Title: Adult Net website

Conway - May 31, 2005 11:10 AM (GMT)
I haven't received any comment back from Brix yet. But it's been finished for a week, so I thought I might as well let you know where it is:

nice site conway :applaud: i suppose it will exist as an entity unto itself given there's not much room for expansion. one thing though - its very girly with all the pink - its not a criticism, just an observation/opinion.

clayts - May 31, 2005 01:19 PM (GMT)
Last time I checked, Brix was still female, so pink and flowery is fine by me.

 yes but you're a boy! how typical - and she's a girl - she might not like to be pigeonholed in that gurlie gurlie way. then again she might not have a problem either - what do i know?

clayts - May 31, 2005 02:14 PM (GMT)
Aw, I'm pretty sure pink and flowery is fine - look at her lovely record sleeves :)

thefrenzexperiment - May 31, 2005 02:26 PM (GMT)
Nice one Conway!

I like the Pitchfork article, 'Adult Net Voted #15 in Top 20 Worst Post-Breakup Debacles'....very funny!

Well done!

:applaud:

Oh yes...

My mate Richard snogged her in the back of a van after a gig in Derby in the early 90s....

Lucky man!

:grrr:

freeranger - May 31, 2005 06:12 PM (GMT)
i drunkenly bumped into her in the good mixer in camden in summer of 1995, she was doing a festival in ireland and i advised her to bring her tent cause it was the only way to see an irish festival

fallfandave - May 31, 2005 07:00 PM (GMT)
Great looking site that- Conway :D

like the lettering
the pink girliness of it
her stuff was very girly though
i couldnt help readin the introduction as though there was some hidden sarcasm in it, even though there isn't...cos u have always said u never much liked brix's part in the fall [although u like that scream on oleano]
was it hard to make it sound like u r a fan of the adult net?
or have u become a fan now?
or have u always been a fan of brix bein in the adult net, instead of the fall?
;)

As the proud owner of the limited edition Brix interview pic disc (thanks, Kris!) I fully endorse this site.

strontium dawg - May 31, 2005 08:40 PM (GMT)
Great stuff, Conway!

I'm working my way through the interviews and they're cool. They're full of bodyguards and Rohypnol habits and copping off with best friends' daughters and Katie Puckrick dancing on I Am Curious Orange!

Looks great, too.

The Scunner Campbell - May 31, 2005 09:06 PM (GMT)
Nice lookng site Conway, but I have a problem with:

"Brix is best known for her Rickenbacker guitars."

Certainly not the first thing that comes to mind for me! (yeah I know I'm quoting out of context - been working with lawyers too long)

You are very welcome Martin! That was fall related btw.
Conway the sight looks great and I am honored to have been thanked by you.

Great stuff, very nice! Just taken back abit by the fact that there was no inner sleeve info on the US edition of the album though, just a clear plastic sleeve.

Conway - June 1, 2005 03:58 AM (GMT)
I've just added some photos from the one and only live gig Adult Net did, at the ICA London in 1987. Many thanks to well-known Fall photographer Paul Lewis for digging out these photos and allowing me to use them on the site. :)

Conway - June 1, 2005 03:58 AM (GMT)
Gaz, you'll like photo 6. ;)

Ah, no comment Dave. The site is supposed to be neutral and factual without any editorial slant. ;)

(OK, so the homepage is kinda PR campaign-speak...)

 Bloody lawyers, see what they do to your brain!

Reading it *in context*, on a page that is about "Brix & her guitars", I think it's a fair comment. Your honour, I rest my case.

I take full responsibility ;) i see it as a strange series of events that started with that picture disc..you did do a such a nice job, it's very pretty and informative..What a love story..I didn't know any of that. I was just at the metro and thought about it..

My goodness, that was a lot of costume changes.

A good site.

Can I take it scanning photo's from, say, the NME articles presents legal problems?

If not, would be nice if they could be added at some point, I have at least two old NME / Sounds things on Brix that I'd scan myself if I didn't have problems getting my scanner working with this pc... :gun:

Well, Brix did seem to be a fan of David Bowie...

Very good website! Having not known a single thing about Brix's stuff outside of The Fall, that made a pretty interesting read. Great work.

The Scunner Campbell - June 1, 2005 08:44 PM (GMT)
Where exactly are the photos on the site? I'm being stoopid or Mozilla's not showing me something. (probably the former)
