Title: QUESTION!
mantpl - July 31, 2003 09:07 PM (GMT)
If one wanted to buy or sell Fall CD's on this message board then that would be okay (despite The Fall not receiving any payment from that transaction)
Likewise, if I asked someone on this board if they could burn me copies of say [deleted], [deleted] and [deleted] in exchange for 3 copies of any of my Fall CD's would that be ok?
I can undertand that with COTC things would be different!

well i guess it must be...or this section would be called let's rip off the fall

Sorry, some RULES:
1. Buying & selling official releases is OK - it's called the secondhand market.
2. We don't condone burning CDR copies of official releases. Any messages requesting this will be deleted. Don't deprive MES of his income - go and buy the CDs! Just about everything can still be bought on the internet, if it's not in stores near you.
3. Trading/swapping unofficial live recordings is OK, selling for cash is not.

Fair enough Conway
The last thing I would want to see is MES & Co. turning to dust!

I'll burn you a CDR copy Dave. Do you want the original mix or the MES drunken midnight rambling rerecorded a cappella version?

RE Conway's rules, here's a good one, which I would help is best advice, consideration to others and all that.
Nothing to do with the current request for CD's, a request that's vanished off here now, but the point is still valid.
If putting a message on here, asking to buy items by The Fall, if you respond to an offer to sell items, say something like 'I will come back to you, I need to consider this; if that is the case.
PLEASE do not insist you will definitely buy items, and any further items which are mentioned, say you are about to make payment, then disappear off the face of the earth.
I know people get busy, things happen - I myself am not perfect in keeping implied promises, or at least in a timely manner, however I stop short of saying I will buy something (more than once) then disappearing.
Stranger.
