Title: Alley-cat

It was just after dark when Cat made her way down the alley, looking around constantly, obviously paranoid. She had a suitcase rolling on the ground behind her and a backpack on her back, she had just picked up this stuff out of storage. She was now making her way back to Sky's apartment, hoping Jerry had managed to follow him alright.

A trash can fell over and she turned, drawing a gun and aiming it as quick as was humanly possible. An alley cat came out of the trashcan, then darted off. She sighed deeply, returning the Browning to it holster on her side.

"You're a bit jumpy this evening, aren't you Cat?" A male voice rang out of the darkness. She recognized the voice, but couldn't tell where it was coming from. She had the gun out again, and looked for the man she knew had come to kill her. The voice was heard again, "You never should have gotten involved with vampires Cat. You could have had a normal life."

"Normal is over-rated," she replied, still looking for the source of the voice, hoping to get a shot off at him before he killed her.

She listened as he taunted her, not really listening to his words. She heard a soft bark and saw Jerry Lee coming over towards her. She was a bit surprised, she had told the dog to protect Sky. Maybe Jerry had lost track of him. Either way she was glad he was here. She reached out and ran her hand down his head, still listening. She noticed something red on Jerry and leaned over to get a better look.

It disappeared momentarily, then she noticed it on her arm. The same moment she realized what the red dot was she hear a gunshot and felt sharp burning pain as a bullet grazed her arm. The red spot had been a laser sight, and the only reason Jerry hadn't been killed was sheer luck. "Down boy!" She ducked as the dog crouched to the ground, another shot going off. She followed the laser sight to it's source and fired her Browning at him. She saw him jerk from being hit, then flee.

She got up, holding her arm and whistling to the dog. She grabbed her stuff and started walking again, wanting to get back to Sky's home to bandage her arm before anything more went wrong.

(Bagh. I'm bored so I'm posting more...)
