Description: Links to posted bootlegs (Fall & others)

mrgrieves138 - March 30, 2008 02:18 PM (GMT)
I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread dedicated to posting direct-download links, instead of having to spend so much time surfing the blogs and this message board.

Unless the webmaster has a problem with it, that is. I'm not trying to step on anyones' toes, but the bootlegs are out there regardless of how people feel about them, and we may as well make it convenient.

The Fall is a wholly different experience live, as e all know, and so obsessively collecting live bootlegs is a blast, so let's dedicate this thread to that!

Let's make it simple:
At the top, post the date and location, if available.

The link below that.

And, if you feel so inclined, the track listing.

Lots of radio sessions at www.burningworld.blogspot.com. Mastered from old C90s, but nice to hear all the same.

(I appreciate the broadcasters legally own the rights ot these recordings, but seeing as they've never been officially released I can see no harm in posting this - moderators, feel free to think otherwise!!).

I think I've also found Fall bootlegs at www.clearwaterahead.blogspot.com & www.live-bootleg.blogspot.com & www.spinstersrock.blogspot.com....but my memory be faulty...

I know I'm being stupid, but I've downloaded it and now have M4A files that I have not a clue what to do with? Help someone.

kenchie - May 28, 2008 08:38 PM (GMT)
You can play .m4a files with iTunes - they are the audio part of MPEG 4 movie files. I think iTunes rips CDs to this format unless you tell it to use MP3 instead. Or something.

Download a programme called Switch http://www.nch.com.au/switch/ and convert to something that does not bow to the hegemony of Apple!

I was trying to find out the best way to convert m4a files. Thanks very much - that's working fine!

If you don;t need to convert, you can play m4a files with realplayer.

A 2006 session for the 'Mixing It' programme on BBC Radio 3.
Four songs:

Assume
Midnight in Aspen
Higgledy-Piggledy (Monks cover)
Pacifying Joint

Not best sound quality I've heard, but fresh and fun nonetheless.

Here's one you don't see every day (at least I don't)

Bonn 25/5/81

There's another one as well if you look around.

I beg your pardon, Mere Pseud. - what I meant to say was that the zip files are showing 'not found'.

Mere Pseud. - August 7, 2008 09:24 PM (GMT)
I assume you have clicked a different link, Voxish. On this page the zip files' status gets displayed as "found":

Very good gig this, as were the other 4 dates on the first tour of Germany. But can anyone here name the venue in Bonn where this was recorded? It is not giving in the Gigography.
