Excellent! applaud.gif I don't have any of those gigs, so four new aural experiences...Does Session Musician have the "Jngles" Merseybeat...(from memory) coda? One version of the song I have does, but the other doesn't.

Crackhouse on another future issue?

Other news:

Hex Enduction Hour reissue is on the schedule for January 2005 in 2CD deluxe expanded edition (I presume with slipcase for this one). CD1 will be the original album, CD2 bonus tracks including Peel Session 15/9/81, Look Know & I'm Into CB, and 6 live tracks. The live tracks are NOT from the Hip Priest & Kamerads compilation because they would have been prohibitively expensive to license from Beggars Banquet. More details of the live tracks once the tracklisting has been cleared for release.

The Peel Session box set is down for first quarter 2005. All licenses have been obtained, it just needs final clearance from MES. I still haven't been informed whether the most recent session will be included.

Room To Live reissue is also down for first quarter 2005. Since we've put Lie Dream & Fantastic Life onto Slates, we're scratching our heads a bit about bonus tracks for this one. It'll probably have to be live versions of some of the album tracks, plus a live Words Of Expectation from early 1983.

Any other ideas?

All together great news because I've never personally heard "Session Musician" & "Hex Enduction Hour" is one of my favourites. As for added extras for "Room To Live" how "C.R.E.E.P. Show" (the only proper Fall bootleg left):- On a personal note i'd love to hear some personel inter-action during the recording of the album applaud.gif

I'm personally happy that the Hex bonus tracks are not from Hip Priests and Kamarads...if you already have this, the repetition would have been pretty annoying.

Idea: just release all the Fall gigs in circulation in a 500-CD box set. It'd have to be a big box, and none of our families would eat for several months, but it'd sort out a lot of other problems.

I reckon a good live rendition of Detective Instict and Jazzed Up Punk Shit would be top addition to this CD.

Yes, Session Musician is the complete thing with the Jingles Cabaret Merseybeat section. 9 minutes odd.

Crackhouse was done in 1997; probably fits best on Levitate. Still a while to go before we get to that one!

Yeah, I was thinking ahead. By the time Levitate comes out, we'll be too old to care...Off the subject, but while you're here, how about including Countdown on the unreleased songs section on the discography?

The Creepshow bootleg was from 1984 - Wonderful & Frightening World period. Voiceprint were going to release that officially, and now that they're back in the picture, maybe they'll put it out at some stage (although I'm not sure of the legalities over the material - perhaps only Beggars Banquet can claim rights to the live material of that time???).

I presume so. That's the way it was originally presented & the way all the CD reissues to date have been.

The full Peel session version will be on CD2, of course.

Is 'Hey! Marc Riley' ever likely to recieve an official release? I've often wondered what it sounds like.

It sounds just like Hey Bo Diddley with MES singing.

A studio version was recorded in July 1985, so the copyright & master tape is most probably held by Beggars Banquet. sad.gif

Hot off the press:

The latest Peel session IS included in the tracklisting for the box set! biggrin.gif The whole thing just needs to be signed off by MES now.

I think we'd all like to hear more demos and unreleased recordings from the sessions (since there's already a fair bit of live stuff out there). Do any of these exist for the 1981-1983 period? Imagine, for instance, a CD of Room To Live rehearsals!

Indeed, I'd love to hear demos or rehearsal material. But unfortunately Sanctuary has nothing from this period. Nor me.

Why not the gig that was split in half in 1998 onto the reissues of Room to Live and Palace of Swords? You know, the one that ends with the hidden snippet of Backdrop...

Countdown? What's that?

I think it's the instrumental that the Fall opened a few gigs with in 1986. Ark resurrected this song 12 years later and called it Countdown, anyway.
