Bah, and there I was hoping that Infotainment would be at least a triple with all the circulating versions of Lost In Music on it... laugh.gif

Could that include the Goodier session version of Glam Racket maybe...or will they put that session on the MCR reissue?!

Hmm, yes Infotainment Scan will seem rather empty without 14 or so versions of Lost in Music. sad.gif

I take it it will have the single mix (or master or whatever I am allowed to call them) of Glam Racket, Why Are People Grudgeful, and Lost In Music. (I note the discography now notes the versions / mixes are slightly different).

smile.gif

good news too about the radio sessions - the Mark Goodier session version of Past Gone Mad (with MES' can't be bothered out of sync vocals at one point) and 15 Ways (surprisingly enough) are classic. applaud.gif

I've already made my own "alternate" Infotainmen Scan on mix tape.

This is great news, but expensive.

He said radio sessions...

I'd have thought he'd have just said Peel sessions if he meant Peel sessions, unless he's just been deliberately mysterious...

Never knew there were different versions of this track - but I presume (and pray) your comment here is intentionally ironic. Not that I dislike the song, on the contrary, but there doesn't need to be 14 versions of anything.

The single versions, to my ears and from what I can recall, are merely different masters, not remixes. Either way the differences are in no way significant enough to warrant inclusion of the tracks more than once. The reissues might contain rarities etc but should still be an enjoyable listening experience for non-obsessives. Obsessives can hunt down the original single on eBay if they don't have it, which they probably do. That's how it works, folks. I have something of the completist fever myself (within some modicum of reason), but if I really wanted very (very) slightly differing versions of tracks, I would be happy to seek them out myself without subjecting the more casual listener to needless repetitionrepetitionrepetition...

Will In A Hole be any different to the (excellent) + version?

Do I have to buy it again? unsure.gif

I think that's got to be at least a couple of alternate versions of Lost in Music..!

Aren't Sanctuary going to bother with the planned Bootleg 2 set? I was looking forward to that myself.

Oh here we go again... rolleyes.gif finger.gif

biggrin.gif

Bottom line is -

- Clayts' discography admits they are different
- you do
- I do
- I am sure others do too.
- The CD's have a lot of space, I can't see them being filled with all the different takes of Lost In Music.

I think putting officially released tracks comes first myself, no matter how much I like outtakes and bootlegs.

I hate to dredge this up, but a certain compilation that fell short meant I had to hunt on Ebay for a CD single with different mixes, and Ebay as my recent experience has shown is not cheap (well when you take the kid in a sweet shop approach ohdear.gif banghead.gif ).

I better leave it that I suppose. zipped.gif

There are in fact 14 versions floating around...

I agree that I like these type of reissues to concentrate on "cleaning up" the discography by picking up spare mixes and stray tracks. I'm dying to hear "A Day in The Life," but not to pay $20 for "The Collection" or more for the original compilation in came from.

That said, I'm sure that the tracklist for "Infotainment Scan" has already been picked, and if it is anything like the previous Sanctuary reissues I will be pleased.

They could be added as mp3s for computer use, as a bonus, like Portugal on Sparta single.
