.. Didn't do a hell of a lot if you didn't know where you were in the first place. She sighed, folding the small paper tri-fold in on itself, she tucked it into the breast pocket of her bulky leather jacket-It hadn't been her first choice, but it did the job of hiding her holster and badge, which was all she really needed..
The local PD had called in upstate requesting a criminal profiler. Apparently there had been a few rather grisly subway murders within the last couple months..the victims were increasing in number and the last thing this city needed was another serial killer. She'd only seen pictures..but that enough to point out the fact that the murderer got a rush out of what he did. Another possible Ed Gein..
Tapering fingers pressed agenst her temples as a subway rumbled past, kicking up a whirlwind of paper and trash in it's wake. Slanted hazel eyes closed briefly as she drew in a long breath..another migraine was setting in.
"..where are you train seven?.." She whispered softly to herself, looking up after the train had passed. This was one of the older platforms in the city-a floor made of wooden planks and arched, stone-cobbled architecture..one of her passions. Resting the tips of her fingers on a small gargoyle face mounted in the stone-she frowned upon finding a goatee' scribbled upon it in sharpie marker. Looking down the tracks, she caught a brief scent of fire from down the tunnels while her hand still lightly traced the contours of the golem in the wall. Pulling her hand back quickly to glance at her watch, she hissed slightly as a sudden pain shot up her hand. Peering closely in the half light, she watched as a black drop of blood pooled in her palm. A wet glisten shone out on the gargoyles front teeth, running slowly to pool in it's snarling lips.. An unintentional grin touched the corners of her own mouth..
"..damn thing bit me.."
She chuckled to herself-pulling the map from her jacket and wiping her hand on it-balling it up and tossing it towards the corner.
..The apartment complex where she was booked was marked with a ball-point star..
It was almost 7 o'clock..the train was almost 15 minutes late..a slightly rueful smile crossed her face..that was nothing new in this city.
As the train roared by, metal wheels screeching on the rails and sparks flickering, Jonah emerged from the shadows, walking into the public area of the station. As he walked quietly, he brought a jacket, one her "acquired", to his face cleaning the last few smears from his last meal from his skin.
As the last red blotch was transferred to the coat Jonah's senses caught something new. He knew the regulars, the bums that littered his home, so ofcourse he knew that this new sweet aroma of cleanliness couldn't be theirs. He lifted his gaze and surely a young woman stood at the other platform. He grinned and bundled the jacket up in his hands as he walked silently up behind her.
"Seven's late again?" He spoke this when right at her side, shifting his weight in a rocking way from toe to heel. "Damned thing..always is."
