I love posts like this.. It confirms The Fall are as ramshackle in organisation as I always hoped they'd be..

FILLER - August 3, 2004 03:23 PM (GMT)
I've played my part in being ramshackle I can assure you. ;) Emails could have been lost due to a computer fuck up - but I'm getting desparate now.

fallchase - August 3, 2004 05:34 PM (GMT)
Ed could you email me also. Lets talk US dates and such.

mjungblu - August 3, 2004 06:02 PM (GMT)
on the way to moscow they could make a stop in France, Holland, Belgium, and Germany as well! ;)

fallchase - August 3, 2004 06:06 PM (GMT)
and then come into the united states and entertain us.

athlete not cured - August 3, 2004 07:56 PM (GMT)
Northampton :D that's nearer than last 2 gigs I've been to get it on ;)

Steve Hanley - August 3, 2004 10:09 PM (GMT)
I'll go to £1K for a gig at my house...any good Ed? Think of the live album potential....'Live in a back-to-back in Leeds'.

Divvey - August 3, 2004 10:59 PM (GMT)
Australia anyone? On a visit to say hello to Conway in NZ???

Northampton

Did someone say Northampton? No Fall, but this sounds good... quite tempted meself, and it takes a lot these days to get me north of Palmers Green:

"UNDEREDUCATED MUSIC's 2nd BIRTHDAY BASH
live @ The Racehorse, Abbington Sq. Northampton
Saturday 7 August from 4pm. £5 or lower

Wet Dog
from London. Eerily beautiful. Scarily beautiful girly 3 piece

The Retro Spankees
"a discordant noise which leaves the ears ringing... confusing, crazy, and a little overwhelming" Drowned In Sound

The Legend (tbc)
from Brighton, "Everett True and Danya making profoundly magical madness from a guitar, a taped piano, an upturned drum and tremulous voices that ache like angels" Careless Talk Costs Lives

Alto 45 (tbc)
from Norwich, "lo-fi pop maestros" or "punk for tired people"

Pete & The Pirates
from Reading, guitars covered with blood, everyone singing at the same time, Velvet-like mayhem

Lesbo Pig
from London. Three girls, guitar and a violin. Annoyingly brilliant.

MJ Hibbett & The Validators
from London via The Midlands, Billy Bragg for a new generation, a rare full band show.

Winston Echo
Quirk pop oddball. Daniel Johnston meets Jilted John

Columbus & Crusoe
"alt-country-tinged, lo fi, polyester-coated, British suburban eccentricity " Drowned in Sound

Clubbing Seals
rocking and meandering and weaving and taking the breath away.

all the profitsare going to local charities, so you can donate money AND get to see some absolutely blinding bands."

fallchase - August 4, 2004 06:28 PM (GMT)
I have a nice backyard for the fall to play at here in hilliard ohio.

Big Chief Mango Chutney XIV - August 5, 2004 10:47 PM (GMT)
Anyone heard anything about whether the Middlesborough gig from earlier in the year is going to get re-scheduled at all?

BTW : Just Thought if anybody will go in Moscow for THE FALL gig ? It could be fun.

Russia is one of the places I've always wanted to visit. If The Fall embarked on a Russian tour, and I wasn't too busy with my work at the time, then I would probably consider following the tour around Russia.

It would be good to see them in a different country for once. I almost got to see them in LA earlier in the year, except for two small problems: i) My flight left the week before they were due to get there; and, ii) They didn't actually get there...

Re the thread about Roadmender.
The Fall have declined the invitation to play in Northampton(twice before) and as for wads of cash being offered, well that is not the case.
The Fall are very professional and only deal with promoters with a proven track record.

With regards to Russia the same applies.
The correct proceedure in booking The Fall is via The website and not the message board.
Sorry for any confusion caused by the threads.
The Fall are very busy recording new material and will appearing at the gigs listed on the website.

Many thanks

good newsw about recording-what are the chances of a southern hemisphere tour-i understand the financial constraints-let us know if there;'s anything we can do

i belive the correct expression is "the fall rock" (FALLCHASE circa 2004)

Gobbless their pointed heads!

This is the most uplifitng news I've heard in a while...

chachacha - August 9, 2004 11:26 PM (GMT)
I think FALLCHASE deserves a namecheck on the next record or sleevenotes-he is your most enthusiastic fan and it would make his..........life (up to this point).

Everyone in agreement say "aye".

PS-agreeance is NOT a word

gorillabat - August 9, 2004 11:59 PM (GMT)
Looks like it's time for someone to roll out the "most enthusiatic fan" poll...

:D

totallywinded - August 10, 2004 12:17 AM (GMT)
Correct procedure indeed! Its called offering WORK for fucks sake! I'd love it if this band were offered this headliner , that live event. Scanned NME for weeks looking for a fall mention in the festivals. No luck. Drove 90 mins on me tod about 4 years ago to see the fall at the leopard doncaster . At this time the band were on their knees. Supported by a band called trigger happy. Shite lead vocalist ranting about 'polce oppression' etc sub clash stuff. is that ed blaney??

chachacha - August 10, 2004 12:35 AM (GMT)
Oh dear- i can see where this is heading. Be very careful-wind yer neck in dude ;)
PS-sorry mr Bat-you are also very enthusiastic I can tell.

BTW-apart from the bournemouth runner-anyootherfan been namechecked?

totallywinded - August 10, 2004 12:48 AM (GMT)
come on cha cha cha! HELP! Anyway, answer the question is that him?

chachacha - August 10, 2004 12:54 AM (GMT)
yep it is-i thought you were feigning ignorance. There was a tussle on the board recently with things getting messy with the broker being maligned, so maybe you were unaware.

I think its fair enough to express an opniion about Trigger happy though ;)
