Brix.

R. Totale - September 1, 2004 09:39 AM (GMT)
Normally TNSG.. But I'm loving TWAFWOTF right now

Conway - September 1, 2004 09:52 AM (GMT)
Brix who? Was she the blonde?

Mr. Marshall - September 1, 2004 11:06 AM (GMT)
WAFW and TNSG, it sort of tails off...whimper not bang, after those two...

requiredfield - September 1, 2004 01:11 PM (GMT)
I voted for Bend Sinister, but any of the albums 1-4.

REX - September 1, 2004 01:14 PM (GMT)
Again, here I'd argue PBL has more in common with RTL than any of the Beggars material. And if this is all about Brix, why not do it thematically and throw in CC and LUS?

Look at me, naysaying.

Thought chronological was the way to go...

It is. I'm not trying to be the supreme god naysayer. I think only voting for 1 album out of 30 choices or whatever does skew the results a bit, because every last one of us might consider a particular album to be our #2, and yet it wouldn't rate at all on these polls. I'm just not sure what these particular polls will tell us that any of the others didn't. ;)

I am just happy to finally have a chance to vote DT. :devil2:

Oh good god. It's the Domesday Pay-Off Triad Plus. :P

The Domesday Pay-Off Triad was apparently the Mr. Pharmacist single, the Bend Sinister album, and the Hey! Luciani single.

DPT+, however, is not a proper compilation of the tracks from those releases, so I don't really get it. DPT+ inexplicably features "There's a Ghost in My House" and "Haf Found Bormann," yet it doesn't have "Dktr. Faustus" anywhere. It also does not featuring "Living Too Late"/"Auto-Tech Pilot" like the CD does.

I know this because I bought the damn thing on vinyl yesterday (!!). Weird coincidence.

B)

I have always wanted to hear Dktr. Faustus -- it gets mentioned on this board alot. Being a DPT man (thanks for clearing that up) I always thought that song was Peel session only.

I actually really love Dktr. Faustus, Cleanville... I voted for it as my favorite track off Bend Sinister in the poll. But it's the one a *lot* of people complain about here as their ultimate horrible Brix moment. Every time you see a reference to "Banana!!" and the like, it's Dktr. Faustus.

Cleanville Tziabatz - September 1, 2004 06:09 PM (GMT)
At some point I am going to have to drag my vinyl a couple thousand miles to where I am and have a "Hot Aftershave Bop" / "Auto tech Pilot" / "Living too Long" etc vodka party. Maybe when the "Bend Sinister" remaster comes out so that I can have "Faustus" in there, too.

Anything's a good reason for a vodka party!

I didn’t look at ‘Show Results’ before voting (for TNSG) and was slightly surprised that, at the moment at least, WAFWOTF has twice as many votes…I love WAFWOTF but for me TNSG is the definitive Brix era Fall album…its got ‘My New House’, ‘Paintwork’ and ‘I am Damo Suzuki’ in one glorious sequence – life just doesn’t come much better than that…

Indeed, it looks like a lot of the people who preferred another period on the "all-time best LP" poll prefer WFW to TNSG in this particular period... interesting. I was one of them, though I guess most voted for Hex/Grotesque last time. Slates also did rather well this time round, though to nothing like the same extent, suggesting it has some appeal to Brix-era fans.

Funny that - there are some of Brix's moments that I detest (e.g. Vixen, Glam Racket/Star) but "BANANA!!" isn't one of them - I think the interplay between the voices on that one is marvellous.

I voted for Frenz - not because I really think it's better than PBL, but I listened to it the other day and thought it was the dog's nuts.

Cleanville Tziabatz - February 15, 2010 12:34 PM (GMT)
I voted for Wonderful and Frightening World Of The Fall.

She also provided the intro to Masquerade.

"This is new, fresh..."

-_-

Voted Bend Sinister, the first Fall LP I bought, and still a personal favourite. :)

Blimey. For some reason this had never occurred to me before. :ohdear:

This Nation's Saving Grace or IAKO are the best on that list. -_-

Then Bend.

A rather predictable vote for PBL although I'm pleasantly surprised of TWAFWO's current co-lead.

Can't help it, I love Kurious Oranj. Could be Jerusalem, Overture, Bad News Girl, or even the colour of the sleeve.

I just like it.

rainmaster - February 16, 2010 09:01 PM (GMT)
Curious voting here, being as votes decrease steadily as the list goes down.

Did people progressively dislike Brix's contributions more as the albums went by?
