And whilst on the subject of rock/comedy hybrids, my first band (Fridge Death) used to do a medley/mash up of Syd-era Floyd's instrumental opus with the theme tume to Galton & Simpson's Steptoe and Son! The result....

Don't know if you can imagine this but hum Syd's opening guitar throb and the first two lines of the riff, but finish the 2nd one off with a coconut shell-driven amble, and continue witht the Steptoe theme whilst picturing Harry H. Corbett's downtrodden mush. Works amazingly well...
