Well it’s my birthday today and instead of receiving (although I hope there is some of that) here’s some giving. And hey Christmas is fast approaching - remember what your parents always said about better to give than receive.

Some time ago there used to a number of things shared amongst this community but the vines withered away. I know not why nor am I am looking to restart the concept. But rather I wish to indicate that I have a couple of things that Fall Forum members may be interested in.

I had the great pleasure, a small amount of excitement (well probably a bit more) and a modicum of trepidation to be able to interview Martin and Marcia on the afternoon of 22 June 1990 just before the Brisbane show that night. It was done at the (then) Toowong studios of radio station 4ZZZ who were the local promoters. It is a community radio station run by volunteers & still going strong today almost 35 years after it started.

I was asked the day before to do it. I was never given any notes or info about the tour & God hadn’t invented the internet yet, so yeah I went for it and there are a few stupid but not necessarily pointless questions in there. It is what it is & listening back after almost 20 years …. well you know.

If any of the band ever read these notes I would like to thank them for making the trip & playing a great set in Brisbane that night. Please hurry back soon. I would like to thank Martin & Marcia for being so generous with their time although I suspect that at least Martin was beginning to get that “trapped” look in his eyes towards the end.

I have edited out almost all of the music I played that afternoon. There is 30 minutes of conversation which has been taken from a cassette dub made at the time. Sadly I didn't use a new cassette but taped over something so the sound is not prefect.

So if you are interested and prepared to abide by the standard vine rules then put your name below and away we go. Remember I am in Australia & the mail times expand at Christmas. It may be easier if you are in Australia or NZ to be in a second grouping as who knows how long the parcel will bounce around up in those northern parts.

Also see the other vine I started about the Sydney Livid Festival DVD. Maybe you need/want both disc’s. If so make it clear in the post please.
