…short info on the new track!
“The new one” was played as an intro tape on the 1st and 3rd Croydon night, just right before the beginning, perhaps from the new sessions?
Now…in Berlin, begins at 10 min past midnight…
U WANNA - started with something like “I’m quite ahead of wax”(?) and the usual good evening bit (long,long days)
THE NEW ONE - lyrics go like “I think it’s over now” and “I walked up the hill”;
Mark ends song with “hit me, hit me” and “now with my new ear on the right” and “I got my new ear”, also included another “good evening”
SPARTA - ends with something like “…sucking on football”, nothing about idiots in the front row there…(see MOUNTAIN!)
WHAT ABOUT US - long intro
RIDE AWAY - (compact)
THE BOSS - starts with something like “it means nothing” or “in athens”
then something like “dr.boss” and again something about “athens” and “green grass” and things “the boss said”
GRASS GROW - wuff!
MOUNTAIN ENERGEI - Mark does some interesting keyboard in this , “went to the halifax-society,they said to me, you need an APR”(?), “so I went fishing, I got to drop some notes, you stupid id - you f…… idiots”, ” I got a table, a good table, it wasn’t vertical, thought it was for free…” Best version I ever witnessed!
PACIFYING JOINT - applause!
WRONG PLACE, RIGHT TIME - seems to be the new medley with…
SYSTEMATIC ABUSE - like the unseen said, seems to get the new “center” track; for me kind of blindness-feeling, great keys, ben gets switched off there, grrr…
BLINDNESS - again that liberace-thing on keys by mark(unseen’s impression), this time quite melodic, not so dissonant…, “…and there’s no rhythm going on tonite, swing it…” - this said heading to Spencer! Something about a lit candle and everybody going ba-ba-ba-ba…I think here Mark threw the mic-stand over half of the stage into the right corner…
WHITE LINE FEVER - “white line feeever, (…)over, the group is so exhausted of their easter holiday, which seems to happen…, white line feeeever… ” ,funny version, luv’ this, lots of mic-smashing on the floor, abrupt ending, drum go into…
TOUCH SENSITIVE - “…who wrote the car advert, was it 1. Predgill Longmill”(???, this repeated three times), then 2. “Neville Staples” and some mumbling I did not understand , gave mic to audience then, but sang together with them…, again something about car advertising, fellow from the audience ” Ei noo, ei noo, ei noo…”, Ben switched off again grrr again , great keys! applause!
