Title: Fall album you have most copies of?

Stephen - August 8, 2008 10:02 PM (GMT)
Including vinyl, cassettes, CDs and CD 'upgrades', which of these albums do you have the most copies of?

Divvey - August 9, 2008 12:57 AM (GMT)
one of each... I always passed on the obsolete version in the hope of inspiring conversion.

I have one too many of FHR & RPTLC, but still cos I only have one copy of each.

SteveHamilton - August 9, 2008 01:20 AM (GMT)
Same here - I gave the old ones away when I got the re-issues.

Dave The Fall Fan - August 9, 2008 06:07 AM (GMT)
Extricate - I have 3 copies. 1 on cassette and 2 cd versions. I dunno how this happened really , I usually just have 1 copy of each.

Can't cast a vote because there are a lot of albums I have three copies of (vinyl from the 80s, original CD release and Sanctuary remaster):

Dragnet
Grotesque
Slates
Hex Enduction Hour
Room To Live
Perverted By Language

Real New due to must have of both UK and US versions and varieties, not to mention leaked other as well. No regrets, no returns.

I wish IWS the same fate- good enough to deserve it, and I would pay full for another track or two.

stuartjewkes - August 9, 2008 10:01 AM (GMT)
I have 2 copies of a fair few, some cassette and CD, others CD and vinyl:

Frenz Experiment
The Nation's Saving Grace
Wonderful and Frightening
Perverted By Language
Grotesque

I think that's it?

I picked up the cassettes because they were 50p and I'm a sucker. I pick up the vinyl versions as they sound better than shit Beggars CDs.

I intend to pick up vinyl versions of everything eventually without delving into silly money collectorisms. I also want a reasonable cross section of the vinyl eps/singles for the DJ case.

GraemeLovesPinkLady - August 9, 2008 12:21 PM (GMT)
Grotesque I think.

1. Original RT vinyl
2. CD release with singles on and crappy fade ins on some tracks
3. Sanctuary reissue
4. Promotional Japanese vinyl release (complete with obi and lyric sheet in Katakana!)

Quite a few on three - LATWT, Hex, Dragnet, WAFWO, TNSG...

I have both Bend Sinister & Seminal Live on cassette, cd and vinyl - was mainly buying cassettes when I got into the Fall, then upgraded to cd & picked up those on vinyl second hand.

Am I right in thinking that Town & Country Hobgoblins is the only Fall track only available on cassette?

DJAsh - August 9, 2008 10:01 PM (GMT)
I did have 3 copies of Code Selfish but some knuckle-dragging, inbred, swivel-eyed, workshy, shell suit-wearing scumbag nicked one version from my car ( it was inside the tape player at the time) Wonder if the lout even played it...

Aubrey The Cat - August 10, 2008 11:52 AM (GMT)
Vinyl and cd of the early ones - up to Kurious. But vinyl and two cds of Fall in a Hole (one of them now obsolete, but I can't find anyone who will take it off me. It is the one with jumps).

Real New. If we count copies bought as well then I've purchased both the US and UK versions digitally then bought them both on CD and then acquired the original mix off the ol' in-tra-net.

I'll agree with Exo and say I hope there's a US release of IWS coming and I hope it's a little altered and expanded....

Mark E Smith Made Me Cry - August 19, 2008 10:50 AM (GMT)
Bend Sinister x 4 - cassette on day of release because my record player had bust and only had a crappy walkman..........LP about 6 months later, gave cassette to friend David.......second LP second hand about 1992 due to Bornemouth Runnmer scratch on previous....CD at some point in mid 90s.

Grog - August 19, 2008 11:31 AM (GMT)
Fall Heads roll - 4 copies

UK Cd
UK vinyl
US black vinyl
US marbled vinyl

Liam - August 20, 2008 12:34 PM (GMT)
2 copies of some of these.

3 copies of Witch Trials - the jumpy CD, the 2CD recent reissue and the original vinyl LP.

I'm currently collecting the UK vinyl versions and foreign pressings when I can find them.

RepoMan - August 22, 2008 12:26 AM (GMT)
I've had three copies of Bend Sinister, 2 CD and the LP, but I've had 4 of This Nations Saving Grace, 1 LP and three CD.

The reason being that the CD are such poor quality and started jumping on any number of tracks.

Drjohnrock - August 24, 2008 05:08 AM (GMT)
I have Seminal Live on vinyl, cassette, and CD. Don't ask me to explain this...

Gaz - August 24, 2008 04:53 PM (GMT)
Strangely enough it's a Code Selfish

I first owned it on a copied cd almost four years ago (thanks certain forum member - I've been a member here that long?!), then a tape I found in a charity shop followed by the official CD. About six months back I saw the same album on vinyl at a car boot sale for 50p and although my record player is fucked I could not resist. I've bought a few Fall vinyls simply for the cover art. My fave such purchase is Oh! Brother which I picked up (I think) on my honeymoon.

Thats only four copies, but still... God knows why I've kept the copy

Daggerfall96 - August 26, 2008 03:56 AM (GMT)
Not sure off hand - during the classic Scanlon/Hanley period I got all three formats (vinyl for home/CD for work/cassette for the car and the American version of the vinyl if it had different trax or cover (eg Live at Witch Trials; Domesday Triad) and Jap pressings if I could afford them. Buying each one again was more thrilling than buying a fresh album by anyone else f'sure!! :)

psychocandy - August 27, 2008 01:38 PM (GMT)
i have 3 copies of grotesque, hex and room to live.

And This Day - September 24, 2008 08:13 PM (GMT)
Like most people here, I have three different versions of PBL:
1. Sanctuary remaster, after getting dissatisfied with the sound quality I got
2. 1993 Castle release, and finally
3. the orinial LP release.

Völlig Totall - September 25, 2008 12:19 AM (GMT)
I had Bend sinister and Dragnet both on vinyl and cd.
Since it's many years i don't have anymore a turntable, i gave the vinyls away for a couple of beers to a friend of mine, hoping in vain to convert him.
I regret this now: the Dragnet cover is especially beautiful to look at, i should have hanged it to the wall behind my stereo :(

Also, i have two copies of Frenz, same version, one click too much in the shopping basket.

d'oh!
