Title: COVER ART QUIZ
Description: It's non-Googlable!

Zoot Horn Polo - September 24, 2009 04:39 PM (GMT)
Hello.

Here are 15 descriptions of album covers.

The descriptions are mine, based on what I see when I look at the covers. For the purposes of the quiz, I may not reveal EVERYTHING I see on each cover. However, I will not twist/distort/play clever-clever games with the images that I do reveal.

Kindly tell me the artists and album titles. One point for each.

1. A man is sitting on a window-sill, with his left arm balanced on his left knee. There's a guitar leaning up as well. The view outside the window is a field. Over - Peter Hammill/SNARFYGUY

2. There's a park, with trees and bushes, at the bottom of the picture -- slightly curved, like an upturned bowl -- and a man's smiling face dominates the upper 90% of the photo. He's got long hair and sideburns, but he's noticeably balding. A Rainbow In Curved Air - Terry Riley/GREASE FOR ROADS

3. A black woman's head (which is on fire) is touching the bulging belly of another black woman who is pregnant. The belly has a zip in it. An Indian-looking woman is in the bottom left of the picture, with a shawl on her hair that looks like a waterfall. Live-Evil - Miles Davis/FRITTER

4. Five men sitting on a large pile of Swan Vesta matchboxes. Picturesque Matchstickable Messages From The Status Quo - Status Quo/ELVISCHOMSKY

5. There's a little guy, and a big strongman guy, and a juggler, and a guy with white make-up, and a guy suspended in mid-air. Strange Days - The Doors/FRITTER

6. A woman is emerging from what looks like a drained swimming-pool. She has frizzy hair. Hot Rats - Frank Zappa/GREASE FOR ROADS

7. A man is ducking his head to walk into a room that seems to be made from (or soundproofed with) black foam tubes. Station To Station - David Bowie/BUY KURIOUS!

8. There are four blokes drinking in a pub. One of them is talking to the landlady, who is laughing. There's an advertisement on the wall for Steve's Radio Cabs.

9. A man sleeps on a bench while a load of skyscrapers with scary reptile heads snarl down at him. The Royal Scam - Steely Dan/FRITTER

10. A vase with some flowers in it. Looks like some kind of arty conference room. Oh, and some curtains too. Chairs Missing - Wire/MR. MARSHALL

11. Loads of mediaeval people freaking out in a village. Fleet Foxes - s/t/FRITTER

12. Three blokes looking at the camera. One of them (on the far right) is pointing at us. The guy in the middle has a red shirt on.

13. A plane flies over a city where signposts read "Smoke", "Drink" and "Consume". After Bathing At Baxter's - Jefferson Airplane/FLICKERING LEXICON

14. A man with long hair is holding a guitar. His shoes are not on his feet. Bryter Layter - Nick Drake/HICCUP PERCY

15. One guy is crouching. Another is bowing his head. The other two are wearing an overcoat and a leather jacket respectively. Oh, and one of the other two is wearing gloves. Black And White - Stranglers/FRITTER

Think of it as a tribute to your powers of description. If ever I get mugged again, I hope you are a witness.
