We are very familiar with The Fall denigrating other bands in their songs, but what about other band's who make reference ot the fall in their songs.
Only one I can think of is Alternative TV's Cold Rain on the Strange Kicks LP, where Mark Perry is very complementary.

"Mark E. Smith and Brix" by Barabara Manning, I believe originally appearing on her 1988 Lately I Keep Scissors LP. I believe the Woog Riots one is a cover of this.
"Eau De Mark E. Smith" By Farces Wanna Mo (1990).

There's a great Half Man Half Biscuit song about niggling those musical snobs called "Irk The Purists" which opens their ace "Trouble Over Bridgwater" album. It's the same tune as that "Sing Hosanna to the King of Kings" hymn. The line that takes us to the first chorus is "Michael Ball or the Fall, I can listen to them all in the twilight or the afternoon".
Belle & Sebastian (who'd've thought?!) have a sweet little track on the "Fold Your Hands, Child, You Walk Like A Peasant" LP called "Nice Day For A Sulk" which contains the line "Nice day for a jam: The Fall, Manfred Mann". I kid you not. I can't think of two bands more different musically, and yet The Fall and Belle & Seb are equally brilliant so in a way it's unsurprising Belle & Seb should harbour a Fall fan or two. Whatever next, a Fall guitarist in a Bonzo Dog Doodah Band covers act? Good music is good music.
