Title: So Bored...
Description: Is there ever much to do?

Shade - November 16, 2003 04:59 PM (GMT)
Shade moved down the sidewalk, his hands shoved in the pockets of his worn pair of blue jeans, his light blue eyes staring at the cracked sidewalk below him as he walked.

His 14 year old frame shivered slightly and he pulled his jacket closer around his body, not giving any of the people on the streets a second glance.

He stopped for a moment and leaned against the brick wall of a nearby building, and pulled a pack of cigarettes out of the pocket of his jacket. His other hand searched the pockets of his jeans for his lighter, finding nothing, and getting aggrivated. He let out an annoyed sigh and checked his jacket, also producing nothing but a few lint balls, which he flicked onto the sidewalk.

Vanessa - November 18, 2003 07:32 PM (GMT)
OOC| Hiya.. I'm going to join, if you don't mind.. |

Those lint balls landed near the feet of a woman meandering down the sidewalk. She didn't seem to have a fixed destination, and swung the purse she clutched in her hand back and forth in boredom. The other hand she played absently with a strand of her long, black hair.

She didn't notice Shade, really.. Like she didn't notice the few other people on the sidewalk. She seemed lost in her own little world, pondering some mystery or other that still had her stumped after all those long years.

Her lithe body was wrapped in a black sweatercoat which fell to her knees. The dark denium of flared jeans showed underneath, and a pointy pair of red shoes just showed underneath that. Her skin was pale.. Almost too pale, but a faint splash of blush red invaded the apples of her cheeks to give her some color.

Shade - November 18, 2003 11:53 PM (GMT)
(OOC-You replied! God bless you! ROFL-)

Shade let out a small growl of frustration and threw the unused cigarette onto the ground. He rolled his eyes arrogantly and glanced to his left, spotting Hannah walking past him close by. He watched her curiously, sensing something different.
Being turned into what he was only a few weeks before, he wasn't at all used to the heighted senses and perceptions he seemed to possess now.

He shifted his weight slightly to his right leg and brushed a few stray strands of his ear-length brown hair out of his eyes, continuing to stare at her from his spot leaned into the wall, of which he was beginning to slouch against comfortably.

Ollen - November 19, 2003 12:10 AM (GMT)
The sound of thin heels clicking on the concrete gave way to a girl, possibly nineteen or twenty at the oldest, walking along the sidewalk. Her head was bowed slightly and her left hand caressed her forehead with gentle finger tips while her other hand was stuffed into her coorderoi coat pocket. She swore quietly beneath her breath, cursing all the residences in her apartment building who passed time by screaming at their room mates or spouses.

From the corner of her eye she saw the cigarette flicked to the ground and when she looked up she saw the young boy. She looked away, hiding the new look of craving on her face. Unknowingly she seemed to have stopped walking. It had beena while since her last drag..a few months maybe..and the thought of a cigarette seemed so pleasing.

Vanessa - November 19, 2003 01:17 AM (GMT)
OOC| I got that same reaction the last time I joined a Rp, too.. It's begining to go to my head! lol

She sensed the younger one staring at her. She raised her head, hazel eyes searching out his gaze. She finally found it, and held it with an expression of mild amusement. She didn't noticed the other girl, the girl hadn't noticed her.

Funny, she found it, that these last few nights she'd attracted more attention than she had in the last decade or two. She noticed she had stopped walking and feeling playful, purred, "Keep staring.. I may do a trick!" Her voice was soft and a pretty Southern accented underlined each word she spoke.

OOC| hehe, sorry about that cliche remake.. But I was looking at the keychains at work today and I really like one that says that!

Shade - November 19, 2003 02:07 AM (GMT)
Shade let out a high, sharp growl. More in surprise than aggression. His light blue eyes stayed locked on her cautiously, unsure of what she might do, his instincts controlling most of his reactions now.

He tilted his head slightly to the side in question, giving him an extremly innocent look, his posture still slumped against the brick wall of the building. He blinked once.

"I wasn't staring." he remarked defensively, his eyes still arrogantly clung to her, as if to challenge his words.

Vanessa - November 19, 2003 07:55 PM (GMT)
She smirked again, that special smile which has resulted in her being called a snake-in-the-grass more than once, and shruged. "Alright, darling, if you say so.."

She kept his challenging stare and returned it with a hazel version of smug delight, the kind only those completely self-assured can properly conjure.

Shade - November 19, 2003 08:42 PM (GMT)
He felt his uneasy nature get the best of him as he centered his gaze back to the ground. He looked slightly annoyed and kept quiet, wondering if Hannah would say anything else to him.

Shade shoved both of his hands back into his pockets casually, still looking away from the eyes that seemed to look down on him.

He kicked at a small pebble, doing anything to seem like he wasn't interested in associating with anyone, though he knew he wanted someone to talk to, he wasn't sure if he was attracting the right attention. He wasn't even sure of himself at the moment, still unclear on what he -was- to a point, and capable of doing, and being. He decided he'd rather figure it out on his own eventually, then have someone babysitting him.

Vanessa - November 20, 2003 01:47 AM (GMT)
"I'm sorry, honey.." She said in more friendly tones, as she seemed to realize his insecurities. "That wasn't very polite of me. Let me start again. My name is Hannah."

She was still in a devilish little mood, she would come into these every so often the way some people sink into depression. But she never really forgot those ol' Southern manners that were drilled into her head when she was a little girl. However long ago that was.

Shade - November 21, 2003 12:41 AM (GMT)
He paused for a moment and glanced up at her, studying her over quickly. He hesitated, then answered back.

"...I'm Shade." he said quietly. Then paused again. "Well my real name's Jaser but not a lot of people call me that. Actually, no one does... my parents did though."

He seemed to think over his choice of words, his head tilted slightly to the side and his light blue eyes now staring at her again, though more interested than afraid as before. He was known for his quick change of moods. Though he was frightened easily, he could quickly become arrogant and cocky if someone or something struck him as particulary dumb or of poor choice. Even though he was equally as young and stupid as most of the people he teased.

Vanessa - November 23, 2003 10:44 PM (GMT)
"Hmm.. Well, trust me dear, in a few years you'll be wishing someone knew your real name and called you by it." She said with a little shrug.

She still seemed highly amused, however, that her little test wasn't over yet. She couldn't resist the temptation to ask teasingly, "So do you like that you see, or not? You seem to be staring at me enough."

Shade - November 23, 2003 10:52 PM (GMT)
He paused for a moment, then grinned. "What kinda question is that?" he retorted, a playful expression on his face. His two sharp, pointed fangs were easy to see as he grinned, though he didn't seem to care. He could've hid them if he wanted, they -were- retractable, after all. But he liked to let them hang out when he could, for no particular reason, really.

A brushed a few loose strands of his light brown hair out of his eyes, his head still tilted to the side.

Vanessa - November 23, 2003 11:04 PM (GMT)
OOC| lol, I love your first signature! |

"Quite a reasonable one if I'm the one you're oogling." She replies, smiling back. Her own two little fangs show as well, gleaming like chalk against the pale pink of her lips. If he didn't care, why should she?
Then again, maybe he really was too young to have figured out what she was.

Shade - November 23, 2003 11:12 PM (GMT)
( :D Thank you, thank you. It's the result of having too much free time on my hands... leaves me time to -think- O_O)

He closed his mouth and blinked. "Hey, you're like me, too?" he asked, curious and surprised. His eyes studied her over again.

"I didn't think there were a lot, you know? 'Cause like, I haven't seen no one that was like that... but ya are?" he repeated his question for the second time, talking quickly. He seemed to be confusing himself as he talked, saying things over in different ways, he wondered if it came out right at all.

Vanessa - November 24, 2003 08:55 PM (GMT)
She stops and closes her lips, though they are still carefully arrayed into a smile. "Yes, I am like you. Assuming you even know what you are."

She seems very amused at his lack of contacts with their world, however. "And it all depends on where you look, honey."

Shade - November 25, 2003 04:30 AM (GMT)
He gave her an uneasy look. "Hey. I know what I am..." he paused. "Well, I mean, I don't have a name... for it... or anything. But I'm just that braindead." he remarked dryly.

"I don't really look for people like me 'cause... I dunno, I feel like I could be dangerous maybe? I don't really wanna but I feel like I -do- want to sometimes." He tilted his head to the side innocently again. "I gotta stop confusing myself."

Vanessa - November 25, 2003 07:35 PM (GMT)
"You know," Hannah says as she arches an eyebrow. "Maybe you should stop being so worried about how dangerous you are, and start worrying about how dangerous the rest of us are." It wasn't really a threat, simply a serious warning in jest.

She was guessing he was young, very young, from the way he was jumping all over the place with his words. Then again it was a gamble as she had met little vampires who were more powerful than she was. But that was a long time ago, and she'd grown since then.

Shade - November 25, 2003 08:35 PM (GMT)
"I'm not worried. I can take care of myself." he snapped quickly, defensive. His light blue eyes darted up to meet her's. He opened his mouth to say something else, but closed it before he did.

He slowly lowered his eyes back at the ground. "How old are you anyway?" he asked, as if it were an afterthought, he seemed curious though.

Vanessa - November 25, 2003 10:55 PM (GMT)
"Very smart of you to close your mouth the second time, I guess you aren't as bowed up as you seem. Maybe you don't have to be worried. But don't you hear tell you never ask a lady that?" Hannah replies in mock anger. After a moment she laughs, however, and answers his question.

"If you must know, I'm over a century old. And I was twenty three when I died."

Shade - November 26, 2003 12:59 AM (GMT)
"When you died?" he asked quizzically, not completely understanding the statement. He glanced off to the side while he waited for the question to be answered, his attention wandering.

Vanessa - November 26, 2003 03:23 PM (GMT)
"Yes, when I died. To the mortal world, anyway. And when I was reborn as this." She says, for a moment travelling back to other places in other times, as rememberance washed over her conscience.

"Now I think that's entirely too much information to give out to strangers, so I will be on my way." She adds.

Shade - November 27, 2003 04:39 AM (GMT)
He watched her for a moment, than walked cautiously over to her, his hands stuffed in his pockets. "...don't leave me alone?" he asked pleadingly, his expression changing from the slight cockiness it held before to a scared innocence.

He quickly looked down, refusing to look at her. He seemed embarrased and hopeful at the same time, though he tried hard not to show either.

Vanessa - November 27, 2003 02:13 PM (GMT)
"Tell me, when'd you first grow those little dagger teeth of your's, hmm?" She says looking down at him seriously now, though not unkindly.

She was begining to feel that same caring, almost maternal feeling that washed over her whenever she spent time with those younger fledglings belonging to her friends.

Shade - November 28, 2003 01:06 AM (GMT)
He hesitated, unsure of her reaction to him, and her question." ...a little less than a month ago, I think." he stared at the ground for a moment. "Yeah, less than a month."

He kicked at a pebble below him, the most casual thing he could think to do at the moment.

Vanessa - November 28, 2003 07:02 PM (GMT)
"Then you really are a little baby, huh?" She says with a smile, though this isn't a question. For his confidence, she would've pegged him for a little older.

"Don't worry darlin', it gets better with time. My first few years were horrible! And I had someone to help me along. By the looks of things I'd say you're all alone, aren't you?"

Shade - November 28, 2003 07:51 PM (GMT)
He nodded, unsure of where she was going with the conversation. He stuffed his hands in the pockets of his jeans and kept his head down. "What's it matter?" he asked quietly.

Vanessa - November 29, 2003 02:03 AM (GMT)
"It just means that I'll have a little more patience with you then I would if you were older." She noted his downward head and his seemingly off-put demener.

"What is your life like, Shade?" She asks after a moment, not quite certian herself where she was going with this conversation. But she had a point to make, she was fairly sure of that.

Shade - November 29, 2003 02:25 AM (GMT)
"It's... okay." he said after some hesitation. "It could be worse." he pointed out, kicking at another pebble.

His eyes wandered up to look at her, and he let out a small sigh. "...If I'm getting on your nerves I'll leave." he said reluctantly.

Vanessa - November 29, 2003 02:41 AM (GMT)
She shrugs, a rather normal expression which held too much meaning for her. "I really don't mind you, for now, but this place is starting to bore me so I'm probably going to start walking soon.. You can either stay here or keep up."

She doesn't move, however, but continues on. "Let me tell you about my life. I left my good friend Gabriel in Chicago about.. oh, maybe five years ago. But who distinguishes years, anyway, when you've got so many of them? I was living in Boston till then, but I moved here awhile ago. I've got a nice little apartment here and I'm thinkin' of getting a cute little puppy, but I don't have any friends or family here, so I want to go back to Chicago. Isn't that sad? A grown woman chained to one place simply because she's fimiliar with it and knows the people there." She asks this last question over her shoulder, as she does indeed begin walking.

Shade - November 29, 2003 02:47 AM (GMT)
He ran up beside her, his hands still in his pockets. "It's not. It's just how you are. If you really want to go back, you will eventually. You don't need to rush..." he shrugged too. "And it's not so bad here... I mean sure, I don't know anyone either... but I don't really try to... no one really wants to know me, so that doesn't help..." He stopped talking suddenly.

"...I'm babbling again... I have a problem with that." he admitted honestly. "That's usually why people tell me to go away. That, or I just annoy them by being there."

Vanessa - November 29, 2003 02:55 AM (GMT)
"Yes, I know I will probably make my way back there in a matter of time, but I'm worried whether or not Gabe and Isabelle will still be there. Or if they are, if they will forgive me for being so late." She says with a little sigh.

"But don't worry about it, I've found that most people who get annoyed easily, are very annoying themselves." She adds with a wink. It was kind of funny, really, how she could skip from the serious to the playful so completely.

Shade - November 29, 2003 02:59 AM (GMT)
"So....' he started. "....ever kill somebody?" he shrugged and talked quickly. "I mean I haven't... I mean, I dunno what... you do.... I mean... we... no." he swore quietly. "I'm really bad at conversation, too." he informed her, looking down again.

"I think that annoys people too...."

Vanessa - November 29, 2003 03:03 AM (GMT)
She looks down at him, another smile playing on her lips. "Yes. I have. When I was younger and didn't know any better. But I don't now. And you're not that bad.. You ask interesting questions."

After another moment, she asks, "You do mean as a vampire, right?"

Shade - November 29, 2003 03:08 AM (GMT)
"I guess... I'm not really sure what I meant." he tilted his head to the side again. "I mean, why would anyone kill someone if they didn't have to?" he asked quietly, completly sure of his own thoughts. "I wouldn't, that's horrible."

Vanessa - November 29, 2003 03:22 AM (GMT)
"Unfourtantly it's a horrible which happens everyday. And which you'll make happen every so often, whether you mean to or not." She doesn't mean to depress, but it's true.

Shade - November 29, 2003 03:51 AM (GMT)
"...how do you know I will?" he asked, defensivly. He brushed a strand of hair from his eyes.

"I don't want to... and I won't." he added.

Vanessa - November 29, 2003 04:01 PM (GMT)
Hannah rolls her eyes at his defensive reply, finding it childish. "I think I know a little more than you at this point, little rag-baby. Sometimes you just misjudge what a person can or can't take, and you make a little mistake. Yes, it's horrible, but a few people every couple of years is a hell of a lot better than one every night, isn't it?" She spoke with enough authority to make this seem like sense, even though it was twisted enough in it's morals.

Shade - November 29, 2003 05:04 PM (GMT)
He stopped walking and crossed his arms. "Then maybe I won't at all." he snapped at her, growling slightly. "No one can make me..."

He glared at her for a moment, then let his eyes drift off to the ground again.

Vanessa - November 29, 2003 06:01 PM (GMT)
She stopped walking and turned to look at him, arching an eyebrow as his sudden show of furiousity. "I wasn't making you do anything. I'm just trying to pop what false expactations you have on a topic which you brought up, before you do so yourself and get bitchy about it!"

At that, she turned once more and began walking in the same direction she was headed in before.

Shade - November 29, 2003 07:25 PM (GMT)
Slightly hurt and angry at the same time, Shade let her walk. He leaned back against a wall like he had before and let himself slid down to sit on the sidewalk, staying out of the way so he wouldn't be stepped on.

He kept his head down, barely noticing if anyone saw him there, barely caring if anyone did, or what they thought.
