Title: [. The Bain Of Her Existence .]

Jakelle - October 20, 2003 03:52 AM (GMT)
"Godammit!"

A common phrase heard in such a town, whispered now by the gaunt form of a teenage girl, who made a large show of wiping her shoe off on a dumpster. Grimacing in disgust at whatever foul concoction she had unwittingly stepped in, she pushed her hair behind an ear in agitation. The gesture had been made subconscious over the years, and still the blonde strands fells back into place amongst her eyes, the red streak in front clouding her vision a faint crimson.

"Bums...always leaving their crap.."

She complained outwardly, glancing up at the sky to glimpse the dim peach hues of twilight fast approaching. A wonderful time, not to be wasted in an alley. Best get out of here. Lips pursed in determination, she strode swiftly down the cemented river of cracks and graffiti, pausing every so often with a nervous, shifting look. She honestly had no clue where she was, and cut the comical cliche of the lost damsel. If you considered the lanky, flat-chested girl indeed a damsel. Most didn't. Not that she cared.

"Late for the daily show."

This new revelation gave her a second wind. Jon Stuart took presidence over worry, and she began to trot along at a low jog, praying she didn't run into any muggers. She had been warned, oh yes, who hadn't? Even now, her conscience wouldn't shut the hell up.

shouldn't have been working until dark, jak, should be home, should call mom...

Disregarding the nagging voice, she slowed as the workings of a cramp began in her gut. She really needed to start running more, or working out, perhaps. Amazing that one as unfit as she could remains so skinny. It wasn't like she was a vegetarian, and far from an eating disorder. She took junk food where she could get it, like any normal human being would. The fries and coke devoured earlier now seemed like dead weight in her stomach. She leaned against a wall, breathing heavily, and managed to regain her composure somewhat before looking around to receive some minute idea of where on earth she was.

Rieaya - October 20, 2003 04:27 PM (GMT)
Like usual she had been lurking about some randomly choosen street and alley way, having not really any idea what she was doing or where she was going, she was just here. She lurked alot, not really alot but often we'll say. No reason in particular why she did it, she just did. Maybe it was becuase she never had anything better to do, or possibly becuase it was what she liked, or maybe she even did it just becuase she could. Maybe even all of the above was why she did it? Perhaps, I'm doubting it though. She often didn't have more then one reason to do the things she did, at times she didn't even have one reason but still, this isn't the point here we're talking about.

So she wasn't really lurking if we want to get technecail. She had been lurking earlier, wandering about in the shadows between the dumpsters, the graffitti and the drugged-out-boozed-up bums, sometimes even the whores and the suspicious looking shady characters. Or at least it'd been like that earlier, not so much now that she was down deeper into the alley. Now it was just sort of brick buildings, and things that came with brick buildings, nothing to spectaculr, and it wasn't very exciting because of this either. Which she didn't like it when it wasn't, she needed excitement in her life, at least once and a while, she would live far to long if she didn't. Not that she already wasn't living forever, but still, it'd seem like forever if she just lived it out doing nothing, if you know what I mean at all. (Which I wont be surprised if you don't.)

She was in her usual attire. Not really in the usual, since she hardly wore the same thing over and over again, it just always held the same properties. Mostly always leather, if not leather then lace. Always mostly black, sometimes red, never without the sleek pitch black sunglasses either. She'd learned her lesson a while before, with Nico and the club, she'd borrowed some of his but she'd gotten her own shortly after that, and she was glad she had. But like always becuase she was wearing them they covered her gaze of mahagony gaze flecked with molten silver, as well as where it was currently looking at the moment, which was down the alley way, having heard the other's swearing and side comments, wondering who it was and if they'd prove to be exciting.

Back to her attire though, on this wonderful night she was clad in leather, of course. She wore a black leather mini skirt, not as short as some of the previous ones she'd been caught in, but still short enough to be considered a mini skirt. It was tight, again, not as tight as other things she'd been seen in but still, black leather of course. She was wearing black fishnet underneath that, black leather boots on her feet. They weren't the knee high kind but the medium length kind, which I don't know what they're really called so just work with me. By her hip was her trusty whip, various other weapons, mostly knives scattered about here and there on her form. She always had her weapons, and her knives. She hardly used them these days, she didn't need to, not when her nails were like weapons in themselves, not when she was after all what she was. She still carried them though, she'd used them alot in her mortal life and now just carried them becuase she did, for those who didn't know what she was it'd be like how she was in her mortal life, not like she wanted it like that but whatever. Her top was a lacy thing, a tight spagetti strap, red, dark red so it was practicaly black. She wasn't wearing a leather jacket like she usually wore, but she still wore those black leather gloves she wore. The ones that went up to just below her elbow, those ones with the fingers cut off, simply so she could have her digits be out and free. She did it that way becuase of her nails, those long blood red nails that she would never cut. Her hair was black, slightly wavy and curly down to the middle of her back, only now put up in some intercite twisty up thingy. Her lips colored of bloodied cherries pulled into a little smirk while waiting for whoever was down the alley to hurry on up and get over here.

There she was. It was a girl, a mortal girl she noticed. Oh well, it's not like she'd been expecting anyone or anything, better then nothing. She'd been leaning agaisnt a wall, in the shadows, just standing there, wondering if the girl would notice her before she did anything. She didn't intend to feed, she wasn't hungry, perhaps gain some..regulars as she'd heard about before. The mortal was female, she would've preferred males but oh well, anything would do, at least something to amuse her with, even if it was just talking with her or what not.

Jakelle - October 21, 2003 02:39 AM (GMT)
Oblivious to the other near her, similarly oblivious to the knowledge that she was, in fact, not human, Jakelle continued to mutter string upon string of cursewords and phrases. She looked at the sky, attempting to humorously deduct her current position from astrology. A lot of good that would do her, really. Whirling to look at the stars at a different angle, she finally caught sight of the near invisible figure nearby.

With a gasp, she stood rigid, reaching into her pocket instinctively for any sort of weapon. None was found, but she feigned relief. Better to make the potential enemy believe you had a gun than not, she thought complacently.

"Something I can do for you?"

She spoke muzzily, her futile tries to sound intimidating ending in a drunken, low tone of voice that was almost laughable. So much for that line of getting out of here.

ooc| Crappeh post. Sorries ^^;;

Rieaya - October 21, 2003 07:02 AM (GMT)
An amused smirk danced across her pale features as she listened to the girl's words, most of them cursewords and other random phrases. My my this mortal girl certainly liked to swear, either something was going terribly wrong or she just had a foul mouth that needed to be washed out with soap. Not nessecarily needed since Rieaya did her fair share of cussing but still, she couldn't help but wonder how old this girl was and what her mother thought if her mother knew. Not like Rieaya's mother had ever cared what she'd done, at least she didn't think she had, then again she didn't remember at all so she supposed she couldn't really say much.

Yet then the girl had gasped, standing rigid upright, obviously frightened, or at least startled. Did she think she was going to hurt her or something? And if she had been intent on hurting the girl did she truely think she would have any possible chance of stopping her? Of course not, yet then again this girl thought she was just another girl, just another female out and about, in the dark and shadows clad in not to innocent clothing. Why wouldn't she be suspicious?

She shook her head at the girl's question, although most likely it wasn't visable to her. Of course it would've been to any other vampire but this girl wasn't a vampire, so she couldn't have seen it, no way she could have. It was dark, not to her of course she could see as if it was bright as day but again, she was a vampire, one of Nephim too, not like the other would know any difference or anything though. She best verbally respond, so she didn't seem any more shady or fishy then she already perhaps did.

"No, No..Nothing you can do for me, I was just wondering if there was something I could do for you? You look..lost?"

She had to keep the amusement from her voice. Partly at the girl's reaction to her, partly from all her swearing and getting so riled up eralier about whatever it was she had gotten riled up about and had made her swear alot, partly from the girls voice. Her own voice was deep, sultry yet still managed to be feminine. It was alluring, almost musicale and seducing if you will, if she'd been a male. Then again remember she was vampire, and she could control with her voice, if she felt the need, but she didn't really feel it right now. She just made it sound as warm and as kind as possible, or so she hoped it sounded warm and kind, welcoming and friendly, so the girl wouldn't be so suspiscious. Just becuase she didn't like mortals being suspicious of her, let them trust her, then she could do whatever she wanted, it was better that way she thought.

Jakelle - October 25, 2003 04:25 PM (GMT)
Slightly awed at the friendliness implied in the other's tone, she took a step back, straightening still. Blinking as she took in the woman's appearance, she seemed to relax somewhat. She was dressed normally, and did not appear to be a gang member or an escaped lunatic. Those horror movies had her on edge; if she only knew she was on the brink of one of her favorites.

"Yes, I am lost. Do you know how I could get to Grove street, miss?"

She spoke tentatively, weighing her words with utmost care. Better not to give her real address, her conscience had screamed outright, and the slightest nod had been given in response, hands stuffed in her pockets as she thought. Presenting this stranger with her block was as far as she was going to bend, she concluded decisively, tilting her head to gaze at the girl, awaiting a possible answer.

What was it that she expected her to say? Yes, in fact I'll walk you there, being the good citizen that I am, the one that slinks about alleys like stray cat... Well you're no better off yourself, sneered Jakelle, reminding herself not to be so hypocritical. She had been wandering as well, though with reason. Who was to say this strange female did not also have a reason?

She didn't like to think of what such a purpose could be, as alleys usually insinuated dark ones. Misunderstandings, she chided, were also common. Don't be completely trusting, fool, but don't be completely callous either. If she is dangerous, it'd probably be within your best interests not to piss her off.

Rieaya - October 25, 2003 05:11 PM (GMT)
At the girl's statement she nodded, a friendly smile dancing across her features before she stepped away from the dark parts of the wall and alley, her foot steps light, barely audible, soft and slow, propelling her out of her shadow caccoon and dark shell she'd been encassed in agaisnt the wall. She went slow, She didn't want to appear to be running towards the girl, that would be bad, go slow she figured, that way she wouldn't risk frigtening the girl or getting her suspicious or anything.

"I'm sorry to hear that m'dear, that you are lost but i'm glad to say I can help. I know where it is"

That friendly smile still held on her features, her tone the same as it had been before, making sure to have no trace of suspiscion or mischeif or anything in it. Was she truely helping this girl, or was she doing it for her own motives? She wasn't even sure herself, and she didn't think it mattered. Nico had said to get regulars, maybe this girl would be one sometime? Perhaps, she wasn't sure, and really didn't want to think about it now, she'd figure it out later why she was doing this.

"I can take you there if you'd like?"

She asked, tilting her head curiously. She could explian it to her to but it'd sort of defeat the purpose if she ever wished for a regular or something. This way they could talk more, perhaps the girl would think her a good person to befriend..Or something..

Jakelle - October 26, 2003 02:08 PM (GMT)
The woman's offer was met by a surprised glance, which was then quickly concealed as fast as it had sidled onto the girl's features. She sized up the other carefully. In combat, could she take her? Jakelle had never experienced karate classes, even the most basic elements of self-defense she had seen only in the movies. But fighting couldn't be that hard, especially against another woman, who did not seem particularly strong or agile. Looks could be deceiving though.

And besides, what could she want to do with her? Rape was unlikely, unless she had some burly guy-friend around the corner. Jakelle prized her heightened senses, and hadn't gotten that sneaking suspicion yet, so she ruled it out. Robbery? She looked down at herself, deciding that she didn't look very rich. The only jewelry she was wearing was her custom silver ankh, with a dragon entwined about its length. Murder? Now there was a thought, but, upon scrutinizing the woman's frame for the umpteenth time, she doubted that she was insane or even capable of murder unless she was carrying a gun.

"Thanks. That's..very kind of you."

Her tone of voice suggested that trying any funny stuff was highly discouraged; but Jakelle's attempt to be intimidating was by far not her best. If she had really wanted to scare the hell out of someone, there was no telling what might come to her mind. So for now, she extended the olive branch to this bat of a woman. No pun intended.

Rieaya - October 31, 2003 03:40 AM (GMT)
|ooc. ack, sorry it took me a bit long to reply, i didn't notice that there were any replies..heh, so sorry *hides*|

She caught the surprised glance from the mortal. How could she not? She was skilled like that, she wasn't a normal mortal, so she wouldn't miss those things. Or at least she thought she had seen one. Maybe she hadn't, maybe she was imaging that she had becuase if she had been in the mortal's place she would've been shocked and surprised herself and would've let one pass across her features, so maybe she was just assuming she had seen it. But whatever, if she'd seen or not it was there no more, either concealed by the girl or there had never been one to conceal, so it didn't really matter either way.

She smiled, a kind friendly smile although not a big one, careful to keep her fangs hidden and she just nodded, her gait being taken up again as her soft footfalls propelled her closer to the girl, yet out of the alley, obviously heading towards where the girl had asked, yet slow, figuring she'd follow and wanting to give her time to catch up and what not.

She really had no idea what she was planning on doing with the mortal. She wasn't hungry and she didn't particuarlly find it to entertaining to have a regular be female but then again she'd never..sampled females before, so she didn't really know and let it never be said she didnt try everything once. So she'd give it a shot, get the mortal to befriend her and perhaps sample a bit later, who knew. And even if she didn't feed ever off of the female at least she had her known, for future references or what not. After all she did owe Nico a dinner..or maybe she'd already owed him that, maybe not, she'd ask him sometime but now wasn't the time to think of that.

Turning back to see if the girl was following she smiled again, figuring it'd be better if she offered her name, to look less suspicious.

"I'm Rieaya by the way"

She said, trailing off somewhat, obviously leaving a space for her to give her's.
