Tennent's Lager are sorry to announce that due to
unforseen circumstances beyond their control, The Fall's
Edinburgh performance at Triptych has been postponed.

Originally scheduled to take place in Edinburgh's Liquid
Rooms on April 30th, the show will now take place on May
23rd 2005, at the same venue.

All existing tickets are valid, and refunds are available
at point of purchase.

Tennent's Lager and Triptych regret any inconvenience or
disappointment this may cause.

Poor Athelete and crew..well 2/3 is not bad. I just hope the band is intact. I for one am not at all ready for a line up change in the Fall.

Unforseen circumstances? That's not much to go on, is it? At least give us a bit more info - "unforseen circumstances - can't be arsed" or "Unforseen circumstances - sacked the band"?

They- the fans- will have nothing to do but get pissed.

The Fall are, er, unlucky with cancellations...

I'm sure that would explain it....

I always get a bit nervy about wilfully bland phrases like "unforeseen circumstances" but if there's a new date already, it can't be anything drastic.

Well, granny needs a fair bit of warning to get up to Edinburgh with her bongos these days. Her old legs aren't what they used to be...

Time and time again I get frustrated with Mark E Smith and his total disregard for fans of The Fall.

I had a bad feeling about tonights gig ever since I saw the Glasgow gig a few nights ago was cut short.

Luckily I live near the venue so i only had to walk about 20 minutes but the disappointment I felt was crushing.I was chatting to fans outside who had driven from Manchester and I really fely for them.

Yet again the excuses were flimsy to say the least.I felt for the the guy from The Liquid Rooms who was standing there trying to fend off irate fans from all over the country. The gig was a sell-out.

They are saying that at the rescheduled gig the bands will take to the stage earlier so we will get better value for money ???

The Liquid Rooms is in a residential area and as such the Council ask bands to be on stage earlier than normal.Mark E Smith has played this venue before so knows the score.I for one would rather see The Fall on stage at 9.15Pm that stumble on stage at 11:40.It just doesn't wash.

The promoter didn't even know wherethe band was.A massive kick in the teeth to some of the most loyal fans there is.

But they have club nights until 3am at weekends....

Do you know the official and/or real reason for the cancellation then?

At least I found out here before hauling myself up by train. But, of course, I can't make the rescheduled date. Arse.

Just back.
Well pissed off.
Took a virgin with me (I always do that - just to watch the reaction).
Virgin says he isn't going to go to the rescheduled gig. Can't blame him.
I checked the website a few hours before and there was no hint.
Shite.

Don't you think that we've all taken this quite far enough?
