The Tequila was quiet tonight. There weren't a lot of people in here, and that suited Adam fine.

A beer sat in front of him, untouched. He couldn't drink it. It was like trying to eat dirt. He just couldn't stomach it. He bought it anyway, out of habit. It gives him a right to be here, at least.

He sighs, brushing his sandy-blond hair out of his eyes and staring around the dim room. Hunger gnaws at his insides-- not his stomach anymore, but at him, but he's going to hold out on feeding as long as he can.

He doesn't even know why he's here.

Catherine entered the Tequila and walked over to the bar. Although she was too young to drink, they recognized her immediately. She asked if anyone was scheduled to play tonight, or if it was a poetry reading and found that they hadn't booked anything for the evening. She smiled, "I'd love to sing tonight if you'll have me..." The manager came over and they talked breifly before she went up on stage.

She sang seven songs, her beautiful voice ringing clear and steady, bringing much applause. Singing was one of her greatest talents, and she knew it. Once she finished she sat down and ordered a soda, sighing. As always, she had sung sad songs and angry songs, never any to show false happiness. She sipped the drink and glanced around, fingering the decorative scarf on her throat before finally taking it off, not caring if someone saw the scars on her neck.
