Please vote for your favourite of these 2 albums and tell us why.

Bonkers in Phoenix or North-west-fashion-show are what a Fall odd track should sound like, (imo), or Taurig. Better than das-boot.
Cerebral gets tick.

A rare opportunity to vote for Reformation.
Close call though, but I like Reformation, Fall Sound, Coach And Horses and Scenario more than most of CC. I'll forgive the crap inbetween on this occasion...

A reason to be cheerful because one of these undeservedly undervalued albums will finally get a(nother) point.
RPTLC for me. It can't be long before CC finally faces Seminal Live...

Two underdogs, at least here. I vote for the greater underdog, RPTLC. It excites me more. I generally like underdogs.
Hotel Amnesia - July 1, 2008 12:23 PM (GMT)
Wasn't going to vote in this one but then I realised RPTLC was the most disappointing first up listen I've had of any Fall album and it hasn't improved much over time. CC is ordinary but gets the money.
worthless recluse - July 1, 2008 05:41 PM (GMT)
RPTLC might be patchy but is adventurous in places and features a few truly excellent tracks - CC is mostly pedestrian and tired-sounding.
biggestlibraryyet - July 1, 2008 05:50 PM (GMT)
Easy vote for RPTLC for me. CC is one of the few fall albums I own that almost never go in the player.
snoweyuk - July 1, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)
Here's hoping that CC finally gets a win. It deserves one. Much better than Reformation.
There are 7 reasons why:
The Joke
Feeling Numb
Pearl City
Life Just Bounces
The Aphid
Bonkers In Phoenix
Pine Leaves

I've had my fair share of dogs over the years. I'm happy to confirm that Reformation is not amongst them, indeed if there were to be a big shot on the rock, it could easily be RPTLC.

EXACTLY!

Finally, a battle CC can win!
Not sure why this one is accorded second rate status. For me, it was the thrilling return of Brix. It's got some dodgy tracks, but far fewer than most from that decade, and I rate it my 2nd favorite from the period after Extricate and before Real New Fall LP (bowing to Light User). I like the poppy straight ahead quality, and uncluttered production. Lousy and/or inappropriate production, for me, damages albums like Middle Class Revolt, Code Selfish, Unutterable, and Marshall Suite.
"One Day" is the 90s equivalent of "That Man." No kazoos though. And though I really like parts of the "dance-y" Levitate, personally I'd rather do The Aphid.

RPTLC cuz it strikes me as having more of the three R's than the other one does.
Conway - July 3, 2008 09:39 AM (GMT)
Yay!!! Cerebral Caustic for its first win!
Faust Banana - July 3, 2008 07:05 PM (GMT)
Cerebral Caustic.
I'll say it: It's a great album.

Wise words. I like RPTLC 'cause it's playful.

Exactly that.
The good bits on Reformation are really really good. I like the americanness of it all, sure theres a LOT of stinkers, but the songs Kapitan mentioned really make it something.
CC way too unshaded.
Scenario is one of my favourite songs of the OO's. It has an atmosphere lacking in a lot of The Fall in the past few years.
