Title: Fitful Slumber.
Description: Sunny days can be so boring...

Enyo - January 8, 2004 01:17 PM (GMT)
An unusually warm day for the time of year. The bright sun was baking the city's roads so much that the upper sewer levels, usually so cold and wet, were slowly rising in temperature, making everything clammy and unpleasantly warm.
Enyo squirmed restlessly in the small living space she'd made for herself in one of the many large holes in the sewer walls. She had been tightly curled up underneath her faithful blanket, but the change in temperature caused her to suddenly throw the blanket away from her with an angry snort. It was bad enough that she was having to wait down here with nothing to do but sleep, but now the sun was managing to reach her even through the darkness!
And so she lay there, lying as spread out as the cramped pot-hole would allow her, her cruel eyes glowing like headlamps in the gloom. She was frustrated, bored, and hungry...

Jonah - January 10, 2004 04:09 AM (GMT)
An ever consistent drip of fogged water accompanied Jonah in his place of slumber, a puddle forming an inch or so from his ear. He groaned quietly though the irritation was not from the drip-drip..instead the rustling that had awoken him. You see, after living a "life" down in these parts for so many years without any of his clan as company, one became accompanied to the silence and lonliness finding that the cracasses made for pleasant enough entertainment. One could speak with them if all they wished was to speak yet waste no mind to listen, and then the flesh on some, even though rotting, was quite appetizing.

Now with the sudden trickle of Tarepha, the sense of actual company, it was new and something to grow use to. He called out in a rasp and harsh whisper, weariness disguised and instead histone of emptiness allowed to be shared. "Oh hush your whining. The damned thing never shows this deep.." True it did grow a few degrees warmer down here at times but one simply had to cope with it or burrow back or deeper to a colder spot.

((^^:heylo! nice ta have ya here))

Enyo - January 11, 2004 03:01 PM (GMT)
Enyo quickly lifted her head at the sound of that voice. She did not recognise it, for she had never met the leader of the Tarepha before, though she detected something rather authorative in the tone. Nevetheless, she didn't much like being told to be quiet, and she growled deep in her throat before uprighting herself then crawling out of her cave and straight down the slimy wall, searching the source of the voice...

Jonah - January 18, 2004 03:24 PM (GMT)
Jonah gave a low and very breif chortle, allowing his hand to flail out into view in the main tunnel, allowing the girl knowledge of his whereabouts and sparing the nuisance of looking in every nook and cranny. "Is there somethng I can help you with?" He questioned in a slightly irritated tone as he listened to the sounds of her closening scuttling.

Enyo - January 21, 2004 11:48 PM (GMT)
Enyo's acute sense of smell had already been leading her in mostly the right direction, though she was still a good distance away when she caught sight of Jonah's waving hand. Her cruel claws scraped against the damp stone as she quickened her pace and crawled effortlessly down the wall.
She came to a halt right above Jonah's cavern, at which point she clamped her hands round its rim and let her head hang down into the entrance.
She thrust her long snout towards Jonah, snuffling at him and regarding him with eyes like glowing coals. Though she had never seen Jonah before or even heard of him, his auror of authority soon became clear to her. She uttered a gurgling growl that formed a word that was both questioning and a little reluctant,
".....Maaassster?"

Jonah - February 29, 2004 04:54 AM (GMT)
Jonah opened one eye, the pastel green seeming to be the only color on his person other than that of thechin length brown hair. He flickered his hand again this time to add distance between her face and him. "Indeed.. and who are you?" Unlike the few others he had met so far, this one already seemed to know where she fell into place, and added an extra bit to the respect owed to the coven's leader. He liked that, a boost to his already distorted ego.

Enyo - February 29, 2004 11:59 AM (GMT)
"...Enyo." The creature growled in her gutteral, vaguely feminine voice.
She shifted her weight and lowered herself down on strong forelimbs until she was perched on the rim of Jonah's cavern, the right way up this time and turned to face Jonah, still glaring at him with bright yet soulless eyes. She curled back the lips of her long muzzle, revealing even more of her sharp fangs, before saying,
"Cannnnot sssleep. Heat itchesss my skinnn. Huunnngrrry..."
