Irish TimesThis is quite sad, I think. I loved the show last year there, and would like to have seen them play there again. A lovely venue.
Sad news. I see it may be replaced by 'apartments'.
bloody developers.
:grrr:
EVERYTHING gets replaced by 'apartments' these days. A few years ago, gainsborough studios in Hackney got turned into 'apartments' (flats, really) - it should have been turned into a british film museum really, some great films made by Gainsborough. A couple of years ago Tower House in Whitechapel, an old hopice where apparently Karl Marx and George Orwell stayed, and Jack London wrote about in one of his books, got a similar treatment without so much as a blue plaque.
It wouldn't be so bad if they were turned into flats that more people could afford, but they're always 'luxury apartments'. Bloody buggers!
My first ever Fall-gig was at the Galtymore 06, and I saw them there again last year... :(
