Title: Buzzcocks: Spiral Scratch
Description: B'dum B'dum

An EP. An arrival.

Short. Sharp. Sweet.

Your fave of the 4, please...

Took me 23 years to finally hear the complete EP. :o Definitely a pioneering record.

Hard to choose one particular song. If it really has to be I go for Boredom although I'm not sure whether I prefer the original or the version Howard Devoto later recorded with Magazine for a Peel session.

the best seven inch ever released - it sounds like real life. this devoto was the closest we've come to a british jello biafra i think, except there was no fight in him so even better.

anyway, times up - "i've been waiting at the post office for sticky pictures of the queen". perfection!

the whole thing is brilliant, but Boredom just captured the era better than about any other song.

Namecheck in Rip it Up to boot.

bu dum bu dumm

Howard will always have a place in my heart, Does anybody else think of "Whats On" when they hear Shot by both sides?

Boredom is the only one I've heard,
got it on cassette somewhere,
but haven't listened to it in years.
I remember crying with laughter at a line about the phone ringing...
but can't remember what it was now... :D

"Boredom/B-dum b-dum/When what used to excite you does not."
These always sounded like very much of a piece to me.

I've just been listening to 'Singles Going Steady'
I prefer Pete Shelley's voice to Howard Devoto's.
I know there's a lot of Magazine fans on here, and I absolutley adore some of their stuff, but he's bloody voice really grates on me. :(

That's cause Devoto is a total posh spaz.

Oh, 'The Light Pours Out Of Me' is amazing!
And that one about "Under The Floorboards"...

I'd rather listen to 'Are Everything', 'Ever Fallen In Love...', 'You Say You Don't Love Me', 'Noise Annoys', etc, though...
