Title: Chicks With Sticks
elvischomsky - August 6, 2008 11:54 AM (GMT)
It's gratuitous Go-Betweens week here on FOF - so please pick your favourite lady drummer.
Please add anyone I missed...
elvischomsky - August 6, 2008 12:10 PM (GMT)
And - quite amazingly - I've just noticed I missed off Lindy Morrison, who was the whole point of the poll!
Looks like it's suicide again for me...
Neal Cassady - August 6, 2008 12:23 PM (GMT)
I would also question this spelling "Kate Shellenbach," and the eroneous comma?
Anyways, are we basing this on "who is foxy" or "who is talented"?
duckpin236 - August 6, 2008 12:26 PM (GMT)
Legendary, unrecorded[but real], Cramps first drummer: Pam BaLam

Pedant!
At least I can spell "erroneous', though...
PS Sorry about that rogue comma.

Many apologies over my erroneous spelling of the word eroneous.
I'm tempted to go with duckpins "Pam BaLam", that is certainly the best drummers name. Alas, good old Mo Tucker will have to get the nod... erm, not on the foxy front to be honest though.

Yes. This is of course the correct answer. Out of those in the poll I voted for Rachel Trachtenburg just cos it was nice to se her in there.
I'm not too bothered about the band, they sound a bit too much like everyone else for my liking, but Katie from Forward Russia is an amazing drummer - check out those tippy-tappy rimshots all over their last single Breaking Standing.

Yes, purly based on being foxy.

I was looking through the list going 'er, hang on a minute..'
From the list, my love of Sign 'O' the Times and Lovesexy makes me vote for Selia E.
But I would have gone for Lindy. Shame on you elvischomsky, shame on you.

The best.
And I admit that even though I know it's silly
The chances are we've gone too far/You took my time and you took my money/Now I fear you've left me standing/In a world that's so demanding
Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

Yes, odd that it's so moving.
Even lines like this;
"When I was a very small boy,
Very small boys talked to me."

I used to work as a vault's clerk at BBC News, I used to bunk off every Wednesday, cause they still fillumed Top Of The Pops at TV Centre.

You can (almost) sing this to the tune of True Faith!
"Comme je descendais des Fleuves impassibles,
Je ne me sentis plus guidé par les haleurs..."
