Title: MES & Ed Blaney single

Conway - June 3, 2008 09:26 PM (GMT)
The first single from the recently announced Voiceprint deal, to be released as "Mark E Smith & Ed Blaney", will be "Transfusion". It is a limited edition CD single of 1,000 copies.

I understand it will be on sale at the Manchester University gig on 28 June.

fallchase - June 4, 2008 03:32 AM (GMT)

rainmaster - June 4, 2008 09:37 AM (GMT)
Will this run of limited edition CD singles be collected together in the end to make a full length album?

Not that I'm being tight or 'owt, you understand! ;)

Divvey - June 4, 2008 10:17 AM (GMT)
well that's what I'm banking on, given the logistics & expense involved.

Couldn't find anything on the Voiceprint site about it, is this going to be available at gigs only,Conway ?

Dice Man - June 4, 2008 11:12 AM (GMT)
Great news, that! Let's hope some copies will find their way to these shores as well.

I REALLY REALLY hope that this is a cover of the NERVOUS NORVUS song from around 1956 or so. Fantastic stuff!

Looks like it- this was posted on the news page in April; 'The first limited edition vinyl is due to be released at the end of this month, and four singles are set to follow before culminating in an album of the five tracks.'

What an ironic song to record.... HAHA

what with Blaney's driving incident... and that he said of MES... ''it isn't talent it's just speed!''

SonofAlways - June 4, 2008 01:18 PM (GMT)
I thought these were supposed to be vinyl singles. -_-

Hopefully these will display the same beautiful packaging, attention to detail and value for money as previous Voiceprint releases.

Billybigbananas - June 4, 2008 09:11 PM (GMT)
Bearing in mind we all spent hours thinking of matches for "LKK" not so long ago, it may be best not to get too hung up on this one.

DJAsh - June 4, 2008 09:22 PM (GMT)
Something subtle like Motherfuckin Cunt.

fallchase - June 5, 2008 03:44 AM (GMT)

The Acute - June 5, 2008 08:30 AM (GMT)

Honestly, The Acute, could you not give it a fakkin' rest ?

twinz2z - June 5, 2008 10:07 AM (GMT)

(There's no "b side" anyway, since it's a cd). ;)

I get worried about this sort of project. What's next, 'I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts'?

A Merrier Christmas - Thelonious Monk - Mark goes bebop....free berets and grow your own bop beards...BIRD LIVES....Maybe it'll be The Fall-o-Reenie

twinz2z - June 5, 2008 07:03 PM (GMT)
I heard this track on youtube, played on a really old crackly disc.
Even so, as covers go its got good potential.
Id like a bit of Von-pseudish electronica, but not too hopeful.
