" He could feel Kanti regaining her strength as they spoke, and knew she was drinking the blood he gave her.
He listened to Kieran as the vampire spoke about being stuck in a child's body, and not knowing love. "Sometimes it is good not to feel love, but for some people life would be unbearable." He smiled slightly feeling Kanti watching them from the entrance. "Let's go back inside. It might be better that way."
Pandora Lorrain - December 4, 2006 05:23 PM (GMT)
Kieran smiled at the other vampire, though physically older, he was only a little younger than Kieran. Kieran felt that this other vampire could perhaps be a friend, well he'd rather have him as a friend rather then an enemy. "You welcome, Asku."
He bowed his head a little sheepish. "It seems that I keep forgetting my manners. My name it Kieran Taran Blair, I got by Kieran. It's a pleasure to meet you." He paused and looked at him. "Do you know what love is?" It perhaps seemed like a crazy question, but he was curious about it. After all the man physically wasn't much older.
Kieran thought it over. "So many people praise love though. Is it because you find love unbearable?" Kieran had no idea where the idea of love being unbearable came from, yet he wanted to know. Being physically so youn, he wanted to understand everything about emotions, because some of them were completely beyond him. "Alright let's go inside."
AngelWings - December 4, 2006 05:34 PM (GMT)
Kanti's eyes fell as she heard Asku speak. She wanted to be lieve Jason would come for her still... That he still loved her like he had said he did. But she had to agree with the last thing her brother said. Love was a tourture... but wouldn't it be worse not to love?
Kanti couldn't answer that question... To think about it still hurt her heart...
But as the other agreed to return to the cave Kanti scampered back quickly to the furs. She knew Asku knew she was just inside the cave... But what would Kieran think? Would he think she had been spying? She hoped not.
Darkasian - December 4, 2006 08:24 PM (GMT)
Asku returned Kieran's smile, and felt the same way with having Kieran as a friend. He scratched his head at Kieran's question, and thought for a second. "Ummmm...Love is when two people care very much for each other. They would do anything for each other." That was the best explanation of love he could come up with. "People praise it because of the happiness you feel when you fall in love." Asku remembered how he loved Chi, how he wanted to be with her forever. "Love can also be unbearable, because if you're not ready for it, you might hurt those who are closest to you. I hurt Kanti, because I fell in love with someone without speaking to her." Asku looked back at the cave entrance and smiled sadly. He nodded towards Kieran, and led the way back to the cave. "I apologize if I'm prying, but when were you turned?"
Pandora Lorrain - December 4, 2006 11:00 PM (GMT)
Kieran nodded to what he said about love, it made sense and it became clear when he said that he was in love. Kieran thought about it and even though sometimes love seemed to be harsh, he still wanted to know what it felt like. So many people that hemet loved someone, yet here he was on his own. He never got depressed, but this was probably a time he could be it. He shook his head. Fate had something planned for him, he just had to figure out what it was.
Kieran was startled by the question that he was asked but answered all the same. "I was 15 when I was turned, my grandire wasn't pleased with my sire to put it mildly. That was in 1415. On the eve of a battle, can you imagine that? I wanted to go to battle, I was ready too." A bit of a child he still was, he also had the desire to please everybody, unless it went against everything he was, then he'd have a problem. Kieran got up and wiped off his pants, he then followed Asku inside.
AngelWings - December 5, 2006 12:43 AM (GMT)
She was now kneeling as if she had never left the furs as the two men came in. Evadently Kieran hadn't noticed at all. Had Asku distracted him for a moment? Her hands rested quiet and still on her knees, her head was bowed to the two men as her eyes stayed on the furs she was on.
As they drew nearer Kanti lifted her flowered face, her blue eyes looking up at first her brother, than the other. "Forgive me." She bowed her head slightly. "I have not properly thanked you sir... My name is Kanti-Numees... But call me Kanti, if it pleases you." She spoke softly, barely above a whisper even for their kind. "I was waiting for a lover to come and wake me... But apparently I was nothing more than a foolish child, blind to what was the truth." Here she bowed her head again. "I might have been asleep for a very long time had you not waken me... So... I thank you sir."
He had not known why she slept... He was only trying to help someone he thought was in trouble. She could not hold him at fault.
"If there is any way I can repay you for your kind help... Do not hesitate to ask."
Pandora Lorrain - December 5, 2006 02:06 AM (GMT)
Kieran watched her. To him she was still the most beautiful woman to have walked this earth. Then again it was something he barely comprehended, but he simply wanted to be with her. She was kind, speaking softly and definitely making him feel welcomed. "Then perhaps I should apologize. I didn't realize you were wanting for someone." He kneeled down next to the furs close to her. "You are not a fool, my dear Kanti. He is the fool, because he didn't come back. Also he didn't see what you possess."
When he had said her name, it rolled off his tongue with easeand he found himself liking saying it. "Kanti, it's a beautiful name." He shrugged. "For the moment I don't need very much, I'm just getting settled in. I just got to Demaitre and I'm simply trying to get to know the city." That got him thinking. "Perhaps you could show me around?" Anything to spend more time with her, anything to get close to her.
AngelWings - December 5, 2006 02:49 AM (GMT)
"I do not possess much that is of desire, sir..." She said quietly, looking down from him. How could he refute that though? Obviously she did not have anything of value, otherwise Jason would have never left her.
She nodded though as he said that he had just come to the city. She believed he had told her that before... Maybe but she was not sure. She knew he had said his name before, but she couldn't remember it at the moment... Her hands twitched ever so slightly as she heard his request.
A tour of the city? Show him around? She knew very few sites herself... Only the park, the mall and the movie theater... But she had said anything, and she had to stick to her word.
"Yes, of course. It would be my pleasure to show you the few sites I know." She said with a bow of her head.
Pandora Lorrain - December 5, 2006 04:09 AM (GMT)
Kieran lifted an eyebrow. "You don't possess much to desire? My dear you are clearly mistaken. You have much to desire, your eyes are so blue, your black hair, I'm sure is silky to the touch and every tattoo is a part of your history." Truthfully he wanted to see every tattoo that covered her body, though that wouldn't be a proper thing to say. Especially in front of her brother.
Kieran nodded. "Thank you very much, I do appreciate the tour and perhaps we can discover other sites together, if that is ok? I always though that it was good to get to know your surroundings. It's the warrior in me." A small smile played across his face, he was glad that she wasn't too upset with him. That could have put a real dampner on meeting new people.
AngelWings - December 5, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
She couldn't say anything to his words. She wanted to, a simple thank you or something... But her throat wouldn't move... She couldn't speak. She simply staired silently at the furs, not meeting his face. Had she been able to hear his thoughts she would have simply fled. She wasn't very good at taking compliments, especialy when she had heard similar things from Jason... Had she heard his thoughts she would have thought him the same sort of man, after only one thing.
She seemed to find her voice a moment later as the subject seemed to change. "Yes... Of course it is. But... But I do not know much of being a warrior." She said softly. "That... That is something more to my brother's strengths I dare say." She still though, did not look up at him. She was still in pain... And she knew that he was only trying to be kind to her... But each kind word only made the ache in her heart worse...
Only made her want to feel Jason's arms...
But... She knew he didn't truly love her... Why did she still want him... Want to smell him and feel his body against hers.
She bit her lower lip, trying to fight back the tears she felt coming. "Brother... May... May I be excused... I could use some night air... And it has been a long while since I have seen the stars..." Her voice was soft and quivering, but she hoped that Asku would not ask questions... He would know... And she hoped that the other would not notice her weakness.

Asku stayed silent as Kieran spoke about when he was changed. It was interesting to know, but he was concentrating more on Kanti. He understood what Kieran felt, and he wanted to give Kanti a second to return to the furs. He knew how Kanti felt, and stayed silent as she and Kieran spoke. Each word hit Asku just as hard as it did Kanti, and knew how she felt. It wasn't Kieran, but Kanti was feeling a real conflict of emotions. She still wanted Jason even after what he put her through.
Then he was shaken out of his revelation by Kanti asking to be excused. "You don't need to ask me Kanti. Go ahead and get some air." She definitely needed it. Asku turned to Kieran and smiled. "Don't worry she just needs a minute."

She stood from the furs and bowed her head to the two before scampering out of the cave. She ran into the woods along a familiar path but she obviously didn't know it too well. For about a hundred years from the cave she tripped over a tree root, one she would have seen if her mind wasn't in such a storm.
She fell hard and rolled a few yards before laying still. She was alright of course, well physicaly...
But she lay there crying, sobing away from them so she wouldn't seem weak and helpless... But she felt so alone now... It was as if there was something missing from her body... or her mind... Something she couldn't quite place.
Kanti's face was streaked with crimson, letting her bloody tears fall to the ground as she curled up into a little ball on the cold earth. "Why did you leave me?" She sobbed to the empty night sky. "Why didn't you come for me!" Her small body was shaking with sobs now, her cries echoing to the night, but she didn't even care if they heard her anymore. She needed to cry, she needed to scream and sob her heart out... To have the tears purge her soul... Wash away the pain that was so deep as if it would never heal.

Kieran watched her leave, his eyes following every mouvement she made. He could hear her running. She needed some alone time and that was understandable. A man she loved had abandonned her, he looked down at his feet and decided to sit down. There was nothing he could do, he had put himself and Kanti, especially Kanti in a difficult position. He sighed and stared at his hands in his lap.
"I understand that. Everyone needs air at some point." He turned towards the entrance that she had used to flee. "Some more then most in tough situations." The last was a whisper and he was deep in thought, still looking at the entrance.

Asku watched as Kanti left the cave, and kept an eye on her through their connection. He could feel what she felt, and it was almost overwhelming even for him. He was staring out at the entrance, and could only think of Kanti. Then Kieran spoke to him. "What? Kanti definitely needs air, but it's more the one she was waiting for than what you said." He knew it was more of both, but he didn't want Kieran to get hurt. "Is there anyone who you can call family?" He asked almost out of the blue.

Kieran jumped startled by the change in topic, though he actually thought about it. "My grandsire and sire, though her I'm alone. I wanted to come to the new world and see new things. So far it has been quite an experience to tell the truth."
Loneliness was one thing he had never had the chance to experience whether when he was a mortal of after when he was changed. Yet ever since he had come to Demaitre the knowledge that he knew no onw and was possibly alone in the world, with no one to love, it truly hit him. He didn't have luck and it would probably stay that way.

After a few moments she stopped crying... Not because she felt fine again, but because she knew she couldn't cry for ever... She sat up, leaning against the trunk of a tree and looked up to see the stars... Their light was caught in the branches of the trees... Like water being held through fingers...
The stars... In all her years they haven't chanced once... Constilations rotated in and out, but she could always find them.
She wiped her eyes clear of the blood, knowing it would be there for either of them to see when she returned... But she had a feeling that they already knew... Or at least Asku did...
With a sigh she pulled her knees up to her chest and leaned her head on her knees. She wanted Jason back... She wanted to see him and feel him again... But he was never coming back, she had to accept it... But why couldn't she? Why was there a part of her that kept saying he was going to come back to her?
She wondered what the other two were talking about... What Kieran was really like... Why did he keep saying all those things to her... About her really... She wasn't beautiful... She wasn't anything spectacular... Otherwise... Jason wouldn't have left... No matter what the new vampire said...

Kieran looked around the cave and thought that it could be homey, he wasn't much for the cave lifestyle, prefering a house or appartment. Something caught his eye, it seemed simple enough, yet it gleemed with power, vampire power. He gently got up and picked it up from the bed of furs.
He unfolded it and was surprised by the design. Two wolves stood in the middle of a forest, one howled at the moon while the other was curled around the former, on the edges in one of the trees stood a robin that looked on. He looked at the robin closely and realized that whoever had made this must have felt like the robin, being pushed away by the two wolves or either miles apart from them. He turned to Asku. "Who made this?"

Asku was still concentrating on Kanti, but he watched Kieran as he picked up the cloth that Chi had created for them. He forgot that it was still there, and looked at it for a second. "It was made by the person I love. Her name is Chi." He remembered that night when Chi first met Kanti, and nodded. "She made it as a gift for Kanti and I when we first met." Kieran was right how the maker was the robin in the design. Asku had worked to bring Chi and Kanti closer together, but before he really could Kanti had fallen into the deep sleep. "It's been hard for the three of us."

"But she kept things from getting harder..." Kanti whispered as she came back in the cave, her hair was mussed and slightly dirty, her face streaked with blood and dirt. She looked a mess, she knew that... She didn't really care...
She bowed twice as she entered, once to her brother and once to the stranger who's name she couldn't remember. She felt horrible for it, but she didn't wish to insult him by asking his name...
"She found me here in my most desperate time..." She spoke softly as she made her way to the furs again. "I was simply going to let myself die here... But she convinced me to live..." For her brothers sake. "So I simply sent myself into a deep sleep, waiting for Jason to come back." She shook her head slightly, a leaf falling from the raven strands. Jason didn't matter anymore... He shouldn't anyway.
But he did.
"I do appologizeif this has already been asked..." She began to speak again. "But... How did you come about to be in this city?"

Kieran looked at the blanket he still held. "She put a lot of power into this." He folded the blanket, set it down and turned to Asku. "She must care very much to give such a gift." He wondered how she had created it, she was probably old and very powerful, he knew that he wouldn't be able to do it, there wasn't many that could.
He turned to Kanti and felt his breath catch in his throat. With her hair mussed and full of twigs and leaves, she was a sight to see. Almost like one of those old celtic goddesses. If he could have one chance with her he would make it worthwhile, he would do anything to make her happy, yet he probably wouldn't be that lucky, she loved someone else and he would respect that.
Kanti obviously cared for her brother's lover, though it must have hurt her to have to share someone who she cared for. Her brother did care for Kanti that much was obvious.
Kieran thought over her question. "I wanted to travel, to see what the buzz about the new world was all about. I took a ship and traveled in Quebec a bit before heading towards somewhere where I could speak my mother tongue, English." He paused and then continued. "I like Demaitre, I might stay for a bit."
