I'd have to say Vixen ... it's pointless, but nothing by U2 can touch Vixen. And thats how the cookie crumbles.

And, I can listen to either but prefer anything by The Fall, in any incarnation, than the static aforementioned u2

That said... that thing on Zooropa that the funny little guitarist man sings is actually rather good. And a lot better than, say, Vixen. But that's the only one. And the poll involves the complete works of U2, which would make me utterly homicidal.

The Eagles, Uriah Heep, Barry Manilow, Firefall, Kenny Loggins, Whitesnake, Molly Hatchet, Asia, Kansas, Barry White, Linda Ronstadt, Andrew Gold, Boston, Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, Plasmatics, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Reba McIntyre, all boy bands, The Captain and Tenielle (sp?), Whitney Houston, .38 Special, Styx, ZZ Top, Christopher Cross, and Toto -- all times 10 trillion.

I only like 3 bands out of your list, so I guess my musical tastes aren't too bad :D

"One" is a fave of mine.... Regardless of the fact it was written by a toss-pot.

You can have all the others on yer list, but don't knock La Ronstadt... she's a fantastic singer. She's made some rubbish records, but just listen to her sing on Philip Glass's "Songs From Liquid Days". Heart-stoppingly great.

I like the U2 song 'Promenade' but still don't see it superseding any Fall material...

Not that I like U2

I think Guide Me Soft is fucking great.

And immesurably better than U2's MLK.

The attitude/intention behind even The Ballard of J Drummer is arguably preferable to that behind any U2 song.

But The Unforgettable Fire, One, and Pride are alright (I'll take this back in a less charitable mood)... but the latter at least would be way better as an instrumental, and better still if MES was complaining about Geoff Travis over it.

Oh so very close!! Drop the U2 (although I do like some of their early stuff) and add Uriah Heap.
I absolutely love the Cars first 3 albums, same with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

I imagine you're also a big Streisand fan.

I'm ready for an exchange anytime. Afterwards I would sell the U2 collection for a lot of money. The Fall song (not sure which) is probably included in at least 2 records I own, anyway. ;)

Some of these polls are hard to pick an option for, but this one was dead easy. I don't know what the worse Fall song is, and I've barely heard any U2, but I have no doubt that the former is better than the entire works of the latter.
