Title: Looking for last few Fall CDs
jbrodsky - May 17, 2010 04:37 AM (GMT)
Hey there!
Today is one month since I started purchasing albums by The Fall. I've managed to cover a loooooot of ground in that time, and all that I still need are the following.
1997a - In The City - 1997 Artful edt.
1999 - The Marshall Suite - 1999 Artful edt.
2001b - Backdrop - 2001 Cog Sinister/Voiceprint edt.
2009b - Slippy Floor - 2009 Action edt.
I can pay with Paypal, though keep in mind you'd be shipping to Canada.
Looking for a fair price: I know that this stuff won't be cheap, but please don't gouge me. Thanks!
EDIT Just for those reading the first post, I only still need the Artful press of In The City... Thanks!

Crikey, you've covered more ground in one month than I've managed in five years!
I can't help with them, personally, but just to let you know the Slippy Floor single is still available from Action Records, I think:

'In The City' is virtually impossible to find.

Located a Marshall Suite. The issue with the Backdrops on Amazon is that I continually email the sellers to make sure that it's not the Pseudo-Indie Label bootleg issue from 1994 and I either get a response back that it is or no response and all, and I don't want to risk that much money for it to not be the Cog Sinister version. Details like that, along with my inability to locate In The City... in any marketplace, used or new, is why I appealed to the Fall fans here that have a copy but might not necessarily be completists.
Thanks for your nudge in the right direction regarding Slippy Floor, Buy Kurious!, I'll likely place an order for it there over the next few days. Can anyone with it tell me if the versions of the songs there differ in any way from YFOC? Are they different performances, different mixes, etc. Thanks again.

What's wrong with the Pseudo-Indie release of 'Backdrop'? I've heard the sound quality of both versions are the same, ie the Cog-Sinister version is not a remaster if that's what you're after.
The versions of Slippy Floor and Hot Cake are indeed different to the LP mixes. There is quite a difference of opinion on here about which versions are the best. Me, I love 'em both, so I'd grab a copy while you can. :)

I was under the impression from this site and elsewhere that the Pseudo-Indie pressing was a bootleg and that Cog Sinister's issue was similar to why Frank Zappa legitimized those 'Beat The Boots' albums.

Mark would never pick up a bootleg and press it himself

Found a place that still has copies of the Cog Sinister Backdrop for standard retail price!
I'll link you guys if mine ships. :D
Just In The City... for me now, thanks! Really hope someone comes through.
EDIT: It shipped. :)
