Title: Fall Fan Stereotypes Continued
Description: They're all the bloody same!

Acton High Street - October 31, 2005 04:35 PM (GMT)
In light of recent discussions, how many of these can you tick? And what has been missed?

Dice Man - October 31, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
Beer/wine-consuming, internet-using male from the North-East owning records by VU & Capt. B.

Still got full hair.

:)

Joseph Holt - November 1, 2005 01:22 AM (GMT)
My hair's not receding, nor have I ever been on the WMC scene, but apart from that you've got me spot on!

Smudger - November 1, 2005 10:34 AM (GMT)
I'm male , I drink beer and wear the T shirts

clayts - November 1, 2005 10:52 AM (GMT)
Male, beer, T-shirts, t'internet

Grog - November 1, 2005 10:56 AM (GMT)
Male, receding (well thinning) hair, drink beer/ale, records by all three, on internet almost daily, have experimented (in the past).

Originally from Bedfordshire. Not been interested in football since I was about eight. Never wear band t-shirts; too tribal for me. Only been in a working men's club once, for a christening party.

I_Am_Not_Appreciated - November 1, 2005 11:24 AM (GMT)
Male ....

Acton High Street - November 1, 2005 11:43 AM (GMT)
Some interesting trends so far. Assuming that there are no bald women on this forum, nearly a third of us are follically challenged. There are at least seven people who voted in the poll who don't consider themselves regular internet users-which makes this poll therefore extremely important :D and the percentage of lower league football fans and WMC users is far lower than I imagined. You''ll all be flocking to us when you can no longer smoke in your style bars and corporate megastadia, you know! :)

Mere Pseud. - November 1, 2005 11:44 AM (GMT)
only 3 conformities - I enjoy being untypical B)

How do you know how many people have voted? I need TFE's superior statistical analysis skills gifts here, but it could be that 100 different people have voted of whom only 7 have hair loss...which would make a 7% hair loss figure...I exaggerate, but you see my point.

I've assumed that there are no bald females on the site and divided the number of voters identifying as 'male' by the amount identifying as 'bald', giving a ratio of approx 1 in 3.

Good point. I'm blind.

mr farmassist - November 1, 2005 01:25 PM (GMT)
voted yes to questions 1,2,5,6,8 & 10 (just to clarify for statisticians out there).
I could conceivably have voted yes to being a northerner but think I'm probably too far north of Lancashire to be included in that category.

No..I can't stand the internet...waste of time...

Cleanville Tziabatz - November 1, 2005 02:36 PM (GMT)
I have never used lsd nor amphetamines. Some of the rest of them apply.

ghostly neutrino - November 1, 2005 03:17 PM (GMT)

male, beer, band tee-shirts....okay, yes, check.

But what a depressingly gra(e)y and constipated visual image of the stereotypical fall fan these profile choices evoke, and in spite of the obvious UK slant.

Man!!

I see dim un-shielded lightbulbs dangling from water stained ceilings; roaches crawling all over the place; fast food wrappers and feces strewn all over the floor; and dozens of feral and disease ridden cats, of course.

Shouldn't this be the stereotypical JOY DIVISION Fan Continued?

Uh, please know that some of us stereotypical U.S. Fall fan males have full heads of hair; active lifestyles;
mortgages; trophy wives; big fat bourgeoise paychecks; and gorgeously round, bouncey and big D-Cup tits that we've self induced with saline solutions ala Richard Speck.

Strength in diversity!

tom_from_sparks - November 1, 2005 03:27 PM (GMT)
I'm a Beer drinking, Plymouth Argyle supporting bloke who owns several Can and VU records...

But I have a lovely full head of hair, some may say rather too much.

AndyM - November 1, 2005 03:37 PM (GMT)
Male, owner of Cap'n/Can/VU records, frequent internet user... Wouldn't these describe a pretty large contingent of humanity?

We'd need more options to get a rounded picture of the stereotype.

Andy

donkeyradish - November 1, 2005 04:16 PM (GMT)
Male, Beefheart+VU/Guinness Drinker
Printed my own Fall T-shirt (dont sell them or anything)
Does Edinburgh count as North?

er. Who voted no to internet (!?)

I also own books by HP Lovecraft. This should be listed!

Viv - November 2, 2005 03:30 PM (GMT)
Ticked every box though I'm not a member of a WMC any more. However, I did partake in a beverage or two too many at a WMC near Chester-le-Street the other week.

Talk about being pigeonholed!

To:Nk*Enroachment-Yarbles! - November 3, 2005 01:54 AM (GMT)
I ticked off 5. I couldn't give a damn about football (soccer to me  ), or alcohol, or working men's clubs - and my hair looks like Thurston Moore ... but the other stuff, yes minus the amphetimines :o :D
