Title: Your least favourite Fall song
Description: Vs. the complete works of U2

Stephen - August 24, 2005 06:18 PM (GMT)
Zoorop-ah!

R. Totale - August 24, 2005 06:26 PM (GMT)
Nothing that U2 have recorded can be as bad as Reprise: Jane Prof. Mick Ey-Bastardo, surely?

One of my faves! Certainly beats 'Beautiful Day'.

That's like one of those impossible conundrums that destroy computers like in The Prisoner..

""Beautiful Day" and "Reprise: Jane Prof. Mick Ey-Bastardo".. Which is worse? WHICH? AAAGH!!!" :banghead:  :none:

BANG!

To:Nk*Enroachment-Yarbles! - August 24, 2005 08:07 PM (GMT)
I'd have to say Vixen ... it's pointless, but nothing by U2 can touch Vixen. And thats how the cookie crumbles.

Blue Moth - August 24, 2005 08:09 PM (GMT)
Reprise: Jane Prof. Mick EY-Bastardo is f*king funny.

U2 is sappy as all hell.

And, I can listen to either but prefer anything by The Fall, in any incarnation, than the static aforementioned u2

Why, I'd even put on Haff Found Bormann before Pride at any party

fallchase - August 24, 2005 09:43 PM (GMT)
u2 is alright but the fall are way way better

Steve Local - August 24, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
I dream of the day when Bongo stops recording and performing and setles down into his self-satisfied smug retirement.

That said... that thing on Zooropa that the funny little guitarist man sings is actually rather good. And a lot better than, say, Vixen. But that's the only one. And the poll involves the complete works of U2, which would make me utterly homicidal.

DJAsh - August 25, 2005 12:06 AM (GMT)
All that waving-flags-crap at Red Rocks..load the chuffin' Gatling..

Drjohnrock - August 25, 2005 01:45 AM (GMT)
My least favorite (sorry, US spelling) Fall song is better than:

the complete works of U2, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Sting, the Bee Gees (together and all solo/other combinations), Toby Keith, Tom Petty (with and without the Heartbreakers), the Buckingham/Nicks version of Fleetwood Mac (and all solo/other offshoot projects), the Cars, Meatloaf, Gwen Stefani, Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, Journey, Britney Spears, Richard Marx (Marks?), Michael Bolton,
The Eagles, Uriah Heep, Barry Manilow, Firefall, Kenny Loggins, Whitesnake, Molly Hatchet, Asia, Kansas, Barry White, Linda Ronstadt, Andrew Gold, Boston, Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, Plasmatics, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Reba McIntyre, all boy bands, The Captain and Tenielle (sp?), Whitney Houston, .38 Special, Styx, ZZ Top, Christopher Cross, and Toto -- all times 10 trillion.

I only like 3 bands out of your list, so I guess my musical tastes aren't too bad :D

Let me guess the three--U2, Petty/Heartbreakers, and The Cars. Am I close?

those are some interesting bands on the list

LutenAnt - August 25, 2005 06:11 AM (GMT)
the cars kick ass

not the fall by a stretch

but the first three cars albums are fine

Gaz - August 25, 2005 07:14 AM (GMT)
"One" is a fave of mine.... Regardless of the fact it was written by a toss-pot.

Linda Ronstadt

You can have all the others on yer list, but don't knock La Ronstadt... she's a fantastic singer. She's made some rubbish records, but just listen to her sing on Philip Glass's "Songs From Liquid Days". Heart-stoppingly great.

BEZENBY - August 25, 2005 11:45 AM (GMT)
I like the U2 song 'Promenade' but still don't see it superseding any Fall material...

even the Ballard of J Drummer

fallchase - August 25, 2005 02:41 PM (GMT)
i like barry manilow

Bonkers in Brampton - August 25, 2005 03:40 PM (GMT)
Even the worst U2 song must be better than "Guide me soft"

Bonkers in Brampton - August 25, 2005 03:41 PM (GMT)
Not that I like U2

worthless recluse - August 25, 2005 04:09 PM (GMT)
I think Guide Me Soft is fucking great.

And immesurably better than U2's MLK.

worthless recluse - August 25, 2005 04:13 PM (GMT)
The attitude/intention behind even The Ballard of J Drummer is arguably preferable to that behind any U2 song.

But The Unforgettable Fire, One, and Pride are alright (I'll take this back in a less charitable mood)... but the latter at least would be way better as an instrumental, and better still if MES was complaining about Geoff Travis over it.

Oh so very close!! Drop the U2 (although I do like some of their early stuff) and add Uriah Heap.
I absolutely love the Cars first 3 albums, same with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

I imagine you're also a big Streisand fan.

Most of Middle Class Revolt. Brix's screeching on Dont Call Me Darling.

The Eccles Connection - August 25, 2005 08:51 PM (GMT)
The important question to ask is that does Bono actually exist....

Apologies, missed point of poll.

Listening to U2 is on par with listening to the above.

My least favorite Fall song is prob. The Reckoning.

I like the Brix screeching, in Don't Call Me Darling, and other ones.
It's totally Fall.

fallchase - August 27, 2005 05:12 AM (GMT)
bruce springsteen is better then u2 by far

Rosa Dartle - October 8, 2005 03:25 PM (GMT)
I voted for option #2.

I hate "The Colisseum" that much.

Can't stand U2

Least favourite is "Victoria"-absolutely pointless cover that fails to improve on the original.

I own records by U2, Madonna, Bee Gees, Fleetwood Mac, The Cars, The Eagles, Boston and ZZ Top :banghead:

I'm ready for an exchange anytime. Afterwards I would sell the U2 collection for a lot of money. The Fall song (not sure which) is probably included in at least 2 records I own, anyway. ;)

Some of these polls are hard to pick an option for, but this one was dead easy. I don't know what the worse Fall song is, and I've barely heard any U2, but I have no doubt that the former is better than the entire works of the latter.

799thJim - March 18, 2009 07:53 PM (GMT)
another for least favourite fall song, possibly Junk Man, over the works of U2.

Quicker to listen to, as well.
