Title: Thinking On The Steps
Description: Mmm...alcohol
Sky - January 21, 2004 08:26 PM (GMT)
The Vampire sat at the top of the steps to the library, it was late into the night and the doors had shut hours ago. He rocked his head in a palm, elbow dug into his knee while his other hand clutched a half empty bottle. The water of the nights rain was slowly seeping into his jeans, the light drizzle ran from his face and trickled down his neck.
His grey eyes looked glazed and unseeing, there wasn't much to see anyway just a path leading down to the quiet streets. His dark hair was flat against his head and slightly spiked at the front. Strangly his shirt was ripped crudely and was almost falling off of him just attached by one button at the front and the one sleeve still intact.
Slowly he lifted the bottle to his lips and let the bitter red wine flow into his mouth, washing it against his gums and tongue before swallowing. Then the bottle arm returned to its position and not to move for another few minutes.
Sandra - January 21, 2004 10:08 PM (GMT)
A girl, looking to be about 14 years skipped playfully down the darken streets. Sandra let her golden pigtails sway happily into the air, her blue eyes seemed to sparkling with every step. She wore odd clothes for this age, a black poodle skirt with a red poodle. Even odder the poodle seemed to have some very long fangs. The rest of her outfit was even more hard to see in the dim light.
She smelled him before she saw him. There, on the steps, a vampire just like her. She wondered loosely if he knew any games. She hoped he had pretty eyes. Eyes were very important to her, she had a collection of them.
She could be seen and heard from a mile away, feet falling lightly on the pavement in a steady beat. She came closer to the other. She saw his eyes... They were gray, not as pretty as other colours but rarity counts for something. She grinned, double fangs showing. "Hi!" Came her cheerful voice.
Sky - January 21, 2004 10:29 PM (GMT)
He ignored the child, almost dismissing her completly. His gaze turned to her for a second and registered her details at a glance before returning to a blank stare. Sky took another swig of his wine and slowly rose to his feet arching his back, letting the bones click back into place loudly.
"What do you want Child?" He hissed from behind the glazed eyes.
Sandra - January 21, 2004 11:17 PM (GMT)
Sandy noted his impatience. Normal adult reaction. At 62 years of age Sandy never had the opertunity to grow up. She took it as a game more then a challenge. He answered, acknowledging her, that's all she needed. She sat down beside him, knees together, hands placed on top of them. She shrugged her shoulders. "Many things." She said cheerfully.
Sky - January 22, 2004 11:27 PM (GMT)
Sky kept his gaze outwards but shook his head slightly to flick the wet hair out of his eyes. Sky shrugged as he offered the bottle to the child placing it down infront of her.
"Don't you have a mother to go to? Parent, Guardian, Uncle Bob or whatever?"
Sandra - January 23, 2004 02:47 AM (GMT)
"Mom and Dad died." She said as she picked up the bottle. She sniffed the contents. She scrunched up her nose, disgust plainly written on her face. It was the right colour but the wrong scent. "I have my mother's eyes." She said cheerfully, leaning closer so he could see her baby blues.
Sky - January 28, 2004 01:24 PM (GMT)
"How unfortunate." Sky muttered in an almost sarcastic tone. He plucked a cigarette from behind his ear and flicked open his zippo, he took a long drag and blew it into the kid's face.
Bluntly he said "Scram kid."
Sandra - January 28, 2004 05:04 PM (GMT)
You would think that a child would cry at such a remark. Sandy couldn't, she in all respects of human life was not a child. She didn't like being turned away. She hated it and so now she hated him. She hissed and jumped at him scratching at him. She reached out with her mouth trying to bite him.
Sky - February 5, 2004 03:48 PM (GMT)
Sky's reactions were quick, though slightly dampened by the alcohol effects, he still moved faster than any mere mortal eye or vampire eye could see. He brought his elbow up into the childs face giving it a sharp jab in the nose.
With his legs he kicked out to launch the kid off of him.
"What are you?"
Faethne - February 6, 2004 05:21 AM (GMT)
[I][COLOR=purple]Landing on the ground with a dull thud, bare feet not prone to loud sounds she made her way around to the front of the building, stopping only when she came across two more of her kind, one looking rather enebreated by his expression and the other.....she didnt really know how to discribe in any other way besides a retro gothic powerpuff girl. That alone was a mind boggling concept. Shaking her head a little she watched the two for a moment, witnessed the fluff ball lung all spit and fury only to be pushed aside like some puppet. Rather amused by what she'd just seen she was feeling sociable and with a slight shrug of her shoulders ventured foreward towards the pair, feet silent of the soft grass.
She tilted her head to one side after hearing his comment, glancing over at the body of the little one before pruducing another shrug, desiding this was probably as good a time as any to anounce herself.
"Well.....she kinda looks like a circa 1950's cupie doll to me......" She made a soft croon in her throat and flash quite the kittenish smile at the young vampiress "No offence darling but your sire must have been one hell of a prissy goth...and way before her time"
Sky - February 6, 2004 03:18 PM (GMT)
Another voice, another vampire, another invader to his thinking spot. Why couldn't people just find their own terretory and keep to it. The voice sounded older, more experienced and a welcome change to thiis child demon that tried to rip his throat out.
Sky rolled his head to look at the newcomer, and imediatly sobered up. His eyes flicked down her figure and then looked away showing no interest.
"And what do you want?" Sky said in an almost mocking tone, an intelligent answer was all he wanted, something to show that vampires still were the superior of races.
Sandra - February 6, 2004 03:38 PM (GMT)
Sandra fell backwards on to the pavement. She looked up in surprise as she slowly probed the damage to her nose. She didn't think anything was faster then she was, it was not fair. She was about to state as much but then a second vampire came. She didn't consider herself out numbered at all, more as fortunate to have company come her way.
She was called a doll... Dolls were pretty... Was she calling her pretty? Sandra always liked being called pretty, it's what got her fangs. She smiled in memories of her sire... He had pretty eyes, they glowed... Sky's abrupt question brought her back to reality. "Hey you hit me! No fair, no fair...." She whined.
Faethne - February 6, 2004 09:36 PM (GMT)
She artched her brow at the male, her expression amused but sedate, pondering is she should come closer to the two. The child was oblivious but the male....there was mild hostility coming off of him. She desided to to throw that little bit of caution to the wind, venturing closer and neating fold her body down into a comfortable kneeling position on the grass before answering him with a shrug.
"Do I need to want something..?" She gave him a rather odd little smile. "You two are the virst Vampiric I've met since I've come to this city, I was feeling sociable....why not?" She then sighed a little, bracing her hands behind herback on the grass, almost reclining before fixing him with one of her more serious expressions "If you'd rather I leave you to your pivacy, you just have to say so.....And as of you little one" She turned her eyes towards the child a sweetly teasing smile on her lips, dark eyes half lidded in soft amusment at the childs sake. "I belive you attacked him first, Pet...he deffended.....quite fair in rules of war and battle"
Sky - March 5, 2004 03:21 PM (GMT)
"Welcome to the city." He said and a sly sarcastic tone, his nose scrunched and his lips curled with the comment. Sky was in a hostile mood today, as he had been for the whole of that week, and would probably be that way for many hours to come.
"Do you drink?" He said down to her as he fumbled about in his pocket for a small flask, "its Absinth." As for the child he had lost interest, she no longer existed in his mind.
Faethne - March 5, 2004 04:00 PM (GMT)
She adjusted herself to his hostility, and general grumpyness. Her expression became a bit bland and even more so sarcastic, her lips twitching in the very hint oh a smile. Silly, snarly male, she didnt cause his bad mood..
She looked a little surprised at the suposedly offered drink, blinking slowly before tilting her head off to one side, lips pursed a little as she contemplated. Ah absinth...she'd had many an adventure with the green fairy though perhaps a bit more then any self preserving vampire might consider wise. She smirked to herself a little. It had been worth it.
"Depends....is it the old stuff, or that silly subsitute they came up with and pass off as absinth these days?"
Sky - March 5, 2004 11:04 PM (GMT)
In response Sky took a mighty swig of the Absinth, knocking back half the bottle. It may have been weaker than its hallucigenic parentage but it was still very painful to drink. A quality Sky loved in a spirit.
He tightened the cap of the flask and tossed it fairly gently towards the stranger. Then turned and rested his head in one hand, the other idly stroked the concrete steps. She'd catch it...
Faethne - March 6, 2004 03:27 AM (GMT)
Her lips quirked at his lack of a verbal responce but then again his sudden downing of the harsh liquor gave her nearly as clear an answer. She didnt mind to much...she'd had her days of sweet bemused delearium, she'd had her thoughtless bouts and stupid minded nights. She still held the hard burn of the absinth in high revear. It was quiet, even cheerful looking then bit harder then anyone would ever expect. Like jazz and tattooed skin.
She reached up, caught the spinning flask in both hands and nearly loosing her balance in the slight effort. Her legs were falling asleep..
Getting slowly to her feet with a long rock of the body to get her footing she stood, stretched, opened the cap on the flask and sniffed experimentaly. It had a good smell..She tiped the flask back, intending only a sip but taking nearly half the contents into her mouth swollowing it down and enjoying the slow burn then the numbness it left in it's wake. Sighing softly she re-caped the flask and steped closer to him, handing back the flask. "Not bad.....there getting better at making it with out the herbs.."
Sandra - March 8, 2004 09:15 PM (GMT)
Sandra had nothing left to do but pout. Meany... With a kick of the shoes she watched the two 'adults' for awhile before scoffing at them. She was an adult too, she was old enough, why didn't anyone respect her? It was sad really...
Without further ado the tiny vampire left the "adults" to do other important things. Blood came to mind, but then again it always came to mind. Sandra walked away without saying a word, the others wouldn't miss her.
Sky - March 23, 2004 08:26 PM (GMT)
"What do you say we move on and get a real drink." He bared his fangs in a half smile, his dull grey eyes suddenly glinted brightly.
He slowly rose to his feet, using his arms as a support, and swayed slightly with the effort. How long had he sat there? Sky's feet were slightly cold, not that it bothered him as the sensation of bare feet on stone was always appreciated.
"Where is the nearest mortal feeding grounds from here?"
Faethne - March 23, 2004 09:08 PM (GMT)
She was a little surprised at his sudden display of preditory glee after his previous sedatate sense of "LeaveMeTheFuckAlone" but she wasnt one to nit pick. She shared his smile, her normaly feline mouth curving into something much more dangerious as she shared his emotion as well. Hunting insinct. What a wonderious thing. It made her scalp tingle.
Sometimes being empathic could have it's perks.
She watched him get up, the aucward way he used his feet and let out a soft chuckle, raising her shoulders in a bit of a shrug. It wasnt often she truely went hunting, more or less she took little sips whenever the moment felt right. Hiding it with the pretence of a love bite. The liquor in her stomach was making her warm.
"I usualy stalk White Mice when I hunt" She continued to smile at him, her head cocked to one side " Unless of course you have a prefered hunting ground..."
Sky - March 30, 2004 10:40 PM (GMT)
Sky rolled his head to one side, clicking the bones together along his spine before taking the last of the Absinth into his mouth. He again scrunched up his face as the strong liquor burnt his throat.
"White Mice? Sounds great to me. Real drink at last." He literally licked his lips, showing bared fangs for a split second before returning his expression to his usual expressionless self. "Lead the way," he asked kindly of the stranger.
"And my name is Sky, it is good to see a fresh face in the city." He didn't offer an hand, not even a sign of welcome in his voice, almost like he was forced to say it.
Faethne - April 5, 2004 08:31 AM (GMT)
She watched him drink down the rest of the liquor, listened to his no-hearteted greetings with an air of protcol before developing a wicked smirk.
"Dont break your teeth on those hard words..."
It was enough for her, to get her point across. She'd never been a fan of idle, meaningless chatter. It hurt her head. She gave him another little smirk, flashing a bit of fang before turning on bare feet and walking quietly down the street, heading for her favored hunting ground, sure he would fallow. As an after thought she tossed her name over her shoulder like lucky salt.
"Pleasure to meet you Sky....may names Fae.."
Sky - April 5, 2004 02:09 PM (GMT)
((I'll create a post at the White Mice))
"Right, meet me round the back of the White Mice in thirty minutes. I've got to get more cheap drink."
He kicked the empty flask as Sky walked in the opposite direction towards the main street. Tripping up slightly as the effects of alcohol ran through his undead system. Although alcohol usually only dampens a vampires system to an extent Sky had been drinking for some time that day.
