Title: Fall - Live to Air Melbourne 1982
Description: Are they all double CD & 14 Tracks

High Tension Line - July 19, 2005 04:14 PM (GMT)
I've noticed looking around websites certain inconsistencies - some describe this as having 14 tracks & double CD - with 11 on CD 1 and 3 on CD - some with 8 on CD 1 and 6 on CD 2 & some as 11 tracks and a single CD. Some also suggest 11 tracks as a single CD + a limited edition of 3 tracks on a second CD - Fall discography suggests this never happened.

I understand from reading around about some confusion regarding tracklisting on packaging that may account for this.

On the Fall discography it states that ALL released copies are 2 cd and 14 tracks - is this still the case as I have ordered a copy and are a little concerned I may not get the whole thing. The Fall track record seems to suggest it's a 14 track double CD on original release.

Basically, is the 14 track double CD on all releases still the case?

Also does anyone know if this is likely to get an expanded/remastered/reissue job ?

All copies contain 14 tracks over 2 CDS, presumably because no second pressing was neccessary.

From discography:

The complete gig was supposed to be on the first CD with only the 3 encore tracks (final 3 songs) on the second CD. This second CD was to have been issued with the first 1,000 copies only. However, all released copies appear to have both CDs with the tracks split as shown above. Totally Wired is called Totally Twisted on the disc label. Hexen Definitive does not include the Strife Knot section of the song, despite the title.

Thanks for your replies Octophone & Stephen - it looks like I will get the whole thing then.

Is this going to get the re-release treatment? It's a great gig. especially Totally "Twisted" and Joker Hysterical Face

It's not on Sanctuary's future release plan. (At the moment, anyway.)

I've always regarded it as In A Hole's very poor relation. Which I'm sure will please Mr Paton enormously given the NZ/Oz animosity

great version of hard life in the country on there though. was listening to it the other day. bought it at a car boot for ... oh sorry wrong thread.

Haven't listened to this for a while but remember hammering it for a good few weeks when I first got it. Is this the one where the encore seems to be a much better quality recording than the actual gig? Why is this? It just sounds clearer.

Was just thinking about this album after listening to the recorded version of I'm Into CB, which made me lust for the WHERE YOU GONNA GO? WHAT YOU GONNA DO? Or else you're for it boy version on Live to Air.

I was looking through my CDs the other day and found this album. I can't even remember buying it and forgot that I had it. :ohdear: So I've been playing it in the car for a day or two. The sound quality is pretty bad. Having given it a spin a couple of times I was going to stick it back in the CD rack, but thought bugger it, I'll play disc two while I've got it out, even though there are only three tracks on it.

Blow me down if there wasn't six tracks!!! Don't know why only three were listed but it turned into a real treat. CD2 is deffo better than CD1.

The last three tracks listed on the sleeve as being on disc one are actually at the start of disc two for some reason.

funny that, quality control being what it is

I've actually been playing disc 2 non-stop for the last few days. Well, non -stop for the relatively short journey to work and back. I'm really enjoying it. Deer Park was always a fave track and its done brilliantly. It's thrill, tense, and hilarious at the same time. I've remembered why I got hooked on The Fall again.

Who's playing keyboards? Not MES surely??? I have visions of him performing Jerry Lee Lewis like with one foot on his keys. I wish it were so.
