Great gig, terrible support from "The finest" And "Comedian" Adolph Chip Pan. Funniest part of the night was some wag shouting, yes you guessed it "SHOW US YER KNOB" to mr chip pan. Such bitter sweet memories.... :D

And did he? Sometimes you have to go with the flow of the evening...

Luckily for us at the front, no he didn't. Why are fall support acts so bad. A friends band called Kerosene supported them at Stockport town Hall on the Shiftwork tour and they were bloody shite! and I damn well told em an' all.

I've seen quite a few good 'uns, I usually expect them to be OK. Sounds like yours was a bad evening - but unforgettable, obviously!

I was at both of these.I remember the ritz being top .opened with Arms Control Poseur....................did Zagreb and Don't Take The Pizza....................Stockport Townhall..................can't remember too much got pissed on guiness and cadged Camel Lights of some guy most of the night.....................was good though I think. Prior to the gig I and a mate went into a little pub just down the road and round the corner from the townhall (nowt was open as it was a Sunday I think), anyway as we passed the pub window to the door there sat in the window round a tiny table was Hanley, Scanlon and Dave Bush.
So we had a few beers in there........it was this night that I noticed how tall Steve Hanley is........when he was at the bar he was stooping under the shelf with the glasses on to speak to the barman!
I think the pub was The Jack Horner or something.........very long time ago........it's the only time I've ever seen any of the band not on stage.............until then........didn't go over and saw owt though because we didn't want to seem like twats. Saw them about a week later at Blackpool and that was top too...only about 50 people there..........it was mid December though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[QUOTE]Well, they were dropped from east west records. The singer went on to form a band called summat like "fuzzgun", another sub-neds atomic dustbin non starter. damn that crusties eyes DAMN HIS EYES!!!!!!
P.s. Saw Craig Scanlon downing a couple of cheeky pints in the Abercromby boozer before playing at the free trade hall

not that Ritz Chase, this Ritz is a very different sort of place, although to its credit it was the venue for my first ever Fall gig

i saw a few fall gigs at the ritz.
you can't beat a well-sprung dancefloor.
fallchase - September 3, 2004 12:39 AM (GMT)
especially for a song like telephone thing.
slates - September 13, 2004 12:15 PM (GMT)
My first Fall gig was at the Ritz (Dec 88), the sprung dancefloor was mega, used to be great seeing the seats move in time to the music.

Ah, yes, that was a very special week for me. The Fall at The Ritz, New Order (+Mondays/ACR) at G-Mex, and Morrissey at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. The holy trilogy! Best Xmas present ever.
