Title: Sires, A Treatises Upon

Heyness **Waves shyly**

Despite the topic title, this isn't actually anything of the sort, just a few questions that arose while creating the character that I intend to role play here. Before I dive into this, I thought I should explain the effective "cannon" I shall be drawing from; namely Vampire the Masquerade and The Vampire Chronicles. With that aside, on with the show!

1.) Were two mortals to be turned by two different vampires; one vampire significantly older than the other, would the mortal turned by the eldest vampire be inherently more powerful than the mortal turned by the younger of the two vampires?

Reason for asking : When I look for my mortal to be turned into a vampire, I would like to roleplay a "fledgling" vampire; one that is weak in comparison to even the youngest of vampires and as such, lives in constant fear of being hunted down and destroyed by the elder kindred. Obviously, were my mortal to inherit even a fraction of an elder sire's power, this would not be the case. My question can effectively be boiled down to: does it matter (Speaking purely from a perspective based upon strength.) who was to sire me?

2.) I seem to remember that in Vampire the Masquerade, a Vampire could vastly increase his or her power by drinking the blood of a vampire older than his or herself. Is this the case at Vital?

Reason for asking : None, just curious. I'm aware that trying to kill another vampire, be it PC or otherwise, would be a seriously bad idea.

3.) Supposing a sire was unhappy with his creation, would it be common place to simply annihilate said creature? Or would he simply cease to support it?

Reason for Asking : Again, simple curiosity.

Thank you for your time.

(Oh, and please feel free to correct any grammatical / spelling errors I make in my posts. I have noticed that some at this board are not fond of being corrected, but this is not the case with me. If there is anything I can do to improve my posts, please tell me ^.^)

(Nearly forgot! If anyone would be interested in turning a mortal, just give me a shout. Especially if you're an admin **Big Brown Puppy Dog Eyes** >.> <.<;; )

Welcome! *gives cookie*

Whoa. Interesting questions. I'll answer them as best as I can, but what I've gathered is just through my experience here. ^^

1.) I think that one might have a bit of an advantage over the other - as in, the one turned by an ancient would have the advantage - but perhaps not in actual power, but in abilities. It seems to me that a lot of the ancient vampires wandering around have fairly powerful abilities and or rare ones. The one turned by a normal vampire could grow into these same traits, but... I think they would come easier to one turned by an ancient (in no small part because the ancient could help their fledgling to develop them).

An example? Uh. My character Nafretiri (who is 3000+) holds a bit of pyrokinesis. If she turned someone, there'd be a big chance that that fledgling would have it as well, though it might not turn up for a while (a while being anywhere from 50 - 100 years). The one who was turned by someone who wasn't an ancient could develop this on their own, but it might take significantly longer.

So, mostly it's abilities. It's kind of like genetics. If your sire has an ability, you have a greater chance of getting it. You'll probably become more powerful in a shorter amount of time (again, short being like... 200-800 years x_x') whereas it might take a little longer for others. I'm not sure if this is making any sense, 'cause I'm sick, and I babble.

2.) No. As far as I know, definitely not. Otherwise Nyx (RIP) once upon a time would've gotten a power boost from the Amman leader. That would have been bad. (Nyx? See sexual sadist in the dictionary. >.>) I'm not saying that drinking another vampire's blood (especially an ancient) couldn't give you some kind of power high, but you wouldn't retain any of the power afterwards.

3.) It depends on which coven. Enashe most probably wouldn't, and same with the Amman and Nephim. The Ishak and Tarepha, however? They might. I know the current Tarepha Leader, Euthalia, most definitely would... and has. o.o;;;

Would you believe I've never turned a mortal on this game? o.o I've been here... how long? A year and a half? Never once turned a mortal. ^^;;

Maybe - after I finish all the other boards I'm on (*sigh* I should've learned by now not to start a bajillion) - we could RP together. We could see where things progressed from there, hm?
