I clearly remember buying "That'll Be The Day" by Buddy Holly & The Crickets and it was on Brunswick[I have displayed on the wall now] and remember really really playing it over and over....great song. The flip is "Looking for Someone to Love" and also has a nice rockabilly solo, maybe even better than That'll Be The Day. The drumming of J I Allison is still a marvel in its simplicity and directness....he seemed to take a new approach on almost every song....a perfect 45

Samuel Barber – Adagio For Strings. Its very moving music, one of the few classical pieces that has been slightly over played though. Was there a dance remix... yuck!
Voted for just ahead of Screamadelica.

What a confused list. It has the "look at me I'm so interesting and complex, yet I still have a sense of humour" feel about it.
Anyway, I voted for Fried, because its the best album there.
But, but, but, Thin Bloody Lizzy? Honestly...

'Combine Harvester' is a classic. The Fall should cover it.
If Julian Cope had segued the coda of 'Sunspots' into a version of 'Combine Harvester' on 'Fried' then I would have voted for that one.

I do like Buddy Holly... but its got to be The Wurzels. Based on Melanie's 'Brand New Key' of course. Not a great song by any means but elevated to godhead status by the Wurzels. They were on a good chart roll at the time with another excellent song 'I Am a Cider Drinker' - based on 'Una Paloma Blanca' by the now-disgraced pop svengali Jonathan King.
The Wurzels were a great folk band when led by the legendary Adge Cutler - but when he left they went in another, albeit quite brilliant, direction.
My favourite song is probably 'The Blackbird' - "oh where be that blackbird be, where be that blackbird be..."

Yus, it does seem like a list put together by someone trying too hard to impress.
12 Crass Songs - Jeffrey Lewis.

They played pre-match in a thrilling bottem of the league clash between Port Vale and Bristol City a few years ago.
Could of done with a 90 minute encore instead of the drivel that followed.

I vote for Samuel Barber. Not only a classical composer of some considerable standing, but also the inventor of the "haircut".
We'd all still be walking around like this if it wasn't for his genius:

If he goes completely bald, will he just be known as 'The Cornflake'?

I'm sure there'll be plenty of hair in other regions of DLT's body to merit the continuation of his legendary nickname.
One of the posters on his Facebook describes "DLT" as his "favourite acronym".
That's wrong, isn't it? An acronym of DLT would be "dilt".
