Brighton will be my next The Fall-gig. Seen them a few times last three years. Travelled from Norway to see them three nights in a row in Liverpool. A very good trip to a new city, excellent Fall-venue - the toilets excellent old school - sharp gigs, and my old favourite John Cooper Clarke in fine form. He makes himself laugh! If the new songs is anything to go by, the new Fall-album will be another little gem.

I like Brighton, and my joint favourite gig in my life (the other being the Stooges playing Hammersmith the same year) was when The Fall played there in 2005.

I should probably go. Trouble is the guy I used to go to such gigs with is now a permanent pisshead, as opposed to a part-time one. Not wild about going to gigs a long way away on my own (I have done, but prefer not to make a habit of it). Maybe this might be the one where I arrange to meet other fans for a change, nearer the time (if I have a job that pays better by then too - had some very good calls / mails about some this week, ironically while I'm still ill :rolleyes: ).

I think I might go ahead and just get one at the end of the month and worry about the logistics later. I have got mate in Brighton who came with me last time they played there and I stayed at theirs, but ..... I don't know if I can convince him to come to another, he likes them enough to see them from time to time, but this one might be too soon. :D

Can I just warn people that my brother is coming to this one, and especially those who are thinking of wearing Fall t shirts. My brother struggles with Fall fans at the best of times, but he'll pay special attention to those in Fall apparel.

It's a bit like dogs and postmen. Don't know why, but he starts foaming at the mouth. The orange Sparta ones make him particularly angry. I lent him mine years ago, and the next time I saw it he'd ripped it up for fishing rags.

I'll keep him on his gimp lead to be on the safe side.
