Add Reformation to the list.

Blindness is dead. Long live Reformation.

Big Crashing Beat - April 26, 2009 02:40 AM (GMT)
I have to say I'm looking forward to hearing 'Cowboy George'.

Hanley Played a Fender P - April 26, 2009 08:37 AM (GMT)
I made a very last minute decision to chance this as I didn’t have a ticket. Got to Camden at 9, was in the venue at 5 past 9. The Consortium don’t do queuing.

I’ve not been that gushing regarding recent Fall performances, but this was absolutely stunning. Best performance I’ve seen from this post Yank line up.

Completely different attitude. Really going for it. Band looked happy and relaxed. Big difference from Koko. Funnel Of Love had been adapted with new faster bits.

Mark is walking with a bit of a limp, wearing a back support body belt. Looks in good shape considering.

Great young crowd as well. I felt old at a Fall gig which is saying something. Mark was chucking mics into the crowd, but no one knew the words!!!

My best Fall gig for a good long time. Well worth the effort and cost.
Now I just have the wife to deal with.

inherant vowel-uh - April 26, 2009 09:43 AM (GMT)
Well, I'm glad someone made it.

Another gig missed. Bugger.

Bloody missed this one and seems it was excellent by the above reviews - any chance anyone recorded it?

Camden Crawl? Camden bloody Queue more like! Queues for everything I wanted to go to when I turned up about 8, saw about 20 minutes of Peggy Sue at the Monarch, ambled down to the Electric Ballroom queue which grew & didn't move. Gave up, figuring the Fall would be late anyway, and went to see Threatmantics back at the Monarch. Came back after them, the queue was even bigger, and a nice sign saying 'Venue Full, No Entry'. So, no Fall for Pomfob this time :(

Instead I saw the truly astonishing An Experiment on a Bird in the Airpump - sort of a goth / noise Slits - so it's not all doom & gloom. And of course, there's always Hinterland on Thursday (any tips on how to beat those queues?)

At the end of Latc Key Kid, did he, or did he not, said "Thank you goodnight" ?
If yes, ow many years, or decades, since he said thinks like that ?

Cowboy George.

sounds good, a little bit chisellers-ey, just needed a noisy bit at the end :)

Sudost36 - April 28, 2009 10:04 AM (GMT)
Like Cowboy George a lot (the new song and not the former president). Well done Hanley :applaud: :applaud:

Great version of Latch Key Kid too, looking forward to the rest of this one, the new album and Beachdown Fest.

Rigsby - April 28, 2009 01:16 PM (GMT)
This is all very promising.

Has been months since I saw them last and informed t'other half last night "We need to go see The Fall"

SonofAlways - April 28, 2009 02:38 PM (GMT)
Thanks once again to the brave men and women of the Consortium, without whom blah blah blah...

Haven't heard it yet but I'm sure Cowboy George isn't going to be some twangy country & western-type number, is it? I mean, that would be too obvious, right? ;)

Big Crashing Beat - April 28, 2009 03:31 PM (GMT)
Very pleased with with 'Cowboy George'. It lives up to the sense of anticipation generated by the title. I think 'Bury' is coming along nicely too. There is still a good chance they could screw these up when they put them down on record, but at least we have good versions to remember. Thx HanleyPAFP.

saltywater - April 28, 2009 03:45 PM (GMT)
Bury sounds like Biology by Girls Aloud.

It's incredible.

wearethedead - April 28, 2009 06:42 PM (GMT)
any non-DIME versions of this????? please?

Bury sounds like Biology by Girls Aloud.

It's incredible.

The very best Girls Aloud track of all...if Bury sounds anything like that it should be a thing to behold.

Cowboy George sounds great too and Funnel of Love is sounding a hundred times better than the first time they played it.

I'm excited about the album...genuinely!

Shouldn't speak too soon I know but it really feels as though this next one is gonna be a classic. :applaud:

To think that I was actually in London over the weekend and made no attempt whatsoever to go see The Fall. I'm old.

Fucking brilliant, a mate just passed me a CD of the HPAF recording, can't get dime, sound is incredible. Bloody good job Hanley!

A great version of Latch Key, especially Marks scream two minutes in

And Cowboy George - this next album will be superb

stevoid - April 30, 2009 06:17 PM (GMT)
Any chance of a rapidshare of the whole gig?
Yeah nice one Hanley.

IAMTHEPUCK - April 30, 2009 09:26 PM (GMT)
Trying to get it from Dime but it ain't moving. A rapidshare would be great.

I like that weird messed up ending to Cowboy Bob, I thought it was intentional.

IAMTHEPUCK - April 30, 2009 09:27 PM (GMT)
I mean: Cowboy George.

I got my Buttholes stuck in my Fall.

autotech - May 1, 2009 07:39 AM (GMT)
i've only heard cowboy george so far but it sounds fantastic!

is it just me or has the handwriting on the setlists been noticeably neater recently

SonofAlways - May 3, 2009 06:18 PM (GMT)
Absolutely brilliant recording. And I agree with Chairman Hanley--this is the best performance so far by this lineup.

Cowboy George sounds excellent (despite *cough cough* it sounding kind of familiar...)

Pete finally found a nice guitar sound for Wolf Kidult.

Could have sworn I heard some reference to CDs being a "dead format." !

And Bury! I thought that Girls Aloud reference was a joke, but...

"I've got grease on my elbows / I'm from Bury! "
