Title: The Bartender

Murphy - November 14, 2003 02:01 AM (GMT)
The tavern was in it's usual state of emptiness. For a very good reason too; it was dark, it was dirty, and it was old. Only the very loyal patrons come here often, the others either got lost or were broke and depressed. Murphy was glad he wasn't one with this crowd. He was bartending, if you could even call it that. The only two drinks the usual patrons asked for was bottled beer or straight up brandy.

Murphy was told to look professional so was wearing a black vest over a burgundy shirt and black slacks. His goatee was trimmed, and his hair was gelled. He was as professional a small time bartender could get. He furiously wiped the bar with a rag as he contemplated finishing his shift early.

OOC| Ah, good! |

The door to the tavern opened slowly, and into the musty old room stepped a most unusual customer indeed. This woman seemed very much out of place, and her sophisticated attire only made her pretty little self stand out more in the darken room.

She donned a wisp of a pale blue slip dress with black lace accents. The dress showed off just enough skin to keep things sexy, and that skin was a milky, pale flesh tone. Her black hair was pulled into a sleek ponytail high on the back of her head, the raven curls escaping to frame her face.

She scanned the room with a hazel gaze, attemping to find someone sober enough to help her. Finally settling on the bartender, she crossed the room and took a perfectly poised seat on one of the bar stools.

"Excuse me, darlin'.." She called for his attention in her normal soft tones, her charming Southern accent apparent in the first word she spoke.

Neither broke or depressed, she was however, lost.

Murphy looked up and spotted a beautiful woman walking into the bar. She was wearing fairly strange clothing for a dingy place like this. Of course there could be a chance she's a heavy drinker but Murphy doubted it. "What can I getcha?" He asked.

She shifted her weight to lean forward, resting her arm catiously on the edge of the bar. This change in position tugged on the neckline of her dress, revealing just a little more of her pale breasts.

"My car broke down a few blocks back, and I'm lost, darlin'. I was wondering if y'all had a phone I could use." Blood rushed to her cheeks in an un-natural blush at admitting her loss of position. But she smiled as she said it, a quick flash of white teeth framed by pale lips.

Murphy was slighty distracted by the woman, until it dawned on his that she just asked a question. "Uh... Phone, ya. Over there, near the washrooms." He pointed to an old, black, box phone. It was a miracle it wasn't a manual dial phone.

"Thanks," She said with a little laugh, aware of the effect she had on him. She slid off the stool and sashayed to the phone. Lifting the reciever, she dialed a number and waited for a moment.

"Silken, darlin'.. I need a ride.." Another moment of conversation, wherein Hannah bestowed her location, and she hung up the phone.

That taken care of she returned to her seat at the bar to wait, looking over the occupants of the room once more.

Murphy decided that she might be for a while, and there was a good chance she wouldn't be buying anything. "Can I get you a glass of water?"

Vanessa - December 5, 2003 02:14 AM (GMT)
"I'd perfer a Martini, please. So dry there's dust on the olive." She says with another smile. "I'm going to be here for a loong time. My friend is always late."

Murphy - December 5, 2003 04:15 PM (GMT)
Murphy laughed. "You'd better watch how you say dust around here, you'd just might get it." He said as he mixed the ingredients. He shook the mix and poured it into a martini glass, the cleanest one he could find, and added a non-dusty olive. "There you go."

"So I take it it's the maid's day off, hmm?" She laughed again, and watched as he mixed her drink. As she recieved the glass, she raised it in a little toast and took a sip.

Murphy - December 5, 2003 10:23 PM (GMT)
Murphy laughed. "She never arrived. So what's a beautiful gal like you doing in this side of town? If you don't mind me asking." He liked having a different face around rather then the regulars who, at this moment, were almost passed out at the pool table.

"I was taking a short-cut home after a rather boring cocktail party.. But then my car decided to die on me and I had to find the nearest phone. Which was you." She says with a little shrug as she places her glass carefully on the bar. "Don't you feel special?" She adds, teasingly.
