Ivanhoe's Two Pence got my vote, followed by -

2. M5
3. Hey! Student
4. Calendar
5. Bo Doodack

Neal Cassady - July 8, 2011 08:01 AM (GMT)
I think this is a much better bunch of songs that poll #2

Could have been quite a few, but went for Janet Vs Johnny.

trickleondaftdan - July 8, 2011 11:14 PM (GMT)
Simples...............MMG.

Gaz - July 9, 2011 01:44 AM (GMT)
No "Ed's Babe" on any of these polls?

Where's it from? EP track? I've got it on comps and love it.

There are other EP tracks polled though so I don't get why it's missing. Anyways...

Nice to see two others besides me going for "Ivanhoe's...".

Hidden gem. I love it to bits

'Twas a single, A-side. :)

Ahhh, got ya - thanks :)

It's a cracking track, innit?

Sure is, i agree with what you were saying about 'Free Range' it's not nearly as amazing as some seem to think, one of the weaker tracks on Code-Selfish for me.

Gaz - July 9, 2011 02:06 AM (GMT)
... and Code Selfish is a belter.

Best album they put out between Frenz and The Infontainment Scan, imho.

Correct.

However, no one has yet discovered my "deliberate mistake". In one of these three polls.

Starsky-Tandoori - July 9, 2011 11:55 AM (GMT)
Ivanhoe's,

duckpin236 - July 9, 2011 05:21 PM (GMT)
Bo Doodak

duckpin236 - July 9, 2011 05:44 PM (GMT)
"Wings" was an A side
the single was a Double A Side release
huh? huh?
same for Rollin' Dany

For the purposes of these polls (which sadly, some people choose to mock rather than vote on :P ), I've taken these tracks to be the non-lead song.

The "deliberate mistake" I mentioned was Clear Off, which was only released on 12", and was the second track on side A of Call For Escape Route, thus not a b-side either, but it's good enough for the B-sides compilation. -_-

:D

Edit: Just saw your vote - my apologies.

duckpin236 - July 9, 2011 08:41 PM (GMT)
Nefariously tricky - I should have suspected as much
Good one :)

flickeringlexicon - July 9, 2011 08:44 PM (GMT)
I always thought 'Cab It Up'/'Deadbeat Descendant' was a Double-A side, but I guess it's not... :(

The sleeve does tend to suggest that, I think.

But no, Deadbeat Descendant is definitely a b-side. :)

It has 'hit' written all over it, to my ears, though. Not that 'Cab It Up!' is shabby, either... B)

Hang on a minute, though - how come Cab It Up is on 458489 B-Sides, and not Deadbeat Descendant?

Just noticed this - my original info came from the discography.

^^ Always thought Cab It Up was the B-side, considering Deadbeat Descendant is on the A-Sides album.

My poll (poll 2, incidently! ) is a sham. :cry2:

flickeringlexicon - July 9, 2011 09:20 PM (GMT)
:o I didn't think of checking the A-Sides/B-Sides albums, and I just listened to A-sides the other day... I guess it didn't register, or only subconsciously.

Thinking about it, I always assumed DBD was the a-side. I guess it's because it's the lead track on Seminal Live, and I don't actually have the single.

And they played 'Deadbeat' much more often live... there are but a few 'Cab It Up!'s' :(

I think, with a project as massive as these polls, it would be more surprising if there were no glitches of any kind... If I had done it, for instance, it would be really messed-up...

Further confusion...

http://www.discogs.com/Fall-Cab-It-Up/master/264539

Discogs says there was a 7" version with DBD as the a-side, but all other issues has CIU as the lead song.

That's why I was saying "Double-A" side... it's really hard to tell by the cover, etc.

I think the three polls were excellent and the constructor did a fine job given the trying circumstances.
And I am speaking as one who was robbed of recognition of a fair answer, so I cannot be biased.
Good work RM :applaud:
May the Deity cause his face to smile brightly on your house and family.

Seconded. Really, supremely excellent job, RM. These polls can be used as reference lists, as well. B)

What fair answer were you robbed of recognition, DP? :(

duckpin236 - July 10, 2011 06:30 PM (GMT)
the 2 "double A sided 45s" wherein you cleverly tried to foist them off as B-Sides and dared the FOF to find the hidden ringers

My apologies. :(

I was considering missing out Wings for it's A-side status, but I decided to opt for non-lead tracks (thus giving every single a chance). I must admit you taught me something when you pointed out the similar Rollin Dany anomoly, and for that I am grateful. Clear Off was included for my reasons stated, even though this too features only on an A-side.
