I haven't heard this comp...wondering whether to get it as I've heard virtually none of it! :o :ohdear:
Voted 'Goin' Back' - Dusty Springfield, makes me cry.
Anyone here heard much of this? And is it worth getting???

I've heard virtually none of it.
I've voted for the lovely 'Goin' Back'.

:applaud:
I haven't even heard of most of the artists! :o
Stranger - June 24, 2008 04:02 PM (GMT)
me too
I've heard of Queen tho. :D
And The Flirts. Sort of band name that sticks in your mind.

Microgravity by Biosphere was good in its day. That's the only one I've heard of, apart from Queen, and if they played that song having invited me Back To Theirs, I'd probably get a night bus home or go and get a kebab.
Oh, I've heard Craig Armstrong too - sucks shit through a dirty sock.

All 3 votes are for Goin' Back. Would anyone else like to vote for that? :D

mind you, if it was 'Body Language' I'd be right up there cutting a rug and dancing with the alpaca lampshade.

No. I've never heard it. I've never heard the Justice vs Simian track either, but I like their We Are Your Friends so I've voted for that.

I voted for 'Promenade Sentimentale' from Diva.
Judging from this track, and the Harold Budd and a few others, I suspect there's a strong ambient feel to these proceedings. I suppose when you're the Pet Shop Boys' age, you need a nice bit of evocative piano to help you come down off those teenage drugs.

I was really disappointed when this album came out - looking forward to it as PSB are known for their good taste and musical knowledge.
They even included the wrong version of Passion by The Flirts!
Neal Cassady - June 24, 2008 07:49 PM (GMT)
Not quite sure why PSB get respect from anybody - they are dull as ditchwater and this compilation proves it.
Anyhoo - couple of good songs on there, like this...
Justice Vs Simian

Most votes for Dusty (which I've already got, natch); hmmm,
All in all, I think I'll give this CD a miss, then.
Thanks, everyone.
